Nope....i don't use phone while charging

Are you using any custom kernel? Could you try charging it once with the phone completely switched off and check how long it takes? Are you using the original accessories coming with the phone? Is the charger directly connected to the wall or on an electric adaptor?

Nope any custom kernel or Unlocked bootloaderl, not even rooted as it's brand new device I got 2 days back...yes yesterday I completely drained device to 0% and then charged to 100% and above mentioned charge timing I noticed during charging...yes I'm using original accessories which came with phone....yes charger connected directly to wall... Thats why I'm concerned and posted here to help... Thanks

I don't have any complaint about Battery backup or not even screen issue in my one Plus 8 Pro..whole device working fine except this Charging Time....just concerned about Charging Time thats all

Could be the cable that came with the device that *might* be defective, I see nothing else. If you bought it from a local reseller, try to see with the shop maybe? If you bought it online, then you may want to buy a good quality USB-C cable, those made for charging the ultrabooks, for example. Wish you luck!

Could you have a soul sucking app or widget that is putting a little strain on the battery or is it pretty much fresh out of the box? I know I have a weather widget that is the Bain of my existence but I like the way it looks so I put up with an extra 25 minutes to charge the battery.

Yeah I use Overdrop Weather App and it's Widget... The issue here is maybe the power point where I plug my charger maybe that's underpowered....so I tried today on overpowered power point usually uses for Refrigerator or Washing Machine I plugged there my One Plus 8 Pro and magic happened my phone was on 45% and it went to fully 100% just in 45 minutes... So for now I figured out that issue was in power point not in My device. Hope it's true ?

Having another device and cable to carry around works, but is a pain...
my battery easily lasts a day. I can get through a full 9 hour day of work and still have 78% battery left. Not to mention I left my phone off the charger last night, got up 10 hours later and the battery only went down 3%
You sure you dont have any programs open? Also I don't use a task manager if that means anything to u

I bought this, it took about 2 weeks to get to me,(but for 12.99 for 2 batteries and a wall charger) as it was coming from hongkong, but got it yesterday, and its great, 2 extra batteries, and a wall charger so now i dont even need to charge my phone, i let the battery die so i can train them right, and just pop in a fully charged one when needed. the charger even has a usb hookup like the original wall charger that came with it, so really you could charge an extra battery, plus the one in the phone through the usb cable. The batteries are the same as the stock one that came with the phone. I wish i would have done this with my G1, instead of spending 90 bucks on 1 extra battery that didnt even have an external charger.

That would work, but I use the phone most of the day. It is not idle.
I take my phone off the charger at 5am @ 100%
Text most of the day at work with a 30 minute phone call at lunch...
Some moderate browsing and gaming...
I get home around 530pm, and "usually" have around 40%...

They are Samsung batteries, they look exactly like the one that came with my phone( down to the details written on the battery, only different thing is the date which was from 6/10 where the one with my phone was 7/10 and the s/n number), so I would say yes it is the same quality.

i bought the same set of batteries and charger. i'm still going through the charging/cycling phases with these new batteries. i'm not sure if they are on par with the stock batteries but i'll soon find out after a few more charges.
I am still doing that also, but I have to say that the wall charger is worth the money so even if the batteries don't work out, at least I have this awesome dual wall charger!

so far. the batteries are not on par with the stock battery. i work eight hours shifts. my battery runs down to 35-40 pct with moderate usage i.e. facebook, youtube, casual browsing by the time i leave work.
these ebay batteries drain all the way down to 5 pct by the time i leave work and on the eigth hour. i'm on my third charge cycle. hopefully i'll see some improvement this week.
here's what i have running in the background on my phone at work the whole day:
aquarium live wallpaper
facebook widget
twitter widget
beautiful widgets clock
engadget widget
tikl push to talk app.
each widget is set to update every two hours

I got the same type of deal on ebay, 2 batteries & the charger (did the same thing with my MT3G as well), it's always nice having extra batteries, and I can use the charger when I'm traveling (it will also charge up my PSP). Now just need to get a mini to micro USB adapter and I have one less cable to carry around for charging - although I recently got an external drive for data storage, so I guess I will need a second cable if I want to tether my phone and use the external drive.
The batteries are not as good as stock and one seems to hold a charge better than the other (have to mark them so I remember which is which - these are generic one without the Samsung label), but as I train them via charge, use until dead, swap, charge, this should at least max them out a bit. The ones I had for my MT3G actually outperformed the original battery that came with so was hoping for the same. But considering how cheap these are, I could even pick up a couple more.

Those batteries from Hong Kong are not an original Samsung battery, they are just compatibles.
The lasting power of a li-on battery depends not just on the mAh, also the circuit inside the battery counts much of it.
The circuit takes care of the special sleep modes and energy saving features of a battery.
Samsung has its own energy saving codes that can not be put into a common compatible batteries.
This is why an original one is much more expensive than a compatible ones.
Extended battery for the vibrant, lasts twice as long and great door
Check this out: Moretalktime's feedback is 100% and the door is soft rubberized--better than stock IMO. It cradles well in your hand in a very comfortable position and lasts over twice as long.

Re: Batteries not lasting all day
I'd like to throw in an observation on this thread. My battery life is quite good on my Vibrant. Lasts all day easily but there are a couple of things to take notice of. First, I do not use any task killers or such, but I do check if there are any running programs with the built in task manager and stop them once I'm through with them. I've found that Voice Search and Web Access continue to run even after I've closed or backed out of them. Thus the need for use of task manager. But here's what I really found out. I've always charged my phone using the wall adapter with USB cable plugged into it. Never had a problem with battery life. Then for some reason, I decided to start using the USB cable attached to my computer. It would charge as normal and each morning it showed 100% charged. But after about 1 week of using the USB cable from the PC to charge the phone, I started having the horrible battery issues that I've read about. Extremely fast discharge. Leave at 8am and have like 50% use at noon. Crazy. So I started using the wall charger again and the phone has returned to its original state, easily lasting all day. Just a heads up for some of you guys having battery problems. No idea why this has happened but I've confirmed it. Maybe the Power Management thing on the USB ports on the PC?
I just saw this thread after a search on Google. I already posted elsewhere, but this looks like it might be the battery some of you are looking for.

If nothing else, they also sell a 1600mAh battery which is 100mAh larger than the stock battery and still fits unter the stock cover. Good Luck

T-Mobile HD2 takes too long to recharge the battery

Hello folks, I am very concerned with my HTC HD2 as it takes like over 4 hours to fully recharge the battery. I have got this HD2 from the market here on XDA and it works very good overall, except for this problem when recharging it. I thought it was the charger and I have tried many usb to wall chargers even the the iPhone's 4 one, but nothing has changed.
I have also tried several roms and kernels but nothing has changed on this side as well. I wiped everything and put back win mobile 6.5 T-mobile stock rom, but hey, no difference here too..
I am wondering if there might be something wrong with the phone itself or can it be the battery going in holiday???....
How can I figure this out???
I have downloaded Battery Doctor from the market and it says the battery is in good health, and I get up to 14 hours with a full charge with mytouch 4G rom and kernel rafpigna 1.7 cpu 1.3Ghz OC.
Is anyone else experiencing the same problem ??? do you guys have any suggests ???
This problem is driving me really crazy...

Anyways I was thinking to get the battery extended 2300mah
How many hours does your battery last???
Are you using the original HD2 charger? I have tried many different chargers and they always charge at a different rate. It has to be that, not the battery.

Unfortunately it came with its original charger broken and I have never had the pleasure to try with it.. Anyways I am using a charger that has the same specs of the original one, which is the usb charger of the iPhone 4, and yea same result ...
I have downloaded currentwidget from the market and it gets less than 200mA of current in, when it usually should get around 400mA, sometimes the value goes down to 200mA as well, which makes me really wonder the problem might be the usb port of the phone .
Does a broken battery does that as well??

I think it has to do with the charger you're using . When I charge mine I usually see anything from 500+mA to 700+mA on my battery monitor widget depending on how much charge the battery has, and like Segnale007 said it usually takes about 2 hrs to fully charge.

I can't say it's the battery cause you say it lasts you 14 hours, usb port? maybe. Your battery is good for it to last that much (on averge usage of course). It's the different charger that you're using.

That's your issue there, 0.2A (aka 200mA).
The UK HD2 charger for example, is 1A (aka 1000mA).
To work out the maximum time it should take to charge the battery:
(capacity x inefficiency factor) / charging current
(1230 x 1.15)/200 = 7 hours
(1230 x 1.15)/1000 = 1.4 hours

That charger only delievers 0.2 A which is 200ma , you need at least a 500ma charger, mine is a 1 A ( 1000 ma ) and its quite normal to see a 700 ma rate while charging..

Take a look on ebay or any local phone shop/online phone accessory shop.
You want a micro usb charger that has an output current of at least 500mA/0.5A
The original HTC ones are 1000mA.
Blackberry ones I've seen are 700mA so they're good enough.
200mA isn't a problem, it won't damage your battery, in fact it will live slightly longer as it's being put under less stress when charging, but don't use your phone while you're charging with it as you'll be drawing more current than the charger can supply.
So for instance, if you wanted a car charger so you could use the phone as a satnav and talk via bluetooth, you'd need a 1A charger to cope with the drain on the battery.

With very, very light use about 55 hrs. That's not extended.
Alright, my dad has managed to temporary fix its original charger and I can confirm there's nothing wrong with the battery and the phone itself. It gets beyond 800mA with the original charger and fully recharge the batter within an hour and half, which is great..
Ok now I have to find a compatible USB to wall charger with the same frequency.
Since its a T-Mobile US HD2 its original charger is american, and since I am in Italy I'd get an Italian standard wall charger. Does the Italian HD2 original wall charger has the same frequency of the american one??
Thanks

Nexus 4 charging issue and wireless charging

So I've had my Nexus 4 for a couple months now and I've taken really good care of it. It's pretty mint. But today it refuses to charge and I have a phone interview for a job on Thursday and I really need this little guy to work. I have CM 10.1 and thought maybe it could be related to that in some way. Maybe it's just kinda glicthy right now? But the last time I was using the phone it died and I put it on the charger and an hour later it wouldn't turn on. I've tried 3 different chargers and none of them give me the little battery charging image or light up my LED notification light. Any troubleshooting ideas? If not, can anyone recommend a cheap wireless charger that works very well? Thanks for your help in advance, I really need to get my phone working immediately.

what other chargers do you have at your disposal? Ideally you should use one with a rating of minimum of 1 amp. The stock charger is rated at 1.2 amps. For your case, if the 1 amp charger doesn't work, try a 1.5 or 2 amp charger for 30 minutes or so. See if that works.
Did you drop your phone or hit it against something?

Heating problem

Last night I've put my phone to charge until morning, and I've put the phone under a pillow because I have a one person bed and I don't want to hit it with my legs. In the morning, when I took the phone out....
The phone was extremely HOT! And I know where the parts are in this phone, and not the motherboard heatead up so much, the battery! I was so scared because this thing could explode in my hands or could've exploded last night.
Also, when I saw the phone the notification led was blinking blue, but after cooling the phone I couldn't see any notification. Is that a alert or something to say that your phone is hot?
I don't want to have a "note 7" clone when charging in my house.
I have this phone for just 6 months. Also the battery right now drops percent like per minute, really weak.
Does anyone had this problem too?
Here are screenshots:
Also, I am not using original charger because was too slow. I am using an 5V 2A charger. Now my battery stays at "normal" at 40C°
Is that normal?

I have found this in my manual. I will keep my eyes all day on my phone and will see if I will go to the service or not.
But I have bootloader unlocked, the phone was disassembled before, the water indicator is red, so I'm going to have to pay.
It happened to me. One thing I noticed that my phone was in wake lock. It never happened to me again. I think I was using LOS 14 at that time.

Every phone has heating problems. Few days ago i readed some articles and that stated: consumers should remove the custom cases when charging the phone. Do not keep your phone while charging on surfaces that stores heat (eg. your pillow), and try to not keep your phone on charge overnight. Even if its at 35-45% you should leave it so and wake up 30 min earlier every morning and charge again if you need more battery. 100% charge its not a good idea.
Remember you cant change battery easy, removing the back case its a pain, try to take care of your device, or you gonna buy a new phone soon

Also, I am not using original charger because was too slow. I am using an 5V 2A charger. Now my battery stays at "normal" at 40C°
Is that normal?

Of course not......You are using 2A charger.....It would obviously heat your device up
and yes ......2 A charger won't help with speeding up charging it would burn your IC instead..Your phone won't take in more than 1 Amp thats a factory limit and can't be unlocked without a custom kernel but still it's not safe.. Don't use that charger .....It's a placeboo that it charges faster ?

Charging my S5 with non-OEM cable?

Hey guys, yesterday i noticed something strange: it took 3+ hours to charge my S5 from 8% to 100%. I remember that it used to take around 2 hours at the very maximum from 0% to 100%. Then i remembered that my cable with which I'm charging is not the original one (it got cut long ago) but the charger itself is the original. Is something wrong with my battery? Is the charger bad? Should i search for an OEM usb cable? I don't mind it if it charges for longer as i charge it at night but still, this got me a bit worried that it can degrade my battery overall by keeping it hot for longer than needed. Thanks for any answers.

My phone gets hot when I use a non OEM cord as well. But its never hurt my phone. I've been doing it for probably a year now. As for the longer charge time is it suddenly taking longer with this cord or is it taking longer because you are now using the cord?

Well not sure as i mostly charge it at night. But my phone's battery life is normal while using it (atleast for now), just curious why it takes so long to charge.
Different cords have different capabilities depending how they were made. There's even some that only give power and no data transfer. Samsung makes fast charge technology for their devices. Other cords may or may not support it.

Hm, I always thought that fast charging is inside the charger itself and not the cord. Might get an official Samsung one then. Thanks for the info mate

It comes with the USB cord as well. And I'm pretty sure fast charge tech is both the handset and the charger itself. I read the charger is 1.5x faster then a normal one even if its not going to a device with fast charge and 2x faster if it is. I didn't mean to quote myself either. Lol
