I have a J5 Pro SM-J530Y variant.
I installed several Custom ROMs from ROM Section. Most of them said that their Custom ROMs support all models of J5 Pro (2017). But, after I install it, it has a bug on Baseband which is Unknown. I tried many ways to fix it, like restoring EFS and Modem backup, reflash Modem And BL file via Odin, and also reinstall ROM twice. They said that I need to upgrade my device's bootloader (firmware) to the latest one. I did it but still Baseband became unknown Everytime I install their Custom ROM.
Then I doing a research. The problem is on Kernel. I tried to restore "Magisk Patched Stock Kernel" after installing those custom ROMs, Baseband is fixed. I also tried other way by replacing boot.img-dtb and boot.img-zImage from stock kernel to custom kernel, and it's fixed the problem. Problem solved here for OneUI custom kernels only, because there's only OneUI with working Baseband kernel for my device (stock kernel obviously).
But, then, I found a thread that we can install GSI on this device. I tried to install one (treble GSI). Most of them are bootable, but the problem come again. Baseband Unknown. I tried to fix it using the way I did before but it got bootloop. I also tried to replace boot.img-dtb and boot.img-zImage from stock kernel (OneUI) to custom treble kernel for my device, it got bootloop. Of course, because I use stock kernel base OneUI not AOSP.
How to fix this? Anyone please help me to fix this issue. There's no development for my J5 Pro SM-J530Y variant. I need guidance to fix the Baseband Unknown which is causing by Kernel. I also need a guidance to fix or edit boot.img-dtb and boot.img-zImage, do I need a device tree blob files? Please tell me how to do. Please help

Hi all, im really hoping someone can help, and that what ive done is reversible.
After rooting I tried installing the alliance rom (lollipop) on my n610f, i got a boot loop so restored the backup rom using CWM without any problems, i read on the alliance rom page that id need a different bootloader and modem, i got what i thought were the correct one and put them on using odin, did a wipe and tried again, same bootloop. Except this time when i restore the backup rom i still have the same boot loop.
If anyone has a fix for this id be eternally grateful.
Fixed it by flashing N910FXXU1B OB4 [Lollipop 5.0.1] bootloader and modem
What did you flash? Modem or bootloader..? I think the best solution is, flash stock firmware via odin, then try again.
I have a yu yureka running on cm11 kitkat stock rom on which i tired to flash twrp. I flashed the right files but now the phone is stuck in bootloop. How do i fix this? I tried searching a lot but the only solution i found was to flash the stock firmware. All the links to download files are broken. Can anyone help me? Im a newbie at this stuff.

Click to collapse
Remove battery
Hold volume up
Insert battery
Connect usb cable
Enter fastboot command
Unlock bootloader
Flash twrp
Format data and cache
Flash custom ROM
Your method will not work
method will not work. I fixed it after a lot of trying.
Solution: Flash an old version of TWRP(like 2.8). Kitkat doesn't support the newer versions of TWRP. This is why flashing new TWRP doesn't work. Now install the stock ROM of KitKat cm11 and install Stock recovery. UPDATE cm 11 to cm12 using official updates using stock recovery. Now flash new TWRP and it will work. I don't use this site a lot but if you ever see someone askung this then this method will work.
hi
I need custom ROM for J730F (modem and bootloader are currently flashed from stock J730FXXU5CSG3) flashed via twrp zip file
i tested several roms like prometeus, blackbird and others but all of them didn't boot simcard and network
i tested cronos kernel for oneUI with those roms but usually rom doesn't even boot after kernel changed or like in blackbird rom phone gets huge lags on this cronos kernel
i wish to get any ROM what working with simcard and could be flashed directly via twrp 3.3.0.0
can you help me please
i have J730f and i have a touch problem after update to android 9 U5 official firmware .
the problem is the same on android 8
because U5 i can't downgrade to android 7
so to solve the touch i must install android 7 based custom rom
when i installed the REFINED_NOTE8_V5.1 rom every thing is fine but no cellular signal.
i checked and i found that imei and baseband are unknown
i try with an other rom (Clean_Nougat_Stock_V2.7) but i have the same problem no imei and no baseband
1)Flash stock kernel
OR
2) flash bootloader (BL) and modem(CP) and home CSC of your stock from using Odin, but without system(AP) ,system will remain as custom rom
OR
3)flash stock rom...iflash twrp....in twrp back up boot, modem ,efs file...
Reboot...now flash custom rom..reboot in recovery restore boot, modem and efs ..that's it
Try any one of these
hello, not sure if this is possible but needing to fix my efs partition as its corrupt, wrong serial and no imei number just 000's, i had a problem and updated my phone to the lastest stock firmware. Recently put custom rom back on. If any can help that would be great, thanks
You can't.. without matching binary combination rom and efs backup. Sadly, latest combination roms aren't available for s7 series.
