Greetings.
In the diagnostics menu *#0*#, you can perform to two tests for the Heart Rate Monitor (HRM), unders sensors.
I was wondering if any other owners get completely screwed up temperature reading on the test where you're supposed to keep your finger on the sensor? It either gives me no reading or a totally random number of up to 4 digits.
Also, my device fails the HRM EOL Test, where from what I understand you're supposed to leave it on a flat surface. Oddly enough it doesn't fail when keep it about a cm away from my palm.
I'd greatly appreciate it if any other S10+ owner (exynos particularly I guess) could give the tests a try and come back with their results.
Thank you very much.
I have both the s10+ U1 (Snapdragon) code didn't work but i downloaded heart rate app from galaxy store and sensor works fine.
I got my s10+ (Exynos) Today and tested the sensor with that code *#0*# and sensor works fine gives me heart rate mine was 76BPM. Maybe your sensor is malfunctioning somehow?

This is the biggest motivation on my side to buy Vibrant to be frank. I am a casual developer and would like to write some acc+gyro related application on my own phone.
As far as I know, Vibrant has 6 axis motion sensor, which should be 3 axis acc + 3 axis Gyro if I didn't misunderstand it. However, I can not get any information from internet about what's the model the sensor is, and I'm not sure if this sensor is of exact function as acc+gyro. So if anybody happened to know such kind of information, please share it, my purchase decision would be definitely based on this.
Thanks!
If I remember correctly it is actually a 6-axis accelerometer. It gives you angular acceleration instead of angular velocity, which has it's goods and it's bads.
Thanks Lutin
I'm not sure if it's Gyro or not. There are two posts can be referred

Based on what I saw, I guess most people are still confused about its type. This is why I was wondering if anybody knows the actual model by chance
There's no gyroscope in Vibrant, Captivate, Fascinate, Epic,...
just triaxial accelerometer from Bosch and triaxial geomagnetic sensor from Yamaha
Exactly the same sensor set with Galaxy S UK and Asian version.
Are you sure? This is totally different from what them claimed. They said they have something other than just digital compass

100%, sir.
I own both Galaxy S UK and Vibrant
I used some different software and *#*#0*#*#* code to check on both devices. I'm not surprised to realize that there's no gyroscope.
But the Yamaha geomagnetic is superior to almost every smart phones on the market right now (bi-axis). It's a tri-axis sensor.
I suppose that the combination of tri-axis geomagnetic sensor and tri-axis acceleration sensor will be equal to gyros + accele in iphone 4
Sorry for my English.

thanks man, you saved me a lot of time!
I played with one Vibrant today and yeah, it's magnetic sensor. But it performs basically the same as Gyro, just will be affected by the metal thing.
I have no idea how good it would be in real use and I am still thinking if I should give it a shot.

The new Samsung Galaxy S4 may be the only phone to include temperature and humidity sensors, but your Galaxy Note 2 has a few weather-detecting features of its own.
Firstly, it has a barometer, which measure atmospheric pressure that can help alert you to a possible nearby rainstorm before a slowly updated weather app can. Secondly, there's the thermometer.
Wait...what?!?
Despite the GS4 being the only phone right now equipped with a thermometer that reads ambient temperature, most all devices have a thermometer that measure internal components like the battery. That way, things like this or this (pictured) don't happen:
With the proper algorithm, the internal reading could be used to approximate the ambient temperature around you.
And that's exactly what the new app does.
Developed by , who's already mastered the art of crowdsourcing with their for finding Wi-Fi hotspots, WeatherSignal uses your smartphone's sensors to crowdsource local weather forecasts. This is different than A-Minor's Weather Station app, which was developed specifically for individual use on the GS4.
WeatherSignal was also designed with the GS4 in mind, to take full advantage of its barometer, thermometer, and hygrometer, but it will also work with other devices like the Samsung Galaxy S3 and our Note 2s (only we can't help contribute to humidity readings). WeatherSignal uses everybody's local readings to piece together a comprehensive live weather map.
Only the GS4 will provide somewhat accurate ambient temperature readings (internal temperature will affect the ambient reading), but everyone else can pitch in too.
OpenSignal's algorithm will convert the internal temperatures of our other smartphones into external temperature data. With appropriate averaging and filtering, these readings have proven to be pretty accurate compared to meteorologist data.
Aside from ambient temperature, WeatherSignal also measures:
Pressure (devices with barometers, including our Note 2s)
Light intensity (using ambient light sensors; most devices have them)
Humidity (devices with hygrometers, currently only the GS4)
Magnetic flux (devices with magnetometers, including our Note 2s)
Acceleration (devices with accelerometers, including Note 2s)
Some of the features included in WeatherSignal:
Widgets for temperature, magnetic, light, humidity, and pressure.
Saves data to SD card.
Map of readings of other users and of your own, see averages within each map window, click on icons to see full readout.
Manual reports.
Since this app is still in beta mode, not all of the readings are going to be 100% accurate. Certain habits, such as having your device in your pocket for too long or quick movement may affect the readings. OpenSignal is working on making the app more accurate and efficient for its regular release.
And just in case you're wondering, other devices that contain a barometer include the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note, Nexus 10, LG Nexus 4, Motorla XOOM, RAZR MAXX HD, and Xiaomi MI-2.
Just got my Samsung galaxy s8, the heart rate and SpO2 sensor is quite an amazing feature and Samsung FIT can detect quit a lot of stat. Just wonder, if there any more application using those sensors? I just thinking if we can use those sensor, check every half hour, then it can know my calories in take and consume, and also when I do exercise, and suggest better exercise plan for me?
This one uses heart rate sensor

Also works on Android Wear

Interesting, it say it support my old HTC 10 but not Galaxy S8
Can confirm it working on my S8. Got myself a Tickwatch E and works well in that also.
Now I'm looking for some app to use actual SpO2 sensor. Wrote to that developer to see if he / she is willing to upgrade their game, I'd buy it even if it was in app purchase.
Samsung Health is just too heavy on the system and there are better combos out there
hi do anyone have a legit information on what sensor the 16mp variant use? I got a mixed response on utube with ppl commenting sony and omnivision left and right .i tried to check it myself by installing aida64 but funnily enough it didnt show since the phone sysinfo is locked. can anyone who has already rooted the phone verify the sensor thru aida64 or similar apps? tyvm
Is there any way to get readings from the heart rate sensor on the back of the phone without the samsung Health app. Does any other apps utilize this feature. As I use google fit so do not have samsung health installed and do not really want 2 apps that do the same thing. So are there any heart rate apps that utilize the sensor on the back of the phone?
