Hi!
I just bought Joying Intel Android 8.1. unit.
And I decided to put heatsink, and 5V fan.
My idea is to plug 5V fan into one of Joying USB ports.
My question is - does anybody knows how much output does those ports have (is it standard 5V spec, and 200+mA?)
Unit I bought is this one:

And what are differences between USB OTG and regular USB port on this devices?
Thanks a lot!

Am beginning my project to install a 2012 N7, 32 gig, wifi only, in my 2006 Scion xB double DIN as a replacement for the stock head unit. I am keeping the stock speakers for now. I am adding an external amp.
I've done head unit swaps over the years so I know how to open up the dash, remove the existing unit, and how to wire up a regular head unit.
Here's question #1. I am going to use Timur's kernel (using USB ROM for Nexus 7) so that I can use a USB hub and the OTG cable. The OTG cable micro USB will plug into the N7 micro USB port, but the other end of the OTG cable has two plugs. One is a regular USB (female), which I will need to gender change so I can plug into my powered USB hub. The third plug is a micro USB female. Is that third plug needed to bring power or data back to the N7? And if so, what does it get plugged in to?
To power the hub I plan to use a buck converter connected to a dedicated 12v line. The converter will step the voltage down to 5v 3a to power the USB hub. The only thing coming off the hub will be the N7 and a USB 3.0 thumbdrive that will hold my music library.
The second q concerns heat. I'm in S Texas. Has anyone experimented with leaving the back of the N7 off and adding a heat sink to the battery, or adding some sort of insulation, or diverting AC air from the existing ductwork (for when the car and AC are on)? Just looking for ideas.
Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Timurs kernel is old. Use kangaroo rom or any 4.4.2 rom and kangaroo or oxydo kernel in the kangaroo thread there is a power manager app that will allow the tablet to fast charge and turn on and off with ignition. If your worried about heat buy a 12 volt fan and power it up with 12 volt from car. The micro usb female is for power use the cable that came with the n7 Power it with a 2amp or more 5v power car charger(i bought a samsung branded) works great. You dont need a hub if your only gonna power a flash drive. Micro male to tablet, full size female to flash drive ,micro female to nexus charging cable to usb car charger plug.
The GPS WiFi Bluetooth and NFC antennas are all on the back cover so none of them will work without it. So that means no sat nav or internet. I wouldn't worry about cooling it the tablet is meant to function with the back on in a variety of conditions. If you want you could cut a hole in the back there is a copper sheet that is the Nexus's heat sync. Maybe hook up a CPU or graphics card heat sync out a desktop. Or even just stick it to the plastic back its bound to do something.

So, my 2014 Kia Soul has a new map update that is arriving in the mail tonight, and it includes Android Auto. I know I have to connect my device directly to the USB plug in my car to use it, but I have some questions for everyone.
I want to be able to keep my phone QUICK charging at 3A but also connect for the USB requirements for Android Auto. I also have a 32gb micro sized USB drive I'd like to keep plugged in, as it is loaded up with great driving music. I can live without the USB drive if needed, but really want to keep the ability to quick charge.
If I use an adapter like this one.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01A6ZPHAQ/
And connect the Type C connector on that to my phone, and then the Type C USB charger in my car to this, can I connect a Type A male to Type A male cable to satisfy Android Auto?
I hope this makes sense. I'm thinking it'll work, but maybe someone else has tried it. I have this adapter from some testing I did, but don't have a male to male type A USB cable to test out with yet.
I am almost sure it won't work. And where will you get 3A power to quickcharge? Cars usb are not prepared for that.
I would get to 3 amp power from where I get it now, the quick charger that I put in my car as mentioned above.
So the USB C cable would go from my current charger to the USB C in port on this adapter, which is designed only for charging through that port, then a USB A to USB A cable to connect the car USB port to the USB A port on the adapter.
I picked up a short USB a male to male cable earlier today so I can test this on Friday.
I’m new to Android headunits, and XDA-style android hacking. My headunit doesn’t have the standard micro usb otg plug, but 2 females standard usb 2.0 from the harness.
I purchased a usb 2.0 male to male cable and tried connecting it to my laptop’s usb port, but no device is detected. I wonder if there are other ways that I’m not aware about.
Hi All,
I have a Kunfine unit. Just another Chinese clone, with the 2 usb ports connected to the back. This is the third one I have and I wonder if there is a difference in the USB ports? My DAB + USB adapter is only working on the port with 5 connectors while the one with 4 connectors doesn,t recognize him. They are wired the same so shouldnt make a difference.
TIA

No one....? Am I the only one with this ? Cause I was thinking, it looks like one port is V2 and the other V1.1. Can this be the point ?
That is not an Android Auto HU, so you aren't likely to get much in this forum. I would go ask in the Android HU forum.

According to this product page (for a TS10-type device) only the 6-pin USB port is capable of high-speed data transfer for CarPlay, etc. It says that the 4-pin is charge-only.
I'm in the process of integrating my own Kunfine UIS7862-based (TS10) unit. The 6-pin USB pigtail works with a USB flash drive and Android Auto. The 4-pin worked with the flash drive, but not AA.
Anyone else experience this?

Can you please post the System Info of your unit? Looks like this:
Aye. This it?
Are other devices working on the 4 pin USB port? E.g. an USB stick ?

If other devices are working then it's not for charging only. I may be an issue of too less power. Could be helpful to test with an active USB hub.
Hey guys
So my headunit that I put inside my 2004 E46 does not support Apple CarPlay from the start.
The unit runs android (10)
I bought a adapter and tried to install the app that It comes with but nothing… no signal.
So the issue seams so be that there is not enough power coming out of the USB port from the headunit.
When I use a splitter and plug the end for power into the lighter usb charger and the data one into the usb dongle it works no problem but it looks ****ty …
Any way or any adapter that I can get this fixed with?
