I ran over my phone and broke the screen on my s5. It will boot up and everything works accept my screen is black, digitizer is not responding to finger touch. My phone didn't have a passcode only swipe to unlock. Its running Marshmellow OS. When I connect to kies it reports the phone is locked and I need to enter the passcode on the device. I used "findmymobile" to unlock the phone and I can hear it unlock but Kies still says its locked. Can someone please help?

unfortunately I do not have USB bugging on. This is going to be challenging but I'll give it a try
If you put a new screen on the phone you won't loose your data, just get a new digitizer.
Sent from my SM-N910V using Tapatalk
yeah but the digitizer is like $150 CAN, Are there cheaper ones available?
Read a post on another forum saying someone with the same problem, USB Debugging disabled and broken screen, managed to backup by booting the phone in recovery mode / safe mode, and using KIES to create a backup
Recovery mode
http://wccftech.com/galaxy-s5-recovery-mode-how-to/
I am in quite the pickle. I rooted and flashed twrp to my galaxy grand prime value edition on straighttalk (sm-s920l) just fine and everything was working. However, after attempting to flash RR, I am unable to boot to recovery or normal mode. I can boot into download mode, but reactivation lock is on (reactivation lock was not on before and usb debugging was enabled before flashing). When connected to my computer, odin says that it is added to com5 and ID:com turns yellow, but when I try to flash anything it says (succeed 0 / fail 1). I have used multiple versions of odin, multiple cables and multiple usb ports (never using usb hub) and 2 computers. I have tried flashing multiple different files to no avail and I am positive drivers are installed and kies is not running. Is my phone hard bricked??? :crying::crying::crying:
I had a reactivation lock problem. I'm not new to android and especially not Samsung but I read one comment while trying to find a way out of the soft brick I was in. It was stuck on a ugly yellow reactivation splash screen I could only go to Odin mode or the splash screen. Someone said to enable another mode I never heard of by pushing all the buttons at once. This takes u to a black screen w tiny letters in the top left corner something about boot and to wait then my phone rebooted into exactly where I had left off. Try it I've had to do it twice now and it worked both times
Im having unique issue with my s 7edge.
I cant boot the phone it says Custom binary blocked by frp lock.
I cant access recovery mode it says Recovery is not seandroid enforcing.
I can access download mode but its not connecting to any pc, kies, odin. The download screen says FRP lock: ON, Secure Download: Enabled.
So there is no way to flash the phone or access recovery or boot the phone.
What is the solution, im stuck.?
FYI: I have searched all over the internet for hours but I couldn't found same issue.

Hi sir,
Thank you for the swift replay. However I went through the guide and tried so much thinks to connect my phone to the smart switch but with no luck.
When I connect the cable the PC is not detecting and and no windows sounds for cable connecting. Tried other phone with same cable and the windows could detect it. Tried on other PC and s7edge is not detected by window also. I tried reinstall the drivers by smart switch and not detecting. I have rebooted my PC without luck also. I have tried all the combinations you can imagine but nothing makes the phone detected by PC.
In my download mode screen in my phone shows the following
ODIN MODE
DOWNLOAD SPEED: FAST
PRODUCT NAME: SM-G935F
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Custom
FRP LOCK: ON
Secured Download: Enabled
WARRANTY VOID: 1 (0x020c)
RP SWREV: B:1 K:0 S:0
There is something in the phone is locked and not allowing to connect to any USB PC.

i see the real problem is not connecting to pc then...
try:
updating drivers with this : http://developer.samsung.com/technical-doc/view.do?v=T000000117
Try:
manually deleting the drivers all together in windows and then plugging in your S7 while it is in Download Mode
Try:
unplugging all your USB in devices connectd to your pc (apart from keyboard/mouse) and then trying again
Try:
Using a different Cable (preferably the original one that came with the phone, this is the most common cause)

I tried with all cables including the original not detecting s7.
Generally there is no issue with PC to connect to mobile phones it connect perfectly with my other phones. Even the yesterday s7 was connected to my PC until I triggered the security and the phone stuck in the boot screen. The issue is in the s7 when its locked by (FRP Lock because of custom binary) its not allowing to connect to any PC. Something related to the phone security here.

When you are trying to use samsung switch emergency recovery feature, it is a stand alone part of the program which does not require you to connect to smart switch.
It should see the phone and fix the problem. FRP happened to me and smart switch emergency recovery was able to fix it. As long as the phone can be accessed it can be fixed.
All you need is the model name and your serial number which should be posted on the back of your phone or maybe the box you have still have it.

I have gone through that path, the phone cable unplugged initially. Then I selected more>emergency software recovery and initialization>
two tabs are there, 1- Emergency software recovery, 2- Device initialization.
1- Emergency software recovery: there is no update failed in the list, also I dont have recovery code for the same. no use of this option
2- Device initialization: I have entered the model and SN correctly and it found the stock software, I selected OK for the warning dialog until it reached the stage asking to put the s7 in the download mode, I did that with phone plugged in by USB. I waited forever for the "OK" button to be active, its grayed out because the s7 is not detected at all. So I am in the same loop again, the phone locking all the USB connections.

leave the phone with the screen showing the FRP lock, plug the cable in and use smart switch device initialization.
It should start without asking you to put it in without going to download mode. If it asks that, just unplug and replug the usb to the phone, that usually lets smart switch to bypass that request.

here is something odd and not as all people see it, when I turn the phone power on it start with samsung welcome screen with red sentence in top "Custom binary blocked by FRP Lock" the screen stays on for 5 seconds then the phone goes off.
If I do the same thing with USB cable plugged in with phone off, its automatically power on with charging screen with red sentence on top "Custom binary blocked by FRP Lock" and then the phone goes off and restart the same thing in infinity loop. So when I tried what you said in smart switch to install the firmware it didnt do anything, no installation started, no bypass FRP, the phone still looping on off, OK button grey.
I am reaching to no clue after all your guidance and help. I think the USB port is damaged and not reading data, only charging.

Can you tell me the resolution of this problem in your case? I have the same problem, although I haven't gotten word back from the seller who may or may not have the serial number, so I haven't been able to even try Smart Switch at all.

I was able to use Odin to reset my phone, after downloading the correct firmware from SamMobile. It took me a very long time to download, as my wireless connection is through my phone, and my household was over 60GB this month.
But I got it done, and have a working S7 Edge again. Sorry that you apparently had a hardware issue, but at least you got it working again.

Hello all,
I have been a long-time peruser of this site, but this is the first time I couldn't find a good answer to my issue.
My phone (SM-G950F) ran out of power, I didn't notice till after it died completely. When I tried to turn it on while charging it displays the message "Custom binary blocked by FRP lock" on the logo screen, then turns off. If plugged in to a charger, it'll just keep booting like that in a loop. I'm not even able to access recovery, only the download mode. I'm not against factory resetting my phone, however I have important data that in the phone storage I need to keep. I have searched online and youtube with no success.
Any ideas or suggestions will be much appreciated.
NOTE: Before the phone battery died, i wasn't tinkering with any setting that may lead to this; just regular use
flash it with odin
Flash official firmware..but make sure to use HOME_CSC not CSC...to keep your data...then boot direct to download mode after flashing ia done and flash twrp recovery
I have same issue bot Windows dosn't see my phone (drivers installed) so I'm unable to flash it. I can see only unrecognizable device in windows device manager. Is there any hope to fix it. Please help

How to rid rmm and kg without 7 days?
Hello everyone,
This is a SM G975F exynos model
Please note that the bootloader is locked!
I tried to root the phone and it sort of succeeded but now its stuck on bootloop
And moreover Knox is tripped ... if that even matters at all?
I can access download mode, recovery and charges normally with no issues at all.
Problem is i cannot get into the home screen or the setup screen
I have used odin to flash 2 versions of android 10
Since i cannot downgrade because of bootloader being locked....
The odin flashes two versions of 8 bit roms one is G975FXXU8DTH7 and other is G975FXXU8CTG4
Both are android 10
If i do try to downgrade odin gets stuck at boot image flash stage and doesnt work again due to bootloader being locked
can any one help me on what the issue might be?
i can get into download mode , recovery mode, the flash results in a success and i get a pass on odin as well
all it does is get stuck on samsung (non animating) stock splash screen and it restarts again and again
Some relevant information i fetched from download mode screen
KG State : Prenormal
FRP Lock : Off
OEM Lock : On (U1)
please assist me on further on this issue if you can
I can even share the video of the phone behaviour if needed via discord
Thank you
Hi,
Did you fix this problem, I'm in the same situation. Trying to flash all versions of ANdroid 10 and 11 now with Odin, as I don't know which stock formware it was on when it went into bootloop.
Update: When in Recovery Mode, go to the Recovery Logs, then one off those log histories shows all the System build numbers and their installation dates. FRom there you can work out which system was installed when it went into boot loop.
I installed the last system it was working on, then left it in boot loop for 2 hours and it suddenly started to initiate. Leaving it overnight didn't work as I think it turns itself off when the prompts aren't responded to.
Can you please post a photo as I am wondering if we have the same problem as described in this link:
Samsung S10 + bootloop ERASE FAIL: READ ONLY
Samsung S10 + SM-F975F/DS IMEI stating Taiwan (Update: Very contradicting information if the phone is Snapdragon OR Exynos) if it even matters to solve the issue I dont know Owner of the above since 2019 without issues; USB debugging mode...
