h990n dual sim root - LG V20 Questions & Answers

Hi everybody
I ve a lg v20 h990n with a security patch of 2019 february .
1-is there a way to root it ?
2- what is the best custom rom
Thank you

Guide , use the latest twrp from here, and instead of the kernel from the guide, I'd use mk2000.
As for roms, H990s don't get too much attention unfortunately, but to start I'd just grab this stock flashable zip to get back to a recent version of oreo. As for proper custom roms, Lineage 15.1 is pretty solid, though the second screen doesn't work (its set to stay blank), I recommend using Gamma kernel with Lineage 15.1, while Lineage 16.0 is still kinda early, but is getting more stable slowly.

Discussion: The best rom for sm-t580 and sm-t585

I want to find the best ROM for this tablet so that we all use the most stable ROM for this tablet
Which ROM do you think is the best for this tablet
at moment it seems that best rom is lineageos 18 or 17, but they lack of gps and sim support, as the developer hasn't got that device model and so he won't develop any rom for that, but only for wifi version. as i need gps working at least, i'm trying to get working android 11 gsi, but it ends in bootloop. i'm using modified twrp 3.2.3 treble-supported and flashed the latest treble.zip, but i think this is outdated, so you can only end up installing android 9 gsis and not above. very sad that lte variant not got sufficent support, because the tablet it's still good and overall performance also, but if can't try any new gsi, i'm thinking to sell it...

sm-t585 help of install gsi and android 11 gsi

hello, as title say i've got the tab a 10.1 2016 , lte version. i would like to install lineageos 18 (android 11) on this device, because it still work good and overall performance it's still good (not with the stock one, very slow). i tried this with twrp 3.5.0 (latest version), it flashes the img file, but it wont run and goes bootloop. then i flashed the modified twrp 3.2.3 for treble, flashed the treble.zip and the img file of lineageos (i seeked for a-only and 64bit version), but it ends in bootloop. so what's wrong with it? i noticed that only lineageos 16 gsi or other 9.0 roms run fine, going on android 10 gsi it wont be recognized. there's a way to get the android 11 gsi working on this device? it should be compatible, as from oreo it should be supported with treble project.
Hi. I am new to flashing but is it possible you have to upgrade the bootloader first in order to be able to upgrade to lineageOS 18 (android 11)? Just according to my understanding from that thread. if you have older bootloader then it wont work. But i am new so i might be wrong and totally off
i think that it doesn't depend on the bootloader, but the recovery hasn't been updated anymore by the developer. he might have lost interest in the device, so that stopped building roms too. the tablet was not that bad, but for my experience, too much slow and the battery didn't last so much. for these reasons i gave up and ended in selling it, replaced with the sm-t500 (tab a7 2020). waaay better tablet, now waiting for someone who unlocks this little beast and builds a custom recovery or rom.

Need help getting camera to work on stock rom 20f coming back from Lineage 18.1

I need some help getting camera to work on stock rom 20f by dimm0k after trying Lineage 18.1 and didn't prefer it. The camera app would launch, show the camera UI, but the lens doesn't turn on and the app just freezes. I tried restoring my backup of 20f, factory reset, formatted everything and installed 20f rom clean. But nothing is working. Reinstalling Lineage 18.1 does bring back the camera, but fingerprint sensor doesn't work in Lineage so I'd rather stick with Oreo. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks in advance.
rom I started with:
[ROM] [US996] US99610k/10l/10n/10o/10p/20f Stock ROM TWRP Flashable Zip KEEP ROOT!
with very little activity lately for the LGV20, especially with the unlocked US996 variant, I created a TWRP flashable package for the recent US99610k release. this zip flash every partition included in the latest KDZ package with the exception...

ROM with second-screen compability?

Hi! Im getting a V20 H915 (amazon just need to have it arrive to my door, any days now) and i was planning on rooting it to both debloat it and load a ligther OS.
But knowing that many of those ROM dosen't include the second-screen, is there any recommended ROM that I could use that include second-screen function.
(Hopefully a LineageOS build or even /e/ [if i can download apk of online games that I ussualy played on my current mobile])
All ROMs based on lineage 16.0 and above have second screen to my knowledge. If you need help rooting feel free to PM me.

Any ROM that is not stock-based will not have second screen functionality. In our ROMS, 2nd screen is used as the status bar that display time, connections, battery, etc. Unless LG provides the code to us (which they never will), any custom ROM that is not stock-based will not have a functional second screen that acts the way it does on stock. If you want it, download a stock-based ROM.
As far as I know, the AO (Alpha Omega) ROM is the only OREO Rom that has the LG 2nd screen.

[Solved] Most Stable rom for Mi A1 Tissot and some other relevant questions.

Hi,
Its been a long time since I last rommed any phone. Last Was my beloved 'Bacon' (Oneplus One) which I rommed till it died.
I am trying to install a custom rom on my wife's Mi A1. Have a few questions.
Which is the most stable rom (Android 11 preferred but if android 11 isn't stable then android 10 will do). Trying to replace the boring stock rom with some much needed features. but don't need a super tweaked up rom. Stability is most important. : edit: installed lineage 18.1.
Can I directly flash TWRP 3.6.0_9-0-tissot over stock? As with Bacon, I needed to flash One recovery then another to get a version jump. like I cant directly flash twrp 3.x over stock. I needed to flash TWRP 2.xy and then 3.0. (example, not real version numbers.)
I don't need root. But I do need the device to pass SafetyNet as I need it to operate apps like Gpay (which does not work if device fails SafetyNet).
Can I re lock the bootloader after flashing TWRP? Would it help with SafetyNet situation?
OpenGapps still good?

1. There are plenty of stable roms, you can look at Xiaomi Mi A1 ROMs section to check them.
2. You can directly flash TWRP on stock rom.
3. ?
4. No
5. I use roms with pre-installed GApps for stablity.
