I am missing the classic OnePlus gestures. I feel not comfortable with the gestures the stock ROM is offering. The other workarounds some people suggested were not really this what I was looking for.
So my question I'd like to ask: Is it possible to make a Magisk Module which contains the classic OnePlus gestures? And is there a dev who is able and willing to create such a module? It would be really appreciated.
What do you mean by classic gestures? If you're looking for root app for swipe gesture then try this I had been using this since its initial release on my Moto X, but I recommend pro version for more customization.

When I am talking about classic gestures those gestures are meant which have also been on OnePlus 6 and 7.
Now I understood.
Try this Swipe Navigation.. It will get you what you are looking for on pro, but you need to customize as per your need. (ignore the reviews for now)

You can try this command through a terminal emulator:
Code:
su
cmd settings system put op_gesture_button_side_enabled 0

I tested this and it works pretty well on the Pixel XL.
Though I like this, prefer the LMT launcher's pie pointer to reach those extreme corners. Waiting for the root just for this.
Agreed, waiting to use LMT, would be pretty nice to be able to activate it with the squeeze gesture as well rather than the edge swipe.

How I wish there's something like chromepie without using Xposed.
"Simple Pie(Navigation Bar)" in play store.
Someone now how to use thé new feature of oneplus 5t, the iPhone x gesture because in the Official ota some forum say it's bring to oneplus 5 but nothing now.
There is no need of that kind of gesture system in OnePlus 5. Because OnePlus 5 has physical buttons. And OnePlus 5t doesn't. Gesture system introduce because of that.

There is no iPhone X gestures in OnePlus 5. Not in OxygenOS 5.0.2 or OB5. Only on OnePlus 5T runing the last OxygenOS Open Beta.

Only faceunlock is ported to 5 not the gestures, you no need of that and if you've seen some video they're really ugly (i mean the 5t ones), if you don't use navbar use the hardware buttons
Got excited when I heard about the nav bar gestures. Hope they will still enable it for the 5 in some way...
I don't hate capacitive buttons, but a) they feel a little outdated and b) whenever I hand my phone to somebody else (especially older people and/or iPhone users) they would naturally hold the phone on the bezel area and press the capacitive buttons EVERY TIME - so I deactivated them.
But having those big bezels + nav bar is a poor use of space in my opinion... So yes, I would love to see the gestures on the 5.
In settings search you can even see "Hide the navigation bar", but it's invisible in the buttons submenu.

What gestures do you need? There are a tonne of ROMs and mods that have enabled iOS type gestures for years and many more than is available for iOS .
Look them up.
I have the android version and when I switch to an alternate launcher like Pixel Launcher or Nova the keyboard shortcuts for things like the app drawer always take me back to Lenovo Launcher.
Can these be modified at all? Thanks.

I don't think so. It's a very specific device, and the keyboard relation with the launcher is very close. Don't believe it's a device proper to be very personalized. It gives you a very unique experience, but it has it reverse side. You love it or hate it. But you can't change many things.
It's my first Android device that I've not deeply modified and not even rooted! And that's a lot to say.
I personally love it (not in everything, but mostly). It results to fit my necessities very accurately. But I had to accept that it is what it is and how it is.

Hey y'all
I just got the Google Q beta 3 on my pixel and with the full navigation mode you get the IOS like animations. I say IOS like for lack of a better term as they were the first to offer a polished version of gesture animations (to my knowledge, don't want to debate that).
I know that my oneplus 6t and Huawei Mate 20 pro also had that same animation style.
What I mean is that when you swipe up to go home the app animation goes back into the app icon itself, funny enough one ui has a similar animation for when you close a folder.
I'm surprised that our phones don't have it. It makes the whole gesture thing seem like an after thought. I asked Samsung and they told me to download a different theme...
So here are my questions
1- Is there a name for that animation style?
2-Is there an actual theme that would enable it or maybe a launcher?
I'm just a bit surprised that my $1700 phone would have such an unfinished gesture navigation implementation.
Not debating but informing you that WebOS was gesture navigation based before everyone else.

I'm fine with Samsung navigation, I actually like it very much. It's really the navigation transition animations and more specifically the apps. The way that they kind of pop back into the actual app icon. As opposed to the just fading out.

I'm currently using Pixen which is nice, and o also enjoyed Evolution. I really much prefer the Pixel UX over Oxygen. It feels way more polished.
However, Google's gesture navigation sucks. The back gesture often triggers whatever is on screen rather than actually going back. It's super annoying.
So do any Pixel style ROMs exist that print the OnePlus gestures/launcher?

Thanks, but I tried that but despite the name, they aren't very... fluid. You lose all the animations of multi-tasking and closing apps which is what makes the Pixel / OnePlus solution feel so good.
I've been wondering this same thing. Maybe someone using a custom ROM can try to install the OnePlus launcher APK from apkmirror and test it.
