Help: OnePlus OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren edition (HD1913) Root - OnePlus 7T Pro 5G McLaren Questions & Answers

Dear All,
I want to root my OnePlus OnePlus 7T Pro McLaren edition (HD1913) but i also want to keep my McLaren theme after root. i didn't find any related post or guide specifically for HD1913 model. can any one help me?
Thank you.

The theme is still on the phone after you root, you can choose all the same McLaren stuff.
I just verified this. The only thing you lose is that boot image, but I'm sure you can get it back.
I still haven't gotten to boot image changes yet.

Do you mean like rooting? I have the hd1913 and have rooted it and boot works fine. I'm current using rr rom for the 7t pro on it. I made a telegram group if any 1 with the exact same model and fw want to discuss in the phone further.

To root it download the 3 4 0 2 version of twrp and do that fastboot boot twrp.img and backup boot and flash it with magisk apk with patch option then boot twrp again go to installer and select install img. And then flash it to boot only.

root on Zenfone 3 laser (zc551kl) ?

Has a method for rooting the zc551kl been made available?
Why is it taking so long? Is it because there is no bootloader unlock available yet? I've tried kingroot, TWRP, SRSroot, damn I think I've tried them all. Can someone help me?
No BL unlock, no root. It's that simple.

Hi, the official bootloader unlocking tool is out, and there is an option to flash TWRP and root ZenFone 3 Laser. Let me know if you're still interested. I'm using ZC551KL rooted with TWRP Android 7.1.1 stock.
How?

OK, Here we go; You downloaded bootloader unlock tool from Asus and want to root: https://www.asus.com/us/Phone/ZenFone-3-Laser-ZC551KL/HelpDesk_Download/
FILES TO DOWNLOAD:
-First you need to download the unofficial TWRP that works for this phone (twrp-3.1.1-unofficial): https://depositfiles.com/files/ux8w5thp6
-Second, you need superSU file (Many thanks and credits to @mauam for the links): https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu/v2-64-2-66-supersu-mode-t3286120
-Third, if supersu doesn't work, you need Magisk v.15.3 (Lots of thanks and credits to @topjohnwu for providing us with these tools): https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
-Fourth, download ADB drivers and install them in your PC: https://gsmusbdriver.com/asus-zenfone-3-laser-zc551kl
-Again many thanks and credits to @Gt5228 for the original helpful "Idiots Guide" of how to root ZC551KL. If you have issues, follow this thread for info, links and solutions: https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone-3/help/how-to-root-zenfone-3-laser-zc551kl-t3502606/page5
NOTE: For some phones, superSU doesn't work. I run Android Nougat 7.1.1 stock on ZC551KL, and using superSU soft bricked my phone. I had to flash the stock again and try Magisk instead supersu, which worked. Others used successfully another version of SU, so please read the original thread before you start if you still have questions. I am not responsible for bricking your phone or any other issue you may encounter. Just to be safe, make sure you backed up your device, and have access to the original firmware file just in case you need to flash it again.
HOW TO:
-Install adb drivers;
-Enable debugging on your phone;
-Copy "twrp-3.1.1.unofficial.img" on your installed ADB folder (PC);
-Copy "Magisk-v15.3" or "superSU" on your phone's SD Card;
-Go in adb folder where your files are and pressing and holding "Shift" right click on nothing inside your folder and choose "Open command prompt here"
-With your phone still on and connected to PC, type "adb devices" You should see a serial number, that means your phone is connected via adb and you are good to go;
-Next, type "adb reboot bootloader"
-Once in bootloader type: "fastboot flash recovery <file name>.img (fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.1.unofficial.img);
-After Flashing, DO NOT REBOOT YOUR PHONE INTO SYSTEM!!! Reboot into Recovery!
-Using vol up/down choose Recovery and wait to reboot on TWRP. You'll be asked for your pin if you have one;
-In TWRP (Recovery) press "INSTALL" from main menu and navigate to your saved file on SD Card (superSU or Magisk) and select it;
-After the installation, clean cache and restart. Now your phone has TWRP recovery and is rooted. Enjoy.
This is not entirely my work, all i did was just collecting information and links from web and put them here together.
P.S. I used Windows 7 Ultimate 64bits, USB 2.0 port.

About custom roms, at this time there's absolutely none ported for ZenFone 3 Laser. I've been looking for weeks now, here on xda and everywhere else and found none to 0... No CM, no AOSP, no Lineage, no Viper OS, no nothing... disappointing, as there's lots of ZC551KL users waiting. As posted here, twrp, bootloader unlocking and rooting is possible, but beside the privacy apps we can install over root, we still have to live with all this blootware on Asus Zenfones. We'll get the Oreo update in August though, if that makes you feel better...
And here is the thread for How to download and install Xposed Framework. Must read as there's a different solutions for everyone. Works for my device. All thanks to @topjohnwu , @rovo89 , @wanam : https://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-systemless-xposed-t3388268
(sorry. )

i followed this guide for rooting
https://forum.xda-developers.com/phab-2/how-to/how-to-root-phab-2-pb2-650y-t3524305
The only trouble I had was unlocking the bootloader, and this step wasn't mentioned it the guide. Before flashing the code to unlock bootloader, in the developer options, (in the phone) I didn't checked the OEM unlocking. After I checked it, flashed the unlock bootloader code successfully, the phone restored to factory, then flashed the TWRP. Just as it's described in the guide. The only difference I noticed is that dlto enter recovery mode after twrp is install you have to push at the same time vol down button + power button.
if after you have root and install twrp you want to install xposed framework, just look for the xposed installer for android 6 arm64 devices.

They're pretty much the same, the difference is on the LTE bands, the M has works with more I think. (besides the retail region).
I had a similiar problem, and the issue was that the bootloader wasn't being unlocked flashing the commands. It turns out that the thing keeping the bootloader from unlocking was that little OEM UNLOCK check in the DEVELOPER OPTIONS. After I checked that one, tried again, and this time it worked, I first noticed it because the phone started wiping to a factory reset automatically. After that I just put it into fastboot mode, flashed TWRP. And done.
I don't know if this is the same issue you're having. But for me it was a little frustrating trying and trying without success, until I noticed that little detail and that was it.
At the moment I have it rooted with xposed working just fine. The only issue (don't know if it's only me), is when recording a video using 3rd party apps like instagram or snapchat, the audio is garbage, like some noise cancellation going wrong.
im sure i had that ticked but i guess not. will retry once i fix my xiaomi redmi note 3 who has a memory failure (same on my mom's phone redmi note 3) both crashed 2weeks apart from each other. they boot but as soon as u download 5apps thr phone bootloops... and now im trying to get mi flash to work but its been a long time and i can't figure it out... so now using this massive phone fr 3months its a good phone but damn that quad core is slow... and apps close way to quick on back ground. anyway i will try and root again some dag and install linea os.

Please help! I need to relock my bootloader.

Hey guys, how are you? So, let me explain my situation - I have a Redmi 7A (the 16 GB version) and I recently unlocked its bootloader to root, and uninstall some bloatwares ...... I managed to unlock the bootloader and install TWRP recovery, but I was unable to root, and i tried in a lot of ways, in a lot of times........... I'm on version 11.0.6 of MIUI, and I saw that some users here were having problems with this version too. Anyway, recently a MIUI update came out, and soon it will update to MIUI 12, but I'm not able to install the OTA update, after the phone restarts, it goes to TWRP recovery and shows an error message - so, I would like to go back to my original recovery and re-lock my bootloader, but for that I need the original recovery of the Redmi 7A, and I can't find it anywhere........
Someone here have this original recovery available to send or do upload? It would help me a lot! Thanks

Soo... I have problem too with root and I make temp root (unsafe method) . Patching boot img is idiot idea now , same as re-lock bootloader . I'm DEV and i'm know (look on my threads if you don't think). Better idea for you is download global rom or rom designed for your region . Actually i wipe my global rom and I install rom with android 10 . I have english only without polish support . All rom's is here : https://mirom.ezbox.idv.tw/en/phone/pine/ If you want to unbrick your device , download correct rom , and flash . For your bricked device is only fastboot rom for unbrick . In google you find how to install adb and fastboot drivers , disable check signatures of drivers in your windows , adb and fastboot exe file (if you have windows as me) etc. . Good luck . Disclaimer: After re-lock bootloader , your software and data be bricked , you must flash all with data too . Make copy of data to google or sd card

Any drivers?
Great work!
I suggest to move this thread to "Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro (Redmi K30 Pro) ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, & Other Development".
And maybe use a naming convention and a template for the first post also add sourcecode.

Hello ?,
I'm a noob at this. I just posted this because it took so long to have a thread that I wanted to show that there was some development on the device. There is a better thread in the forum about the same recovery and rom. Is there a way to delete this thread?

Yep. Though on consecutive reboots it just goes back to stock recovery unless I fastboot boot recovery.img again.
I haven't installed lazy flasher etc though.

Need help rooting IN2020 on OOS 11.0.1.1

Hello,
After taking a lot of time trying to (and successfully) unlocking the bootloader, I seem to have hit a wall with rooting.
I have the IN2020 Chinese model on OOS version 11.0.1.1. I've attached a photo showing this.
I found this link here but I don't know which to download (if there's even the correct one for me to download in there).
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Forgot to link the site:

I have the same model, IN2020, but whenever it upgrades to the Andriod 11 I lost the ability to hear anything when on the phone. (speaker, earpiece or Bluetooth)
current i can't go past oxygen 10.5.12.in11aa
how did your update?

If you don't even know which boot.img you should take, I advise you let the phone stock!
Edit: i don't understand why people search on other websites for rooting their phone when we have more than one guide here on xda.
