Hi guys,
This is my second time to logged in on this forum. And I find it awesome! wow, you people are a blas! your innovations and all...it rocks! anyways, guys, just had my O2 XDA mini S a month ago. bought it from a friend. its my first PDA phone. And i find it really amazing...with all the studff it could do....guys, to be honest, frist, im not an IT grad, or some say"techie" person. dont know much with computers also. but I do love my PDA. I know, its kinda ironic though....i also know that "this" should be mutual...like "give and take". but as of the moment, i dont have anything to share with you folks. however, rest assured though, in due time, i may have "something" that would be useful fo you...it could be any...at least...guys, just badly need your advice, or tips, or whatever technicalities you can share for my PDA. I would surely appreciate it. thanks!
Happy hollidays Geniuses!
A while back, I wound up bricking my HD2. Since then, I purchased a vibrant. However, I still miss my good ol' Leo, and I'm asking anyone out there who has a JTAG,to bring her back to life. I will pay, as I said, but I would like to keep that for the people actually willing to fix my phone, so PM's please. Thanks guys.
P.S. In case you are wondering, I'm not so savy and smart when it comes to actually opening up the phone, and doing whatever to it, If I attempted to do that, I KNOW I would break it, so thats why I am not doing it myself, otherwise, I would be.
PM me and ai will put uou in contact with someone that can JTAG your HD2. They are in the US and very reasonably priced. Like I said PM me and I can give you full information. You are not suppose to use the forums for any kind of busneiss transactions that is why I can not post it here.
Edit: I sent you a PM check your inbox.
how much do you pay?
Considering that our project that shall not be mentioned was successful, I was wondering about what can be expected in terms of custom roms for this device. I don't know if ASUS released decent sources for the Ze533KL, so can we expect an eventual daily driver release or shall we expect more experimental builds? Of course I'm not asking for ETA, just wondering about what can actually be achieved for this phone.
The thing I really wanted to have with this phone is some kind of burn-in protection (which is implemented in LOS as far as I know). My phone is still under warranty, and I can already see marks of the keyboard and other icons when displaying a white image.
Since the actual thread was closed, maybe this one could be used as a bulletin board for any new unfoldings.
Cheers.
sure thing, I also thought about creating new thread where we can inform each other about our initiative. I believe that McFy is waiting for his unit to arrive. Then there will be LOS hopefully. I'm rooting for him
As far as Lineage OS features I think it is OK to ask a question here and wait for some research and answer about it.
Let's keep our fingers crossed
"Now what?" is a fantastic name for the thread.
Exactly my feeling.
Ironicaly, XDA killed the iniatitive on the day it reached its goal. So, there was no reason at all to do what was done.
About a custom ROM for the device, I have no preferences. Whatever suits the developer is good for me as long as the final product is stable and runs well.
hello everyone,
I bought the device and got it today, I downloaded stock rom, kernel sources and flashed twrp on it, I did a first build for this device but it didn't boot. Don't ask any ETA as I will not be able to tell the amount of work until I get something working. I will share with you the progress but can't give any date.
Regards and thanks for the support
bro pls give an unofficial process to unlock this device because official unlock tool not working it shows "unknown network error".
@McFy any news?
please share a working process of unlock bootloader without asus unlock tool apk....i m waiting for 3 years

Nando, I don't have a Telegram account, but if someone starts building and need testers I would gladly volunteer. Just let me know here either on this topic or via pm.

I'll be honest - I don't know what any of that says and for the next ten days I'm stuck on mobile (vacation!!) so if you could translate that would be great.

Basically, a dev named Erik will try to contact Mcfly so that they both could work on porting the official Zenfone 3 Lineage to Zenfone 3 Zoom.

Thank you for that.

Oh well, don't wanna jump the gun here, but it seems like the dude took the money and spent on something else, or he's been really busy since then, as he no longer even commented on any xda posts.
In any case, It's a shame. Now we know why XDA doesn't allow group funding for this kind of thing. Not asking for eta is something, but you can't volunteer to develop for a device, take the money and disappear and expect people not to distrust you.
My advice for all others that contributed would be to next time buy a phone with a greater dev community, and never donate if there's no ongoing project.
Really hope I'm wrong here, please @McFy, show up and prove me wrong.

I don't think you're jumping the gun - it's almost three months since @McFy last posted to us that he obtained the phone and even his github project named "android_device_asus_zenfone3_zoom" (which I presume this was for) doesn't appear to have any work done on/to it whatsoever - I don't think it's unreasonable to have gotten some kind of status update within that time, even if it's negative.
Without knowing what happened for certain I will unfortunately have to think the obvious.
Hey guys sorry for not updating you, I don’t want to tell my private life but my gf have health problems and it made me busy driving her/ spend time with her, I definitely didn’t forget you and am in touch with the project, I achieved to boot but lot of stuffs are broken; zenfone 3 have now new trees since it is now official and I am working on it; I went in touch with the dev. Fyi I did buy the device for real as I said, I am someone you can trust and in the case the situation of my gf isn’t getting better I will give that phone to another developer at my fees; I also want to mention It’s not on my habit to share wip builds or push trees change until it’s not on a state I judge nice enough.
Best regards and I hope you will understand. I totally apologize but I went inactive in all dev scene I am on and it’s hard for me as well to come back like this..
If you have any questions I can answer them if they are not personals.
I sincerely hope that you guys won’t get mad at me.

First off, I am sorry to hear of your gf's health problems - and I truly mean that. I hope that she recovers and you don't need to tell us any more information because that is personal.
Next - the heads-up is absolutely appreciated. Thank you! I do hope you can also see from our point of view how it was looking to us and understand that we were getting puzzled. Now we know why.
Thank you again.

That’s me who owe you that and more.
Yes I ofc can see from your point of view and that’s why I went back on the forums, I got emails and more so I realized I got the phone since enough time for you to think I might have forgotten you,
Thanks for your message it’s really appreciated!
So, another month's passed. Any news?
anyone in contact with the developer?
so sad. that money was important to me. now the z3z is kinda past on my life. won't judge others, but by the delay, i guess i can judge myself injuried.
Good day, and wishing all members all over the world, the happiest and most productive 2020.
I own the old but lovely fifine w9 smartwatch, and I am desperate to locate a piece of it's charging box, mine has already weared out a lot.
Please, if in good condition, used, if you have a spare, or you don't need your own one anymore, please, let me know how much you wish to be paid for it, and I will cover the price and shipping fees, there is no problem even if your country is far, far away from mine(Greece).
Please, let anyone who might know where to get one of this thread.
Thank you,
Kind Regards,
Christopher Stathopoulos.
I'm a totally new to this was hoping someone can guide me in recovering my unit.
It was working fine until one of the days it just boom no longer boots into the OS.
My seller has indicated that I have a chip with All Winner T3
Since I can't get in there, I don't think I can give much info other then what's below.
Appreciate your help!

Saying that I'm new somehow excuses me from any effort. Come on 'people' fix it!

I feel so privileged that people care and answer me without any effort at all.
Here's my pitch:

I'm going to say the following because I'm talking to an audience that I believe will respond to me, because I am privileged, so people will answer. Of course.

you want others to watch videos to solve your problem, is that correct?
If the unit is defective an in warranty, what does the seller suggest?
Apart from taking videos, what have you found and tried so far from reading the forums?
Why do you think posting here to get answers and then disappearing because your cheap Chinese headunit has problems and the seller won't help (because you wanted to save money instead of buying a reputable branded unit despite having zero skills to fix problems) and never to be heard from again after you have your answers, you think treating XDA like paid support is OK?
Did the 4pda guys say the same or perhaps not reply at all?
Curious. Really. I could be wrong. You're not alone. Your response could answer alot of my curiosity, having read so many post in the same way you have.
"Here's my video, please watch it and tell me how to fix it". Totally curious. I could say wtf, but I haven't.
lol not at all, I have been reading the forms a bunch here & other places. those pics you see should indicate that I opened this unit in hopes of finding some info with no luck for me..
Yes I know how this works it's a community not a charity club, however when your in need your in need it's as simple as that.
I have seen people here providing the needed files & it seems like they are all pointing towards MCU & firmware?? That is needed in order to provide the correct files.. how do you even get to that without entering recovery/OS
