Hi,
I want to install LineageOS 15.1 on my Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505) to get Oreo on it, and I understand LineageOS is probably the closest to AOSP there is (correct me if I'm wrong). I'd like for all device functions to work (especially important ones like voice call, SMS, GPS, WiFi, BlueTooth, camera, etc), so it sort of has to be "daily driver" ready.
I also want it rooted with Magisk.
Is this possible? If so, what are the exact steps to do so? I've rooted other phones before but not a S4.
Thanks!
Anyone? It can't seem to find a LineageOS 15.1 for the jfltexx. Was able to find 14, 16 and 17.1 but they seem to be "unofficial" build. Are there stable builds, and if so, what's the latest stable version?
Thanks!

I still use my stock rom for my ZE601KL.
I wanna change to cyanogenmod but I still confused which one to use because 14.1 still nightlies
Is 14.1 far superior than 13?
Or "14.1 is good but that's it"?
Btw, I still have 9 months warranty, should I stay or get cm now cause it's that much more superior than zenui?
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks.
You can test any rom starting from cm 13 to cm 14.1, if you want to save your data, use TWRP to backup your stock rom and flash cm rom. If you dont like it, you can switch to stock without losing your data
hi. firstly, sorry my bad english. i dont speak much. thank you.
i have been using g2 for 3.5 years.
I've used google edition 1.5 rom before. (1-2week)
i use lineageos 14.1 (last 5 months.) (now, 14.1 latest version.)
i like the lg quick remote app, can i found for this lineage os? and how i install?
I use a stock application in the ROM as a camera application.
I am looking for a more beautiful and useful camera application.
I've heard of apps like snapdragon and google camera. but I could not find the versions for lineage os 14.1.
I would like to recommend the best camera application for lg g2 los 14.1. and of course where to find him.
If you also recommend other nice, useful applications, I am very satisfied.
thanks.
again, sorry if my english is bad.
(thanks google translate)
Hi everybody
I ve a lg v20 h990n with a security patch of 2019 february .
1-is there a way to root it ?
2- what is the best custom rom
Thank you
Guide , use the latest twrp from here, and instead of the kernel from the guide, I'd use mk2000.
As for roms, H990s don't get too much attention unfortunately, but to start I'd just grab this stock flashable zip to get back to a recent version of oreo. As for proper custom roms, Lineage 15.1 is pretty solid, though the second screen doesn't work (its set to stay blank), I recommend using Gamma kernel with Lineage 15.1, while Lineage 16.0 is still kinda early, but is getting more stable slowly.
Hello,
I will receive my RN7 in few days to replace my old RN3P.
I don't want to continue to use google apps. I want to use MicroG but i need a custom rom with signature spoofing enabled.
What is the best rom? I don't need a rom with many tweeks. I like pure AOSP and Lineage OS but they haven't signature spoofing.
Thanks.
If you or someone else still seeks this like me back in March I compared the then candidates: crDroid 6.3, HavocOS 3.1, AospExtended 7 all based on Android 10. I did go with crDroid 6.3 and still have it (no updates because OTA / dirty flash is not possible and it seems not all updates worked flawlessly for others). crDroid 6.3 works well and I like the custom things. Now it seems a LineageOS 17.1 with MicroG is available, but I remain cautious about updating/changing because GCam EIS video performance is important for me and some say new ROMs use camera blobs which may cause EIS video problems. Latest AOSP base might even brake video recording (green screen).
Well, I've tested crDroid, AICP und LOS4MircoG for exactly this goal (= no google, no gapps etc)
The recommended crDroid 6.3 build (by @Chrismo) is a very good one, I had this in use until 3 weeks ago ..
Now I'm on this AICP build (https://dwnld.aicp-rom.com/device/lavender/WEEKLY/aicp_lavender_q-15.0-WEEKLY-20200701.zip) witch includes more actual security fixes and is a bit smoother in daily use (imho).
All the later builds (LineageOS4MicroG, crDroid, AICP) seem to have cam issues ..
hello, as title say i've got the tab a 10.1 2016 , lte version. i would like to install lineageos 18 (android 11) on this device, because it still work good and overall performance it's still good (not with the stock one, very slow). i tried this with twrp 3.5.0 (latest version), it flashes the img file, but it wont run and goes bootloop. then i flashed the modified twrp 3.2.3 for treble, flashed the treble.zip and the img file of lineageos (i seeked for a-only and 64bit version), but it ends in bootloop. so what's wrong with it? i noticed that only lineageos 16 gsi or other 9.0 roms run fine, going on android 10 gsi it wont be recognized. there's a way to get the android 11 gsi working on this device? it should be compatible, as from oreo it should be supported with treble project.
Hi. I am new to flashing but is it possible you have to upgrade the bootloader first in order to be able to upgrade to lineageOS 18 (android 11)? Just according to my understanding from that thread. if you have older bootloader then it wont work. But i am new so i might be wrong and totally off
i think that it doesn't depend on the bootloader, but the recovery hasn't been updated anymore by the developer. he might have lost interest in the device, so that stopped building roms too. the tablet was not that bad, but for my experience, too much slow and the battery didn't last so much. for these reasons i gave up and ended in selling it, replaced with the sm-t500 (tab a7 2020). waaay better tablet, now waiting for someone who unlocks this little beast and builds a custom recovery or rom.
