Forgive me if there's a post on this already but I could not find it any thread on this. If anyone can please help me find settings on my Nexus One getting Wataniya 3G network on my phone? I also can't connect to WiFi for some reason. The phone is unlocked and it was working great when I was back in the US. This is my first time out of USA and now i'm in Kuwait using Watiniya. PLEASE HELP ME GET 3G! Thanks.

you have to check what 3G standard Watiniya provides over its Cell Towers.. for instance, I am in China and China Mobile only provides TD-SCDMA... it is not supported by Nexus One (because quite honestly, it is a "China-specific" standard)... for China Apple with China Unicom brought out a iPhone 3G that supports TD-SCDMA - a special build only for China...
maybe you have the same sitution in Kuwait
Ok I finally got the 3G on. Nobody knows how to get it and I have to figure this **** out on my own. One thing that sucks is android market is limited. I cant get pandora app or syncmypix etc.... I wonder if I can do this through apk file? Anyways if anyone wants to know how to get 3G set up on WATANIYA NETWORK...I'm you're man. Hit me up. Peace.
You CAN get the apps as apk files, and that should work. You're probably not seeing them in Market because you're in Kuwait. As for the 3G problem you had...it was probably because the APN wasn't set.

I figured that was the problem. I did get the pandora apk file amongst other apps for my fiance. Things are ok. One thing though, I just refilled my Wataniya sim and I hardly used it but my credits are gone! I think they charge u using 3G network! Where is Tmobile when u need them?
Hey well im using latest Aurora ICS and I guess as everybody else with an virtual operator my phone thinks im roaming. So i've been googling this for ages and i found this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1211850 . It is for the Galaxy S but any chance that it would work to remove my roaming. Or anybody know of an other way to stop phone thinking it is roaming. Quite annoying with apps that doesnt work when roaming like camera upload with Dropbox.
Hello. I recently purchased a S4 I9505. After installing my sim card i noticed periods of no signall and "emergency calls only" phases. I had to restart phone to get it to work, but only for a short while before i got the no signal issues again.
I had my micro-sim cut from my previous one so thinking a bad cut could be the problem i got a new out of the packet micro-sim from my service provider. Which didn't really solve anything.
The S4 version officially selling in my country is the I9500 one, but i know a number of people using the I9505 version here with no issues.
After messing around with the settings i found i get perfect network on GSM only mode. I can use data by means of GPRS and EDGE but its just really slow. As soon as i turn the network mode to GSM/WCDMA or WCDMA mode only i get the no signal problem.
I factory reset-ted from the phone menu as well as the boot menu and that too didn't solve anything
Has anyone encountered the same problem?, Anyone know how to fix it?.
Really bummed out considering how much i had to go through to buy the phone.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Maybe the i9505 doesn't support the right bands for your area??

Nah, like i said i've tried using other S4 I9505 in the same area and other phones that support 3G. They work perfectly . Im beginning to think its a hardware fault rather than a software one

rooting will not kill your network connection. that's something that you did. you need to provide a LOT more information in order to have people help you out,
what ROM are you on, what settings did you change, what mobile carrier are you on, etc. etc. this is a simple fix, but we need to know what caused it first. :good:

I also tryed that several times but nothing...
The SIM card can not register to my network has it something to do with the imei??
IMEISV: 01
Kernel version: 3.4.0-1715731
[email protected] #1
Buildnumber:
JSS15J.I9505XXUEMI8
Baseband Version:
I9505XXUEMI8
Never give out your imei number
Well the person above me said it. You just made a mountain out of a mole hill by giving out your imei to everyone on xda. Anyway, have you tried a factory reset? If that doesn't work take it to Best Buy and tell them Kies wrecked havoc on your device and they can re-flash your phone for free. Don't tell them it was your fault.

I don't know what the problem is but you should be able to flash the stock firmware in Odin and get your phone working again. Double check this in the i9500, i9505, i9505G S4 forum. You can get the stock firmware from sammobile.com

He should be able to flash it himself. The i9505 is not locked down like the i337. It's an international version so he probably can't take it to best buy, which is what I was responding to.

Data enabled, but no internet connection
Hello,
I have the stock rooted i337 (AT&T), running on another provider network. I am aware that i337 is very difficult to do modifications due to the built-in by AT&T vicious locks to prevent using it with other network providers. This is the reason I did not flash ROM, because I am afraid to get my phone bricked and lose it entirely. Recently I subscribed to a data plan from a third party provider and I have 4G in the status line and HSPA in the data type, but I still did not have internet connection when WiFi was disabled, except that my Hotmail somehow worked. No other apps requiring internet worked. I spent a week researching the issue myself as well as working with the provider's tech support, but nothing worked. Two days ago, almost out of despair, I installed a new app called Opera Max, which is developed to route the unencrypted data to their Virtual Private Network in order to compress it and save the data use. As soon as I connected to VPN, all applications started working. I still have to turn Opera Max off when I use WiFi, because it disconnects my WiFi every few minutes, claiming that WiFi signal is too low. (My signal is very strong and no other devices have any issues with WiFi). However, this is a minor problem, considering that Opera Max saved my data plan.
It is still a mystery to me why Hotmail worked, but no other apps and why using Opera Max VPN solved the problem. If anybody has ideas, I will be happy to hear.
I must say that all data settings, including APN are checked, rechecked and correct, so this was not the issue.
Thanks,
Dan
I am also having connection issues after rooting my S4 i9505:
I am on a Telcel (Mexico) which is supposed to support 4G connections... However, ever since I rooted I can only access 2G/GSM networks. I have the official APN network configuration and I have tried two roms but still no luck...
Any advice would be most welcome.
Hello everyone,
My T-Mobile Note 4 is not recognizing my sim at all. Hell it isn't even listing any mobile networks when I try to scan for them.
Okay so it is now recognizing the SIM however the 3G/4G are not working. Only edge is working. Any ideas on how to fix that?
I did install a few custom roms in between to test them (MaximumOverDrive, NOBLE ROM) as well as kernals (freeza, Xceed) however I have reinstalled EPE3 stock via Odin now but still mobile data is not working.
Can anyone please tell me what to try/do to fix it?
If you need any more info feel free to ask.
Love,
Becky
Sounds like the SIM reader on your device may have stopped working. I'd take it to a official Samsung Service Center and let them take a look at it.

Just take it into your cell providers local high street store. They should be able to restore the APN settings back onto your device, so that you will be able to get 3G and 4G/LTE connectivity.
