Please help identify and brick the device. - Android Head-Units

Please help identify and brick the device.
I suspect this is some kind of KLYDE device.
The device freezes at the boot stage on the logo of the automaker.
Here is the link to aliexpress where I bought this device: /item/4000060317419.html
Does anyone wonder how to get into the recovery? There is only a reset button on the device, there are no more physical buttons on the device. Or how can I connect to the console?
On the motherboard there is a marking KD-ZXW-MB (V1.5)

You would get into the recovery, but that makes no sense, because the recovery is not usable without hard keys.
The only possibility is to use the firmware to get it back to life.
PX6_format.zip --> https://drive.google.com/file/d/1gXU13McO7XdTEMxOncy5pyW-5-OI1bF0/view
If you have the firmware of the unit, just put it on any formatted USB stick, switch off the unit, use the front USB for mounting the USB and reboot the unit.
All personal data and apps are gone in this case.

Thank you very much. I havn't firmware of this unit. PX6_format.zip - is this firmware? So i need to unzip it on FAT32 formatted flash? Right?
I wrote a request in support of klyde. I asked them if they produce this model? I asked about the firmware, model, instructions. And I received only the answer yes, this is our head unit. And nothing more.

So. There is no activity on USB. Somehow (rather accidentally when turned on), the Android logo appeared instead of the automaker’s logo (it was the same in the car once, while the rear view camera turned on when the rear speed was turned on). I inserted a flash drive and it appeared active. The process of updating the firmware has begun. Then there was an inscription (not photographed), saying that something went there successfully, remove the disk. I pulled out the disk, the head unit rebooted and again the same logo of the automaker and that’s it.

Yes, this unit is produced by Klyde and is sold with software adaptions by other reseller too. Slight differences in the menu but that seems all.
Did you use the update as written?
...as PX6_format.zip ?
After the first setup (graphic turning something) the unit goes in a shell based screen. Did that happen?
Have you pushed the micro switch for Reset afterwards?

I put the archive itself and its contents on the flash, as I did not know how to. Now I pressed reset several times and the process started. Probably I still have a hardware failure, since the USB does not work. When ANDROID appears instead of the logo, the LED lights up inside. Well, on a flash drive too. Then I photographed everything that appeared on the screen. Then I pulled out a flash drive. The screen turned black, the LED inside also went out. I pressed the reset and the automaker logo appeared again. The seller with aliexpress promised me to send the firmware. We'll see.

You need to wait for the first boot up after the update...
Just try it again... and only the zip file should be on the stick, nothing else.
I would format the stick again and copy the zip file again to it.
Switch the unit completely off, put the stick into the front USB behind the screen and power on.
Wait until the update process is ready, remove the stick and let it do the shut down and reboot automatically. That takes some minutes to get all the stuff done in background.
Then and only then do a reset.

And so, I tried to do as you advised. When i turn on with a USB flash drive connected, nothing happens. All the same logo of the automaker. By manipulating the USB flash drive in the connector or by pressing the reset button, I managed to start the firmware recording process 2 times. For the first time, suspecting a malfunction of the USB connector, I pulled the plug out of the board itself, after the message appeared on the removal of the flash drive. But it did not help. The head unit immediately rebooted and again hung on the automaker's logo. The second time I pulled out the flash drive itself. But the result was the same. I found the pads, apparently, this is UART. I'll try to buy a UART-USB adapter and connect the console. I checked with an oscilloscope, there is some activity on the TX connector until the automaker logo appears. Pictures of the connector in the attachment.

So yes, this is UART. There some logs. It seems to me that one of the processors is not working. The one that dual-core ARM Cortex A-72 MPCore. =(

Help with an android head unit. (MCU corrupted during winter storm)

Hello,
I bought an android head unit last year with android 6.0 marchmellow on it, however through-out the winter, the mcu became corrupted which caused all of the following issues.
* All factory apps besides the iGo navigation app instantly crash (no radio, music, bluetooth, etc..)
* Nothing can be triggered in the settings menu as it also instantly crashes as soon as you select anything.
* Side buttons no longer light up
* All side buttons no longer work, only the power and volume knob.
* A precious cd stuck in it due to eject not working (factory app).
After multiple times researching a bit here and there over the past few months, I've determined it to be a corrupted MCU.
Head unit is this one:
https (u know what goes here) www (dot) amazon (dot) com/gp/product/B071XXBD9S
"EinCar
Android 6.0 Marshmallow Car Stereo Double 2 Din 6.2 Inch Capacitive Touch Screen Car DVD Player In Dash GPS Navigation Bluetooth Support OBD2 WiFi Mirrorlink"
I can provide more info if needed just have to power it up. j
If I go into the settings menu and look at the about info, the MCU and a few other things are completely blank.
I need help figuring out how to root & flash it. It has a bunch of female end USB, and two micro usb slots.
I've tried doing it from a micro usb, by holding the reset and power buttons but the recovery boot screen gives no options, simply says its updating, then starts up staying the same.
I do have a laptop but have to buy a male to male usb to connect it.
Trying to flash what I think will work with it is called V7.3.2_20171116.202256_KED1-mod
I can access the play store app as well and install app from there which work, just not any factory ones will work.
Any help would be... super helpful

Bricked Joying 4.4 unit...trying to find thread for adding internal USB..

I'm a dummy...I wasn't paying enough attention, and tossed the wrong image on to my Joying, and black screen bricked it. Long story short, Joying JY-UQ124, MTCB, came with Android 4.4. Double DIN model, with fixed screen, two SD card ports on front panel (SD & GPS), 3 front panel buttons and volume knob.
I had put Malaysk's 5.1 ROM on it a year or so ago, found it to be stupid slow afterwards, and shelved it. Bought a newer unit, and forgot about this one for a while. I just pulled it back out to put in one of the trucks, and tried to flash Joying's 5.1 ROM on it via recovery. Seemed to go OK, then rebooted to the black screen. Side buttons light up, but screen never does, and can't get it to recovery (hold reset button 5 secs, hold power button, release reset button, hold power button 5 secs). It was only after this that I remembered Joying specifically saying NOT to update it to Android 5 with Joying's image, because it WILL brick the unit....ooops.
I tried using the SD Firmware tool to push the Joying 4.4 ROM back on via SD card booting, and no go. Doesn't appear to even recognize the SD card, much less attempt to boot anything at all. I had read about using a USB connection, and putting the unit into the bootloader to use fastboot to force an image in, but it appears that only applies to the models with the mini-USB port on the front port, which mine doesn't have. I tried resetting the unit into bootloader mode, and using a USB A-A cable on the rear panel USBs, but the computer never recognized it.
I opened up the unit, and found one 5 pin header that doesn't have anything plugged into it, and one empty 5 pin spot on the board with nothing soldered to it. I'm thinking this would have been for the mini-USB port? I had previously found a thread showing this on another MTCx unit, and how to connect to one of these ports for JTAG purposes, but I can't find that thread now. Wondering if it might be worthwhile to go down this road, or if I just have an expensive paperweight on my hands now?

My PX6 head unit is stuck on the Android 9 boot logo

Hello, I installed my new Px6 octacore radio and it's stuck on the Android boot logo. The only thing that works is the reverse camera then back to the boot logo.
The reverse camera always work 100% when I put the car in reverse but when I take off the reverse it always goes back to the boot logo.
I tried the reset button but the screen just turns black, then the welcome screen appears the android logo appears again but it gets stuck on the loop every time.
Here is the video of the radio in action or rather inaction:

the reverse camera works without android, so it works always despite of what the status of android is.
it seems you have an infinite bootloop, try to remove ALL power from the unit. turning your car on and off is not good enough, you'll need to remove the power connector (dinplug) from the unit.. wait for a while and plug it in the unit again. (or remove the positve lead from your car battery)
now try again..
if that does not work press the screen with 5 vingers during bootup..
if it still doesn't work, try tapping on the screen from first power on. it should say "detected" in the upper left corner.
if it says detected, you can try flashing new firmware.

I tried all of your recommendations but no luck. I was not even able to get the detected message to appear on screen.
Strangest thing is that it worked fine the entire day until I installed the backup camera and put it into reverse for the first time. After that it never worked again.
I know you mentioned that the reverse camera has nothing to do with the android part but that's exactly when it locked up.

do you have an external amp or powered antenna connected to the HU to?
it seems there is either a problem with a groundloop, or a hardware problem..
disconnect the camera from the HU (the power switch cable and the plug) and any other powered stuff, so you just end up with the head unit having 12V, ACC and GND, and give it a try again..
(i'm rooting for you!:laugh

Thanks ducthcommando! The seller tells me that it's a bad motherboard and is willing to send me a new motherboard for me to replace but I'd rather get a new unit. Either way I'm going to try out what you told me by unplugging everything except the basic power plug and see if that works.
I'm weary of these android head units now. Do you have any good recommendations for single din PX6 units? Thanks.
good to hear the seller takes some action!
and no, i don't have any single din units to recommend..
the best of the best are cloned fast and easy, so if one says you need the blablabla 9X pro, and you do a search for it, you could well end up with a fake unit...
also there are way, way more knowledgeable people here who know trusted resellers and best brands..

Allwinner T8 bootloop

I have an Allwinner T8 which had been working fine until yesterday. It's running stock firmware and unrooted. Yesterday coming home from work it started to boot loop. The radio would come on for a few seconds, then go off, the display constantly shoing the turning android.
I had hoped it was just hot as it was a very hot day, but was the same this morning. I've tried pressing the reset button to no avail, it just no longer plays a radio station as it's lost the stored stations.
I cannot seem to find a way to get into recovery mode, tried plugging in a USB keyboard and pressing "i" and CTRL-PrintScrn but nothing.
Can anyone offer any advice before it ends up as landfill?
I have the same problem with an Allwinner T8 team.
I have a 2016 jeep renegade sport plus. Supposedly the android team is a winca S300.
And it was in a loop, it does not start the system and it stays in the android logo.
I saw a way for the system to update itself.
1) the key must be connected - without starting - just making contact - power -
2) when the device reaches the android logo, it must be reset.
3) When the equipment is restarted, before the logo appears, the ignition key must be turned and removed.
4) After that, the start key must be reconnected. This should bring up an update banner.
The problem is finding that software, which should be previously installed on a flash drive.
Does anyone know how to get it?

My Px5 just locked up

Hey all,
So i have this android 8 Secaine head unit in my truck. Yesterday it booted and failed. It shows try again and factory reset as options. But none of the touch buttons will move the selection. I plugged in a mouse and can scroll up and down but it will not activate either selection. It was working fine the other day. When i press the reset button it will reboot show the navigation software logo then go to the screen i have attached a photo of in this thread.
Any Ideas ? Is this a hardware failure ? Can i use a jump drive to re-flash the mcu ?
Thanks.
Well, there are 2 points visible...
Try again
Factory data reset
Seems you need to try the second one in this case.
It is written in the yellow colored part how to switch and choose.
Yes i saw that but nothing you touch on the head unit will move the selection or allow you to enable it. The touch function on the radio is gone. I can how ever move up and down the 2 options by plugging in my mouse, but clicking on one of the options does nothing.

If you don´t have physical buttons, take some USB-keyboard and use the arrow keys and the enter key.
Going to try that this weekend and cross my fingers. I have a few MCU's that are specific to this model i can try to flash if i can get it to factory reset. Just hoping the hard drive hasnt failed or the Rom is ok. It has been hot here this week.

Just get it out of the car and on your desk, connected to a 12V power supply.
That is nothing which should be done in the car, at least not if it is hot or stone cold.
