Why OnePlus can't make night mode for selfie camera? - OnePlus 8 Pro Questions & Answers

The night mode in this phone is amazing with details and faces
Why OnePlus doesn't wanna make night mode for front camera in stock app like other companies?
That will be great
Selfie auto not great
Faces are soft and HDR is bad

Hdr Mode VS Night Mode ?

Hai.I tested Galaxy S4 camera's feature. Now I wanna ask between this two mode.I notice that hdr mode take much better pictures at night time than Night mode. Please explain....
Sent From S4
From my experience HDR mode takes extremely noisy pictures at night, while Night Modes takes brighter and heavily filtered pictures that smooth out the noise. I definitely prefer the latter.
I'll have to say, HDR is not intended for night photos. There is a reason why the feature got included. And I do agree that HDR has a lot of more noise that night mode shots
Quite to my surprise this is the case with my Xiaomi Mi Max too. Good to see it's same with someone else. Hardly any noise compared to night mode(hht In miui) and believe me hht is useless once you see hdr. Brighter and noise free. I just think it works differently with different hardware or software but I am happy to click noise free pics at night. And all the best to you too.
Pixel has the same case. Read here

OnePlusX Camera Samples (OxygenOS 2.2.0)

A friend recently asked me to take some photos/videos with my OnePlus as he is interested on buying the phone and the camera is an important feature for him.So I went for a ride on the mountain and took some...mixed feelings about the results,it needs Optical Image Stabilization that's for sure...
:/

Sadly the only way to get good results every time is to use manual mode. For whatever reason auto mode makes the colour very unnatural, and also causes quite a bit of overexposure and grainyness.
I've had half decent low light photos with it simply through using manual mode, only things i leave to auto are shutter speed and focus (unless macro shots, which btw this this is amazing for).
Not a brilliant camera by any means, but any camera is only ever as good as the user.

One plus 5 camera for A1

Did somebody tried one plus 5 camera?? How the portrait mode works there and the others?
Stock camera app is too slow. any other app or mod which supports dual camera setup and have full functionality manual mode like one plus five
srry for bad English

Oneplus camera works, but you don't get manual mode. Some things were a bit buggy and crashed for me.
What I did just try is the latest HTC camera off apkmirror. You don't get manual mode, but picture quality is MUCH improved, even indoor shots and selfies. Much sharper and better focus. Nice bokeh effects even without portrait mode. I'll try it tonight in low light and see.
How did u select the Bokeh effect?? Is it the HQ mode??
Does bokeh effect works on one plus 5 camera?

It has super slow-mo (16x) and normal slow-mo (4x).
And I received an update yesterday which enables super night mode (which was a flagship exclusive), and it is seriously awesome. You can take 7 second exposure photos HANDHELD. (So you can take photos at dark conditions when even you cannot see)

try this. try Pro mode in camera then set ISO to 50. set shutter speed to 5s. cover the lens then take a picture. does the picture have white dots despite covering the lens?

the super slow-mo video is it 1080p or 720p and does it have software video stabilisation. Finally, is the notch annoying ?

only @ 720p 120 or 480 fps. no EIS. Notch can be hidden. sometimes its annoying when the color does not match the app. like fb messenger it sets the status bar color to black and its annoying to look at.
if you're planning to buy this phone I'd recommend on saving more so you can buy a much better one.

Used to have white dots, but when I tested today there was not any. I don't know what caused this.
EDIT: I didn't try zooming the picture. There are white dots when I zoomed in.
Just got an update today that removed super night mode for standard night mode.
To prevent any misleading, the update doesn't remove Super Night Mode contrary to the post above. It improves the Super Night Mode and renames it as Night Shot Mode.
EDIT: Looks like it was removed for some regions, like Australia...

Have you tried taking one "handheld"?
I don't think it's possible considering this device doesn't even support EIS.
would you please share a photo that you've taken?

Not true for Australia, it completely removed super night mode and the 7 seconds record and replaced it with a photo only night shot so super night mode removed.

Use S10+ 2nd front camera to take photos?, it actually has a wider field of view!

Hi.
I was wondering if there's a possibility to actually take pictures with the 2nd "depth" sensor camera on the S10 Plus. I know for a fact that the stock camera App doesn't let you use it, other than to assist the primary camera for the "Live Focus" mode.
Nonetheless, if you type *#0*# on the phone App, you can access a test menu, in which you can actually take pictures and see the difference between these 2 front cameras.
I've attached 2 examples that I took, there you can appreciate that the second camera actually has a considerable wider field of view (in comparison to the primary one, though the quality is inferior), which would be really useful for group selfies, since the "Wide Selfie Mode" from the S9 was removed for some reason.
It would be awesome if someone finds a way to use the 2nd front camera to take wider selfies-
is there no possible way to use the wider front camera? (depth sensor), it would be a bummer since it has nearly the same field of view as the ultra wide angle selfie cam on the LG V50.
Additionally, is there a way to recover the ultra wide selfies mode from the S8?
There has to be a way to use the 2nd camera. As for wide selfie mode, there's probably an app or theme out that lets you do it, but I am not sure.

Yeah, my thoughts exactly, but there's also a possibility that Samsung is not providing any API to access the 2nd front camera, which would be a real shame.
U are right!! Camera capture my quadtriple chin
