Where are CSC files kept? - Samsung Galaxy S10+ Questions & Answers

So ai bought an S10+ (lightly used) earlier his week and went hrough the grueling process of rooting itnand then installing tWRP and föashing a custom rom from TWRP.
The only firmware for my device and country (which was the recommended firmware to use to flash stock with Magisk patched onto it) on Sammobile was 3-branded. This included a 3-branded boot and shutdown animation tha tis ugly as sin.
No matter, I thought. The custom rom included a custom boot animation. However, once I'd flashed the custom romN the 3-branded boot and shutdown animations remained. I'd even had the custom rom set my CSC to NEE (generic Nordic countries), but it remained 3-branded.
I tried using a file explorer to replace the 3 relevamt qmg files on my phone with the custom animations. Nope, didn't work. I found out that my mistake was using the home_csc file to flash stock + magisk instead of the csc file.
So that got me wondering, where are CSC-specifoc files stored? And is there any quicker way to cjange CSC than having to reflash stock? Because even the HadesRom Aroma installer failed to switch my CSC for some reason.

trying to root Note 4 5.1.1 on 910W8

Hey guys i followed this youtube guide for rooting 5.1.1 using TWRP Method https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpsGX_Xoxcg
i downloaded all the files but the firmware (not listen i have n910W8 = telus)
I have odin, supersu, TWRP (which n910w8 is listed) and samsung drivers.
I moved superSU and the TWRP file to root directory of note 4 5.1.1. rebooted into download mode, saw the blue indicator on odin and loaded the file. Rebooted holding volume up this time and tried to load the kernal but it doesnt exist.
I think im confused the TWRP file is NOT the kernal? Where can I get a kernal for n910W8 (telus)
thanks in advance!!
So I found this
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/56498/N910W8VLU1COI4_N910W8OYA1COI4_TLS/
which is telus 5.1.1 Rom. ill move this to my root directory and load the 910W8 TWRP file in odin and flash? Ill give it a try now wish me luck lol
ok i followed a guide online and now my phone just keeps restarting. I think im in big trouble. Im able to load openrecovery-twrp-2.8.1.0-trltecan.img into odin and boot to TWRP but now i cant load kernels? looked so easy to do now im down a phone? any help is much appreciated thanks!!!
You need to odin (bell, rogers, telus) 5.1.1 then odin TWRP then twrp a custom kernel. Our 5.1.1 needs a custom kernel in order to work rooted. Or.....you can load a custom 5.1.1 rooted rom that is W8 compatible or any Tmobile rom such as Tekxodus which i am running.
ok so i loaded openrecovery-twrp-2.8.1.0-trltecan.img in AP (for my device) copied the custom rom
" cm-12.1-20150423-NIGHTLY-trltetmo" which was suppose to work with my 910w8 (910T) used recovery to flash it and also supersu it flashed OK... I restart and i see a little blue guy and its stuck optimizing apps. Suck in restart loop.
what did i do wrong? try a different kernel ?
thanks in advance
EDIT 1
im trying the " Tekxodus" rom. this file is way larger whats going on with that. Is it the same procedure to flash it?
EDIT 2
Flashed to tekxodus rom optimizing apps... now its stuck System UI has stopped. and I cant do nothing. Any suggestions? ?? ?
EDIT 3
Do I need to flash a certain BootLoader along with the recovery for my device (BL and AP) ? , reboot in recovery and flash the custom rom ie "Tekxodus" ?
found this guide for 910C
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/how-root-galaxy-note-4-n910c-android-5-1-1-lollipop-1518168 with these steps
"Step-1: Download the flashable root package and transfer it to the storage of the phone
Step-2: Download Android 5.0.1 bootloader package. Extract it using any extracting tool and you should find a folder containing Odin flashable tar package and Odin binaries"
so confused lol
All you have to do is Odin stock 5.1.1 rom (COI4 i believe) then Odin TWRP then flash Tekxodus V3.2. Let everything optimize and let it sit there for a good 10 mins after optimization. Ignore what its doing. It will just work. No need to flash anything else unless you want Xposed, then you flash that right after flashing Tek (do not boot in between)
any idea where to get a custom kernel for 910w8 5.1.1 to root stock rom?
Im running this rom (flashed using odin)
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/56498/N910W8VLU1COI4_N910W8OYA1COI4_TLS/
stock telus rom. I loaded this rom by clicking BL in odin and selecting it (along with my recovery for telus 910w8). This was the only was to get my phone back into working order.
______-
I loaded my recovery for telus into odin and went to download mode.
booted into TWRP
Flashed Tekxodus V3.2.
Optimized apps for about 10 minutes and it just restarted and optimized again and again.
One time it said System UI has stopped and I was hooped.
not sure where I went wrong?
thanks for the response btw I really want to get this going cheers

Question on Unrooting

Hi Folks
I am currently using the G935U phone in India. I need to enable VOLTE for JIO (telecom carrier in India) which is currently not support by the Snapdragon version. However there are ways to achieve this . One such way is to write using flashfire and customized CSC File. But this requires the phone to be rooted. (https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72532123&postcount=18)
Now my question is as follows:
Lets say i root the phone and follow the steps mentioned in the thread and flashfire the CSC file as required. Now if i unroot the phone by flashing the stock AP file back using ODIN, then technically i have unrooted the phone and since i did not flash the CSC file, the changes made should continue to be there.
Would the changes and files written to the system/csc areas continue to be there after i flash it with the stock AP file ?

I've unrooted via the bat file located in the root zip itself. Flashed back from eng boot to normal boot file. but i still feel the lag. May be it's a good idea to flash AP too but i have to setup my apps etc (technically, flashing AP should not wipe my phone but can't take chances) How did your flashnig go? CSC preserved?

Few Questions About Flashing Stock Samsung ROM - Galaxy J3 Emerge (J327P) Boost

1. I downloaded the stock firmware file from SAMMobile and it came as a ZIP file. I open it and in there is 5 files with the .tar.md5 extension. My question is, I assume I have to put each file in its corresponding slot in ODIN, right? Also there is a CSC and a HOME_CSC file, whats the difference and which should I use?
2. Is there a way to pre-remove any of the default apps or make them not system apps by default so they can be uninstalled? I prefer an older version of Facebook and Messenger for example and would like to remove the ones in there and install my own version.
3. Is there a way to pre-load SuperSU into the ROM so I dont have to do custom recovery and that whole routine?
Is this the latest OTA update for the J3 emerge?
Currently I'm on QF4 and that's the latest for Boost on SamMobile.

Is there any method to convert stock firmware to TWRP flashable zip?

Here is a long story. Please read carefully before reply.
I have SM-G955N which is for South Korea. Also I have latest stock firmware that can be flashed with Odin. It has AP, BL, CP, CSC. With this firmware, I can recover from almost every problems(including bootloop) because these files have everything that my S8+ should have, even PIT file.
As you know, modifying stock firmware is very dangerous and you don't know what would happen if you delete/modify certain file.
You might think 'Hmm... I think it is completely not related to system or samsung so maybe I can delete this' but you can get bootlooped. I even got bootlooped by only deleting DioDict which is just dictionary app!
I think It would be much easier to recover from bootloop when I have flashable ZIP file that is pure stock firmware.
Maybe you can say 'Just use TWRP backup feature!' but I can't trust TWRP backup feature now.
When I flashed stock firmware with Odin and right after(after solving KG State thing), flashed TWRP. Then I should have pure, clean stock firmware because I didn't touch anything about system except recovery(TWRP), right? I backupped whole system except Cache because It has 0 MB size.
After I got bootloop while modifying system, I restored that backup but still got bootlooped. That's why I can't use TWRP backup as fallback plan. I can't trust it 100%.
There are few 'Kitchen' scripts but I think they only handle AP files. When I tried to use SuperR's Kitchen Free, I used stock firmware file(tar.md5) and didn't do any modification. After I made flashable ZIP file with it and flashed it with TWRP, I've got bootlooped because It didn't have critical CSC files that system needed.
I think the Kitchen can't handle CSC well even though It is critical. 'Donate' would be last resort.
I've found batch script that convert S9 stock firmware to flashable ZIP (at GItHub, 'harise100/S9-Stock-ROM-TWRP') but I don't think It can cover S8+ files. In the scripts, it requires some files that S8+ firmware don't have. Maybe I should play with that script to fit with S8+ but It will take a lot of time which I don't have much.
Any good idea or information about converting stock firmware to flashable ZIP file?

Flashing the magisk modified AP file fails via ODIN

Hello,
im trying to flash an AP file, modified via magisk app, to my Galaxy S10+ (Exynos, SM-G975F/DS, FW: G975FXXSEFUL1) via ODIN. I´ve installed the magisk app on this clean Samsung device to modify the AP file.
The bootloader is unlocked. But when ODIN is flashing USERDATA, the Downloadmode says: "official signed binarys only" and stops the flashing. The phone can be restored by flashing the original fw.
I´ve also tried to copy the AP file from an to the phone via adb. Also I tried use another official Samsung firmware (Android 12, G975FXXUEGULB) with the same result.
Can somebody help?
Thanks
Mirko
