Hello all,
Can anyone explain the file structure significance? I believe the 427c4ecc-c1fc-11e8-b558-cb289b80f7d2.0 - 0.4 files make up the system.img. What is 43864958-c1fc-11e8-b9ce-0701f06faf8a?
PS: It seems there is problem with this file. system.img will not extract, software will load but not boot.

I didn't test it yet. But I'm interested in where to get these custom roms for this device. And mcu update files maybe.

Any updates about device manufacturer?
I've checked out this thread on 4pda.ru: Head devices Topway TS9 (Spreadtrum SC9853I) Android 8.1 - Discussion | MCU Version Ts9.4.3-xxx-xx-xxxxx-xxxxxx Series
But they are talking about android 8.1 TS9-devices and also still don't gave me useful information.
Is there anyone with same hardware?

Same here. Software installed successfully, but will not boot. It hangs on the car logo screen. I had to flash back original software. How to solve this problem?

Hi ! Is this firmware Android 8.1? I'm using Android 9.
Can you leave feedback after upgrading please?
Is this official rom or custom firmware? I would be glad to hear from you. :fingers-crossed:

Good to go. Looks like original firmware, all stock, installed today with no issues.
My multimedia is Preling Tesla style for Opel one. 4/64 ts9. Dont think it is kind difference between firmwares, once disassembled a lot of them, this one by tw.
As well used magisk root recovery, all is working.
Asked seller for new firmware for one hundred times and found it myself on internet by mistake =). BTW all this is not 9 android like it called in info it is 8.1. Also get info regarding upcoming android 10. Will see. Personally waiting for RedMode firmware because of buttons reassignment possibility.
PS. Is it any good rom maker or hard experienced app modifier with this kind of multimedia?

Yes, I asked the seller for new firmware and mcu updates, too. More often. They answered only, no new firmware at this time. I could not believe that because mine was released on december 2019.
So, this (new) firmware you have is android 8.1, isn't it?

Sorry, but I don't know. My experiences in app development and disassembling are a little bit outdated.
P.S.: Do you know an working autostart app for this multimedia? I have tried out many apps, but all of them are not working.

A couple of small improvements. I think this is the last available ROM on the market now. Have root and launcher with opel sedan logo on desktop implemented.
Have one annoying bug with original Bluetooth application. It is double skipping forward backward ie one press two track forward. Think that problem is partially hardware issued.
BTW all the firmwares for this multimedia is 8.1.
Hope somewhen redmod for ts9 tesla will be released once i need key relearn feature.

Thanks for your reply.
So, now I'm pretty unsure to keep my stock android 9 and waiting for upgrades or downgrade to android 8.1
Do you know if root is working on android 9?
What will you do in my case? What I want is root and future updates, of course.

UltraOcta-T8 upgrade to Android 8.1

Hi all
I have a 9" UltraOcta-T8 (I think it is the AllWinner) and it is running Android 7.1.2
Is there an upgrade path to Oreo at all.
Here is a pic of the About screen showing MCU and System version ( for some reason I cannot upload an image)
MCU version: 5.3. 19-63-84-C06101-170705
System Version: V9.2.2_20171013. 154052_TW2-FD
Thanks
Lance
I was hoping you had a solution too, I love the head unit but I think it could be a better experience with 8.0 on it, it's been over a year without a reply on this thread.

Yes, there is an upgrade path using Phoenix Suite. I upgraded from 7.1 to 8.1 around 2 weeks ago and the head unit now feels snappier and it hasn't crashed yet when using various sat nav apps which it used to sometimes on 7.1. Boot time is slightly faster and I've found it connects via bluetooth to my phone automatically every time I get in the car. Under 7.1 it was quite sporadic.
There is a post on the main T8 Allwinner thread which you will have to look for. You'll need a laptop, Phoenix Suit, 8.1 ROM which is in the post (I've now flashed the JP variant of 8.1 which is stable), Male to Male USB cable to connect laptop to head unit.
The instructions in said post are a little hard to understand, but it only took me about 15 minutes after I'd downloaded the software and ROMs.

Thank you, this got me pointed in the correct direction, only thing I'm worried about is losing BT capability since I read that happens a lot.
some high-tech may support upgrade
most devices can't upgrade from 7 to 8 version. It depends on whether your head unit support upgrade. need to reach out to seller.

That was one of my concerns also, I had no issues though. Just make sure you take note of the config in the extra settings. Once you've flashed your final ROM, check the settings are the same and reboot the head unit 3 or 4 times (not sure why, but seen it said a few times).

You can upgrade from 7.1 to 81 on the UltraOcta T8 AllWinner devices. It's just a bit of pain as you need to use laptop etc... but once you have everything together it's quick and easy.
The only thing I'm not sure on is the downgrade path (8.1 to 7.1) should you need it. Thankfully I've found 8.1 (v9.3.1_20181109.180710_JP3-FD) to be much more stable than 7.1 (9.2 JP1-FD).
Which thread did you say the instructions were in?
I can't seem to find the thread when i search for allwinner t8 update

A noob in need

Hello everyone,
I bought an Android radio around 2016/2017, and I was happy with it. It had a few issues but ultimately it was pretty nice. Over the next couple years I only received one update through online download in not long after my purchase, after that nothing. Some apps stopped working so I emailed the company I purchased it from multiple times for help with a few things, and they never emailed me back. Then the military moved me and I lost my car for months, and became super busy. I think the business (elite evolved) has since home it off business. Now I'll get straight to the meet and potatoes, I know like to nothing about computers but I am willing to learn and staying with me head unit seems like a good idea. I don't know what, what the MCU is (I think at first people thought you had to use the one from the specific manufacturer but now they're interchangeable), I think I know what it stands thanks to some fortune forums, I don't know what mtcd, mtce is. I also don't really grasp firmware. I really want to update my radio but I only have the gist on things but there are things I'd like to understand first. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I believe my Android head until is a Dasaita 6.0
You need to go to the settings menu and see what that says at about device and note all the information there, it will say something about the main processor i.e. rk3188 or something and the MTC version (b c d )
You will need the basics to get further on looking for an update

Your MCU is an MTCE, meaning that it is a 64bit unit and it is a PX5.
I guess you cannot find a straightforward brand upgrade for your device, but as it is a PX5 MTCE you can choose from several custom ROMs from Malaysk and HAL9K. They have ROMs for Android 6.0.1 and for Android 8.0.0, with upgrade paths (in most cases).
So concluding: You are on android 6, but it might even be possible to upgrade to Android 8.
Please read carefully before you do anything.
Personally I'm on a FYT unit and do not know much about the MTC(D)(E) units

That's why I mentioned to carefully read these threads. They explain how to do that. It is useless to repeat what they have already written.
Otherwise search Youtube for Hal9K and Malaysk.

For example: In the HAL9K it clearly describes:

This method is also suitable for a full recovery of HU with Android 8 or 6 if it does not boot, including even in recovery.
Download and unpack the archive Hal9k_Mod_3.x_Android_6.0_upgrade.rar

No there is no update and I'm for 99,5% sure there will not come an update anymore now that the new Intels are coming in and the PX5s are slowly phased out.
Eunavi claims they will have a 9.0 firmware for their PX5 units this month. Maybe others will update as well.

I can confirm this to work with Pixel 2 running Android 9.0 using both wired and wireless.
It's not installing Android 9.0 directly onto the head unit but it will mirror any source android phone as long as it's 4.1+.

The OP asks whether he can upgrade his PX5 to Android 9. Not whether he can use an Android 9 phone/device with his unit.
That's a big difference and mirroring your phone to your head unit might be enough, but it is always a big functionality limitation when comparing it with the full head unit functionality.
For me the only concern with older Android versions it the lack of support when it comes to security patches by those Chinese suppliers. Joying (and all the others) simply stop supplying security updates even though the Android 8.0 version on the PX5 is still fully supported.
Using Android auto or headunit reloaded does not change that. It might even make it worse (and especially with z-link)

You are completely right. I had overseen his second question. sorry.
Headunit reloaded should/might work.
Z-link only works with phone versions up to 8.1 with the PX-5.
The new 9853i (8.1) does work with Android 9 phones. It might be worth trying to install that z-link version onto the PX5 to see whether that works.

No.
The PX5 8.0 firmware is an ARM64 android. The intel airmont 8.1 firmware is an x86_64 android.
They are completely incompatible. And then there is the differences in other hardware requiring other drivers.

Im lookin to replace my com.syu.amp from my actual 8.0 system. How can I get a new/different one? I saw that Joying is showing a new parametric EQ in the 8.1 set. And the HU dont have a DPS hardware. So.. Is there a way to take some Archives from android 8.1 to use it on 8.0?
Thanks in advance Surfer!

I don't think so.
And the com.syu.eq is the "visual" equalizer. I'm afraid the difference in hardware is too big to make it work. And I also think that other libraries and drivers are required.

My problem is that EQ is not doing that would be at all. 7 bands and and every one of this acts as HPF. Its imposible get a good spot.
On system/priv-app/ there are 2 folders related to audio, one is the 180000000_com.syu.amp that inside has an .apk called AMP.
And de second folder is com.syu.eq that has the Eq executable.
Maybe trying with the last Joying web firmware to px5 from november 2018? What do you think?
Thanks again for your help.

Sorry. I really don't know. I already mentioned my doubts and have no further experiene with it, and know nobody who has.
Would it be possible to see if the Z-Link apk (from new Intel Joying) can work on the 8.0 (PX5). If someone can extract the apk and share it from the device itself? I've tried downloading the firmware, and extract the system.img but I can't go any further than that for now. I need to figure out how to extract ext4 images on a mac.

You have a Sofia unit. That unit is running Android 6.0.1. That does not support phones with Android 8.x. There is no firmware that will help you.
You should better take a look at HUR: Head Unit Reloaded. It is made by an XDA developer.

What info? From the supplier or the website or on your unit?
I don't see that from your images.
Also: A Sofia running on android 8.0? That would be the first that I know of (but I don't know everything , not by far )
Your 2nd image shows a Bluetooth version of 6.0.1.-23. That version is not correct, but is shows Android 6.0.1 with some kernel version.
Anyway: Even if your Sofia is running Android 8, there is no (custom) firmware available that will allow it to pair with an android phone on 8.x or newer.
Thank you for the explanation surfer.
That means i cannot install any of the firmware on this forum?

Probably not. Maybe you can install the gtxaspec custom rom, but only if your funrover is 100% identical with a Joying Sofia (which is possible).
Normally there is a fyt.prop where the company is defined. For Joying that id is 43. So even if you use that custom rom, you first need to change the id in the custom ROM to the Funrover id, otherwise your MCU will give problems.
And even in that case: your android phone 8 will still not be supported in Android auto/Easyconnected.
So my advice: Don't even try that route as you will not have any support.
Go for HUR like I advised in my first post.

Noob help on updating Android Firmware

Hey All, I have a
32GB A-Sure Android 9.0 VW Golf MK5 MK6 9" Car Head Unit Stereo Sat Nav GPS DAB+
Purchased a few years back, the interface is starting to become sluggish, so was looking to update the firmware.
Is it possible to update to Android 10 on all units. If so, could you point me in the right direction of a website to download the file please.
Thanks in advance!

Updating to yet another stock firmware will not do any improvements on your head unit. There might be custom firmware for your head unit but you need to post a screenshot of your System Info. It will contain your MCU.

You can but you don't need to. Malaysk can run on 9 as well.

Great, thanks for that. I assume an MCU update to the most recent would be best practice before installing?

Hi @ExtremeMOD I'll would like your help and knowledge, I bought a year ago a Chinese android head unit, specifically a yt9216b in Aliexpress
(https://aliexpress.ru/item/10000205...4W7zQi_w9naFPgRWKuFXS_Vu6YMEwP6xoCxIgQAvD_BwE)
months ago I changed the default launcher to Car Launcher Free by Apps Lab Studio
(https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.autolauncher.motorcar.free&hl=es)
and a month ago suddenly the touchscreen has no response and I cant do anything at all
I haven't upgraded or modified any of the firmware or anything like that cause I don´t know how to do it, as I wrote I only change launcher cause it was an easy thing to do and for esthetical reasons.
I´ve watched some of your videos and the only thing I can share to you about de head unit is the next image and the video of the failure or malfunction, cause the touchscreen isn´t working I can´t go to see the kernel version.
thanks for reading and hopefully you can advice of what and how to do it
happy holidays!!

Check the flat cable in the middle, inside the unit. Sounds like it's loose. Or insert it the other way.
