With root access it would be possible (using TitaniumBackup or so) as its a system app but I wouldn't recommend doing so. If for whatever reason Smartlauncher would fail (wonky update, could happen), there will be nothing to fall back to. There could also be other system elements that depend on its existence. For about a 35MB profit, I don't think it's worth the risk.
But feel free to remove it and report back!

I don't want to screw up my phone, and not sure which apps I can safely freeze.
Can someone upload a list of what they successfully froze, without messing up something else?

Get some ideas here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470862 The benefit of freezing is that you can always unfreeze if you have an issue.
I've removed 82 apps without and issues at all.

By letting them know that at least 82 apps can be removed, it's a bit more helpful than your statement. I plan on putting up a list today.
Here is the list of apps that I've deleted, I froze them at first then deleted them the following day.

Yes, with missing link it looks really weird Sorry for that, it's fixed now
One thing I have to say - you really depend on many customization options... totally different type of usage if compared to what I expect from my Z3C.
I only use stock apps, stock launcher and no serious mods except some Xposed ones which are essential for me to use my phone daily.
Maybe it's because it was always difficult for me to set up everything and I had no time to test different setups... I'm that kind of lazy guy
Anyway I don't really have too much to say about your setup but you provided nice description of your apps and settings!
'Cause I was bored waiting for the next beta of MM, I decided to implement your suggestions. You're right, these make for a nice Android experience on my Z3c. I'm curious to see what effect there is on battery.
Hello guys !
In this tutorial I will teach you guys to access stock data usage without root.
Data usage is present by default in android phones but for some reason it is hidden.
So,here is the method.
1. Download the app "HiddenApp Launcher".
2. Look for Data Usage in the list and long press it.
3. It will create a shortcut of Data Usage.
4. DONE.

I don't know if we're talking about the same thing, but afaik there is nothing hidden with the Honor 5x as this is the 4th options in the settings in Stock firmware, same with all Samsung devices or small chinese brands devices... ^^LOL

We aren't talking about the same thing. I'm talking about stock data manager which is usually present in settings>more>data usage.
And obvio it isn't hidden in Samsung phones. ?
I have KlW-L21. Well after doing a bit of search i have come to know that in my VARIANT of phone THAT option is missing in traffic management app. Like seriously. ?
Hello,
I need help with a Redmi Pro (not pro 3), which I bought in the Philippines (it was pretty legit and sealed, but the global rom was installed by default by God knows who...), and now I am starting to get random pop up ads like the one in the screencap bellow, giving me the disappointing feeling that my phone is a freebie...
Now I'm starting to even wonder if my personal information and privacy in the apps I use is compromised. Should I?
Please point me in the right direction to get rid of this, even if this means whipping the phone and re-installing a new clean rom. I am a total newbie with Android, I come from iPhone where this kind of practice is just inconceivable. But I use computers a lot and hopefully I can understand your explanations.
Thank you so much.

You havent official rom , its a distributor rom , I suggest you to install a new rom.
but You can try three ways
1-Delete the app that cause the ad popup (if it doesnt work try step 2)
2-Format the phone (if this dont work either try step 3)
3-Install official firmware or xiaomi.eu rom
and i think its a rootkit but i cant find anything about it

The member that replied to your post that you are quoting actually had hidden a spam link in response -- hence it not being applicable, relating, or helpful.
I've had the same issues that you are having, but can you not simply uninstall that ThreatTrack Security Firewall from the Program and Features? Removing it should remove its hold on your firewall settings and whatever influence in your system -- but if it is truly a rogue nefarious program, you should search for any registry keys or leftover files in your system; maybe even run a malware & virus scan...
Yeah I figured it out last night what was doing it lol I feel stupid
