I noticed this the other day, when I zoom in a lot using either the ZTE camera, or Google camera, my subject will slowly drift up the screen for a little bit. If I move, it will drift again as it refocuses.
Anyone else notice this?

Today i experienced a strange problem with the Nexus 4 Camera. I took some pictures of a kid playing in the park. It was the day time around 1:30 PM and the weather was somewhat cloudy. The pictures in which the kid stood still were good but in which he was running or moving the showed strange ghosting kind of effect in them. I have attached the photographs here. Look at the face of the kid how it seems distorted. Does anybody else experienced a similar issue.
The camera settings were on Auto and HDR was enabled during the shoot.
Nothing wrong with the camera, just the setting. HDR mode shouldn't be used to capture motion. Only use it for still objects/scenery
Sent from my Nexus 4
The ghosting is normal as the phone actually takes 2 pictures at different exposure brackets. If your hand moves between shots then the algorithm will have a hard time merging them.
Yeah it's HDR that's causing it.
Right, that what i was thinking. Ghosting is quite different from the effect in these pictures. Must be HDR. i did not get time to experiment with turning it off. but i'll try again.
Thanx for the replies.
Hello Ya'll,
So I recently purchased the G2 from Verizon and a few things to note about the new GRam and updated camera with OIS. Maybe it's supposed to stutter/lag in this setting but when I play The Simpsons: Tapped Out, I see a noticeable lag when swiping across my screen in certain areas. It slows down noticeably as if it's struggling to process the graphics. I'll have to try it with more games but that's my 1st impression unfortunately.
For the camera, it seems that any sky or even upward shots with the sun just even slightly in the FOV destroys the picture. The white overtakes the picture and everything seems overexposed. If this is normal for a smartphone camera then no complaints. But just even taking a picture out my window without the sun seems washed out and I can barely make out the trees. The 1080p/60fps recording seems to suffer the same problems as the camera when indoors. The ceiling lights wash out everything and it doesn't even resemble anything close to 1080p. Maybe I have a defective unit?
If anyone else is experience this or I'm over estimating the phone's capabilities, please let me know so I can be content. Thanks in advance.
Was playing with the different camera modes the other day when my camera started acting funky. It looks like its out of focus but upon closer inspection i noticed my lens is actually moving around with the image stabilization. Pictures from far away arnt as affected but anything within 10 feet just comes out blurry. The picture also looks like its jumping around when your lining up your shot. Tried resetting the camera settings, manual focus and even a 3rd party camera app with no change. Was wondering if anyone knew of a way to disable the ois, or fix the problem all together?
Loved this phone but its just one problem after another, might just jump ship soon.
i think your camera focus is broken , replacement costs ~15$ on ebay ...
mine also won't work correctly, it's like it's in macro mode , i removed battery cover and pushed lens with finger and it focused on far objects . so this means focus is not working
Its the optical image stabilization not the auto focus. I can see the af trying to correct for the ois but the lens is constantly moving really fast making the picture all jumpy.
I can physically see the lens moving back and forth about a 32nd or 16th of an inch constantly
I just got my 6P today and overall it's a fantastic phone. Performance is great, beautiful display (nice and bright), loud speakers - but when I opened Snapchat to record a video, I noticed the scene warped a bit when I was moving the camera. I then opened the camera app and noticed the same thing. It stuttered a bit too, but the bottom part kind of warped like a gold-fish eye effect.

It is a side effect of the EIS. It keeps the video smooth but gives a "jello" like effect sometimes. I am assuming Google plans to tweak the stabilization in the future to reduce this effect.

Like someone else mentioned, this is what EIS does. Basically it crops the video slightly to help compensate for shake and jitters. It's a good feature but I wish it was possible to disable it. I don't like how it crops videos in snapchat.
Hello, I think my S7 Edge camera has a serious HDR issue especially in the front camera. Whenever there's a little light coming from behind (while taking a selfie), the camera just turns black and I can't even see my face even during the day. The same issue is with the primary camera. I was lying down on the couch with my iPad reading my research work on my lap, I wanted to take a snap of the ceiling as I was laying down, so I opened up the camera and the ipad screen happened to peek in a little bit(the brightness was a bit high on the iPad) and the camera again turned completely black, so even in a well lit room it was like all the lights were dimmed completely. I have attached the photos of the same.
First photo is the issue I am talking about. And the second photo is of the actual room without the ipad screen.
Please help me out here. Is there some app or tweak that will force the camera not to do this? See I love this phone a lot and been holding on to it since it's release and I don't wanna switch phones just because of the camera but I am really frustrated with this issue.
