Bootloop to TWRP after installing LineageOS - Redmi K20 / Xiaomi Mi 9T Questions & Answers

Hello,
iam stuck in a Bootloop that goes straight back to twrp.
I got a refubirshed Mi 9 T with MIUI 11 and wanted to install LineageOS.
I unlocked my bootloader with the miflash_unlock tool (didnt had to wait).
Installed latest twrp (twrp-3.3.1-0-davinci.img)
Flashed twrp (fastboot.exe flash recovery twrp.img)
Wiped Dalvik, Cache, System, Vendor, Data
Installed LineageOS 17.1 and gapps nano
After that my Phone reboots straight into twrp and i dont know what to do or what i missed.
I set up a pattern so i guess my filesystem is encrypted but i dont know if it matters.
Does somebody know a solution?
Kind Regards

Solved it.
I had to wipe the /data/ Partition

please push format data (button), reboot in twrp and install lineage too
If that doesn't work, you can install vbmeta

Xiaomi Redmi 3S Lineage 28May Issue

Hello.
So i've flashed Lineage 28May Build and this automaticly encrypt my device ...
I've read on the internet that if the device is encrypted the flash process is a bit diferent.
I've read about wipe data cache dalvik and system
wipe data cache dalvik system and internal storage
And flash adb ...
So, now i tried to go to TWRP and it just apears Mi Logo!
Not booting into any recovery (Stock or TWRP)
I've installed Miui.eu and the recovery is ok
I flash Lineage and i can't boot into recovery anymore ...
What to do?
Issues :
1 - Can't boot into TWRP
2 - What process is to flash a new Lineage Rom? ( I want to decrypt my device to flash more easily)
I really need help ...
I don't know if my bootloader is unlocked or locked right now, because i flashed too many roms ...
Need help !

1)Try to reflash twrp from fastboot mode.(if you can't do this, then your bootloader is locked. And no matter how many roms you install, bootloader, once unlocked remains unlocked, untill you lock purposefully).
2)In twrp wipe cache, dalvik, and if necessary data for clean installation.
3) Once any custom ROM is installed, while in mi logo , you cannot directly boot to twrp. You have to go to fastboot and from there boot to twrp.
4) First install only ROM. Once it gets installed turn it on. Once it successfully turns on, then you can install gapps ( this is not always necessary to be followed)
5) formatting data completely will decrypt your device. Just goto format data and type "yes". You need not goto advanced wipe.

ONEPLUS 5 Bootloop after flashing Lineage OS 14.1

Hello Guys,
I have been using xXx NoLimits 4.8 rom that is based on Oxygyn 4.5.15 ( android version 7.1.1) and now I would like to try Lineage 14.1.
I have TWRP 3.2.1 Blue Spark V8.61.
I wiped Data, Cache, System and Dalvik and flashed Lineage 14.1 and then flashed the addon supersu 64bit and then wipe dalvik and cache again and rebooted but the phone never booted into system. It kept on rebooting to the recovery or stuck in a bootloop.
I removed the PIN before I flashed Lineage 14.1 and my data partition is NOT encrypted
Any idea on what I am missing here?
Thanks
I had the same problem and I can't remember where I got the file from. But u flash it and the bootloop is gone this is what worked for me.

NOT encrypted mean you're decrypted? So with supersu you don't need to flash no verity, but instead of supersu try magisk and the no verity
Thanks

Thanks. This worked!
I have been researching the issue and I found out that since my DATA partition is decrypted and Lineage OS is an encrypted rom then bootloop occurs.
Thanks

Correct. I meant to say that my data partition is decrypted.
What I ended up doing is flashing supersu addon from Lineage website followed by Magisk and then flashed no verity and everything works well so far
I also tried flashing supersu addon followed by no verity and it works too ( I wanted to give it a shot in case I decided I did not want to use magisk)
Thanks again for the tip!

Problem installing omnirom android 9 on oneplus 5

i follow the instructions as per omnirom thread... flash the vendor/firmware, wipe data , reboot recovery, and flash the rom, but the omni rom does not boot at all and just shows the OMNI sign on/off. How should i proceed?
Which ROM were you on? What Firmware were you on? Were you Encrypted? Did you only Wipe /Data or did you wipe everything?

Lineageos 15.1 (android 8.1)
I first flashed OOS stock firmware, then OOS, then LOS.
I format data and then wipe dalvik cache, cache, data, system.

Is your Recovery up to date? I'd recommend the latest Codeworkx TWRP. Did you already have the Vendor partition on your device before attempting to flash Omnirom?
If in doubt flash full OOS 5.1.3 and OTA all the way up to and including 9.0.1. Then reinstall TWRP by fastboot, wipe and format everything and then flash Omni.

I still tried, it does not work. My phone got bricked, so I used MSM tool to unbrick and after that I got Nougat 7.1.1. I upgrade my Android to 8.0 (OOS 5.1.3) from system update, and after that update another one came, Android 8.1.1 ( OOS 5.1.7). I then unlock bootloader, flash twrp, flash vendor/firmware, wipe data, flash Omnirom but I get stuck into the omni loading screen. The phone does not load.

Okay, i'm not seeing anything about a Format operation there. Wipe does not equal Format. I've just finished setting up Omnirom 9 on my own OP5, so it does work. (Great ROM btw)
Backup everything from Internal Storage to your PC, including all the installation files. The following will wipe your storage!
1) Boot into TWRP
2) Wipe Menu, Advanced, Select all Partitions manually and Wipe
3) Wipe Menu, Format. (Type Yes when prompted)
4) Reboot Menu, Reboot Recovery
5) Copy Installation files from PC to Internal Storage
6) Install Menu, Queue up and install zips in the following order:
i) Vendor/Firmware
ii) ROM
iii) Gapps
7) Wipe Dalvik/Cache when prompted
8) Reboot
9) Set up and done.

I did it, but I get a bootloop. Omnirom does not boot, it just shows the OMNI logo lights.

The only difference between the two of us that i can see is that i flashed OOS 9.0.1 and booted into it once before doing the steps above.
Don't know if it's relevant but the Vendor/Firmware that i used was 9.0.1 also:
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/11o0FxZ_rw5lhthGz8_iyYEXBt0dwiv3x
Make sure you nuke everything before starting. Wipe and Format everything. Move installation files across and follow steps.

I flashed OOS first and booted everything and I followed the steps and got everything right, but still I get stuck with a bootloop that does not load OmniROM.
Works fine for me;
Flashed the latest OxygenOS. Now you dont need to worry about flashing firmware later in the process.
Enabled unlocking the bootloader in developer menu.
Rebooted into bootloader and flashed the recovery image from clockworkx and booted into twrp recovery.
Wiped everything and formatted data as well.
Reboot recovery.
Flashed rom. I always use sideload but that should not matter. Dont flash anything else; first reboot into your working system.

After installing Stock ROM, Phone remains encrypted!TWRP is not asking for password.

Hi Guys! Please point me in the right direction!
I am having oneplus 5 and I didn't create any backup (I know.. so stupid), so unfortunately I can't afford to wipe internal storage.
Long story short: I installed Stock ROM and stuck in a boot loop. Reinstalled TWRP but now it is not asking for password to decrypt.
Long story Long:
1. I Tried to install the latest custom ROM (Android 9) from Android 7 but because of having old OS/firmware, vendor partition was not created, and the new OS didn't get installed.
2. So I Wiped and installed 3.2.3 TWRP codeworkx (anything later twrp didn't work). (This version of TWRP asked my password at the beginning).
3. Tried to install OOS 5.1.4 (since it was the one that first enabled treble and the update created vendor partition). This official stock ROM wiped my twrp.
4. I guess TWRP didn't decrypt before getting erased and I got stuck in a boot loop.
5. Now I removed the OOS and installed TWRP, but the TWRP is no longer asking for a password and the system is encrypted.
6. Now any OS I install is just getting stuck in logo loop.
How can I make TWRP to ask for the password again? I know the password. Please help.

TWRP and Decrypt?

Hi.
I am new to the Nexus 6p.
I want to install Magisk and backup my ROM via TWRP.
I am running stock Oreo 8.1.0 with a password and fingerprint.
I have just unlocked and installed TWRP 3.3.3-1. When I first loaded TWRP it asked me to decrypt data, but I just cancelled it as I thought it wasn't needed. I take it this is wrong?
I have now tried to go back into twrp but I get the Android on its back saying 'no data'. So the twrp flash never stuck.
I am under some confusion whether I need to format userdata or not. The guides I am following are old and don't mention Oreo only Developer preview N. I would prefer not to but if it needs doing it needs doing.
Would removing my fingerprint before flashing twrp help?
Thanks.

You need to boot back into twrp and format data the reboot back to recovery again and advanced wipe system data cache dalvik/art and internal storage if necessary, then flash a custom ROM .
