Yeah I noticed same thing as well, I have 3gb ram version updated the miui to 12.0.4 and yet experience some choppines in the ui. It's also missing game tutbo

Redmi 9c missing features
On redmi 9c miui 12 these All features are missing
1. Split screen
2. Game turbu
3. Quick replies
4. Second space
5. Video toolbox
Tell about these features to Xiaomi .. Give feedback to xiaom. Hope they will add these features in redmi 9c

this is somehow related to different variants, 2gb ram variants dont get second space while we, 3gb ram variants get to use second space in using the same MIUI version.

I think the software installed in Redmi 9C are optimized to low end.

mine the 4GB 128GB edition i don't see any lags or slowness during multi tasking , opening a browser , music play and playstore when i open the recent apps and load any of them they don't reload

mine is 2GB RAM 32GB rom and its laggy most of the times (MIUI 12.0.10.0)

Xiaomi mi 9t is lagging from time to time

Hey, I am using a xiaomi mi 9t since January. Now for a week I am experiencing lags in performance from time to time. It started on 11.0.4.0 and continued in 11.0.5.0. Scrolling through the home screen, menu, chrome browser, WhatsApp etc are lagging. I also didn't install any new app which might cause the lags. I tried to capture this with my laptop camera which is pretty low fps but you can still see it.
Lagging https://youtu.be/lpIbPObkYYQ
Smooth https://youtu.be/zNJMZ078H2U
Can anybody help me please to find the problem and fix it?
I do encounter the same issue even though I'm on a mi 9 Lite.
I'm on MIUI Global 11.0.1 Stable with Android 10.
I guess there is a process in the background that takes too many resources and makes animation lags.
No fix found yet

You have to unistal APP VAULT, from play store. Search on playstore for the app and unistall update and unistall the app.
11.0 5.0 is a mess. I noticed occasional transition lag as well and slightly reduced battery time perhaps. Hope we get next update soon. 11.0.3.0 was amazing, everything worked perfectly, I regret downloading the update.
Somehow I can't uninstall or deactivate the app itself, how did you guys do that?

Hi, I also have Mi 9T with these performance problems. I noticed your message about miui 11.0.3.0. Looked up for it, it is first miui 11, base on android 9. Later ones are based on android 10. As i can see, android 10, also 11 are not very optimised by Xiaomi for this device. Is it possible to roll back to 11.0.3.0? For me its not important which android version is on my phone just want everything to work as it should. Actually everything is working just this performance drops and lagging (guess fps also drops). I got this device with Miui 11.0.4.0 and updated to 11.0.5.0 but im not happy with performance. LAter versions of miui are also laggy and bad for battery.
Miui is s#!tty, try custom ROMs

Smoothest ROM? (Redmi Note 7)

the official MIUI 11 I'm using now, and too many trash system apps running in background makes the game I'm playing keep choppy and frozen (or lag?).
the main purpose of this phone for me is playing multiplayer games, so compared to functionally powerful, Light and Smooth is more what I care.
which ROM (and version) is most suitable for this usage? Thanks.

thanks for your kind advice, but seems miui eu is based on china official builds? and miui official build 11.0.1 Android 10 is already withdrawed by official because of too many bugs (source: read on china xiaomi forum). also those negative feedbacks about 11.0.1 Android 10 on miui eu forum...still thanks.
Tested a ton of ROMs (mostly from xiaomi.eu) and I keep going back to MIUI 11.2, version 20.1.21 BETA. Works way better than the "stable" ones, is smooth as fk, crisp menus no lag etc.
I went from xiaomi.eu (a10/miui12) to "pixel plus ui" rom and I don't regret it. I've got more storage available, way better battery backup without the stupid miui battery manager which limits apps by default (10h SoT and 2 days without charge), UI is smooth and so far I haven't found any bugs.
Normally, I don't like to flash custom roms because in time i've learned that they all have their flaws. But coming from an androidOne phone, I just can't stand MIUI anymore. It got HUGE with tons of customizations/features I don't need nor want. Flashing a custom rom got me an extra 10gb+! of free storage. That's why I tested a couple of roms and I'm sticking with "pixel plus ui".

You mean OFFICIAL MIUI 11.2, version 20.1.21 BETA? how did you deal with those trash system apks? some of which i heard cannot be removed or bootlooping happens. how did you deal with those ads?

Can anyone report how is the ram management on this phone?
It's supposed to have a close to stock version of android but I've read that Motorola still implements some custom background restrictions, making 3rd party messaging apps and widgets not very usable, because they can't update or show notifications in the background.
10/10 never faced any issue of reloading apps in my day to day usage since 1 month.
After the update 73-16-5-3 (EU variant) July Security patch all basic apps for messaging, phone etc. stay in RAM nicely with no reloads. I don't play heavy apps like games.
No problem at all
I have adaptive performance enabled

Hi !
Like for a laptop, it depends on your usage : gaming or not ? large screen or not ? budget ? I think in 2020, Note 8T or some note 9 could be more appropriate but once again, first see about your usage and needs

If you can use the Pro Mode of the Note 7 camera you will take Amazing pics, you will have a large modding community support for years, Android R will not arrive officially and the Note 7 After the MIUI 12 will be EOL (It will receive some updates but slower than other phones), the Note 7 is a good phone, but it's just old, think about it:good:

No, i use the stock MIUI 11 based on Android 10, i've tried Weeb Project (Based on Android R) and it's pretty good, i had problems only with Mobile Data but i think it'll be fixed soon, i haven't used custom ROMs a lot, i like the MIUI (The Android 10 Update is very good, the stock camera with Pro settings for me is better than any Gcam).

(even it's the question is not for me, i'd like to present my point of view, no offense i hope)
I've tried some custom roms : pixel experience (normal and plus) : very good rom, totally stable, good battery. I had problems months ago with rom without included gapps. I'm now back on MIUI but Revolution OS in order to have a debloated one with still the MIUI features.
Dirty Unicorns should be pretty good too i guess, but nothing better than trying by yourself !

I don't see why it wouldn't. Xiaomi's snapdragon models seem to always have development since it's easy to unlock the bootloader. For development to thrive though, we have to wait till the kernel sources are released, which is about 2 months after release on average.

ok sir thank you
I hope so. Good thing is that it looks like the Redmi Note 9 4G and the Redmi Note 9 Power share the same specs, except they add a new Ultrawide camera.

Looks like you're right. They just released the kernel sources and the Redmi Note 9 4G and Poco M3 share the same code. https://github.com/MiCode/Xiaomi_Kernel_OpenSource/tree/lime-q-oss
Looks like twrp may come sooner than I thought
has anyone unlocked bootloader? I am waiting for some NewYear price falls.
Anyone thought of flashing GSI/treble AOSP images for pure android?

I had unlock the bootloader and installed EU rom with magisk... I will install AOSP in futur but now it's too early.
Just got the phone, definitely feels slower than it needs to be based on the specs. I am really hoping we see a custom recovery and ROMs soon to see this phone fly. I was checking and the X3 NFC got those 2 relatively quickly post release.

No miracles, no custom rom is going to make the phone fly.
For its price it is a very good phone.

I disagree with your assertion. Even Redmi note 5 pro from three years ago, performs very well without lag on AOSP ROMs. And we all know that SD 662 on the POCO M3 is faster and better than SD 636 on RN5 Pro. So i believe that POCO M3 will perform greatly on AOSP based ROMs.

The miui roms of that time were loaded with bloadware and not very optimized, so any "clean" rom made an appreciable difference in performance.
Today it is not like that, the current miui roms are quite clean and highly optimized (and can be easily cleaned of the bloadware they carry).
There is not much difference apart from the security issues with the other cleaner android roms.

Yeah, sure...
I have a Redmi Note 7, with the SD660, that phone runs much much much faster, even with slower memory. The Poco M3 can go faster.

Can you link me to some guide as to how to remove that Junk and stop/uninstall apps? This reviewer seems to think you cannot and maybe you could help him too!
You will find all in any of the Miui forum, even in Xda.
