[QUESTION] LineageOS Install - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

I'm currently installing lineageos in my phone, it is booting for the first time and it looks fine, I've heard that the first time booting up the phone with a custom rom can take a while, 1-10 minutes. My phone has been in the lineageos booting screen for quite a while now and im getting worried. Do i need to wipe my phone and reinstall lineageos? EDIT: It is now in the same boot screen for around 40 minutes now. Edit 2:It got stuck on one part of the animation and the only thing in he screen is the curved blue line without any animations EDIT 3: Problem is solved, i reinstalled lineageos and it is working well

[Q] Problem: Phone stuck at ROM Booting animation.

Hello everybody.
I am a Defy Red Lense user with a recently flashed PA 2.14 build (coming from 2.00 version of same ROM). At first 3-4 boots everything was ok, till I made some changes on phone config (namely enabling 16 bit transparency as recommended by it's maker, and then some small changes in Paranoid Android Settings) and asked me to reboot. Ok so I went to reboot and as usual, it booted me into bootmenu, and I chose "boot" and "2ndinit" as usual. After a odd bootloop (where the phone wouldn't go through the blue, then green LED sequence and would then reboot, show Moto logo boot animation, rinse and repeat, etc) that I ended by pressing vol - and entering, again, into bootmenu, I chose again boot and 2ndinit and then something really weird happened:
After almost half an hour i'm still stuck at the very ROM booting animation (the Paranoid Android one, no the Moto logo), just like the guys that tried that new kernel that were reporting 15+ min first boot times. As a clarification, my first boot with just flashed 2.14 took, at most, 5 minutes. And there is another odd vehaviour, concerning the PA boot animation: it gets randomly stuck for a few secs and continues as usual, with no looping from 0 just like the normal loopboot.
So here comes the questions:
- What is really happening? is it really booting or the phone is just stuck in ROM bootanimation? How long should I wait to consider shutting it down?
- Is there some way to get out of it/shutting it down without damaging the device? Can I just pull the battery off without bricking the device?
Looking fowardd for some theories behind this issue :good:
Well, seems like it was OK to unmount the battery while on ROM booting animation, since I haven't had mayor problems after doing so and rebooting. Now the phone works just fine.
Tho im still curious the reason behind this pseudo-bootloop. Thanks for reading anyways :good:

How to boot yotaphone 2 without EDP screen, lineageos does that fine?

So i have flashed everything from android 4.3 to 6 and the same thing happens, powered by android and then boot loop at the blue screen (boot animation). Lineageos boots just fine, but the two roms i have found don't charge at all unless i put it in downloading mode and still just 65%, also camera did not work, and a lot of other stuff. Currently struggling to edit that boot.img thing but, it's just too much, i don't know this stuff. Worst case i'll wait for the official lineageos.
Bump !
Or to say it in other words, any solution for this ?
I am on the latest 6.01 b147 version and would love to boot w/o EDP attached.

Why my Samsung S7 edge keep freezing?

I recently installed LineageOS on my S7 Edge because it has a problem with a recent samsung update (the device wasn't able to read the sim card, problem solved by installing Lineage).
It was fine for a couple hours of intensive use, then it freezed. When I rebooted the device it started and was fine but only for a couple of minutes.
After various attemping of simply rebooting the problem persisted, so i decided to reinstall LineageOS, but the device also freezes after 2 minutes of use in Recovery (TWRP).
I then tried to reinstall stock rom in Download mode and the process via Odin was fine (so the smartphone is able to stay on for more than 5 minutes) but when it reboot and start the blue screen with the android robot saying installing system/wiping ecc.. it last two minutes and then freeze.
In TWRP I'm also able to Advanced Wipe and repair System/Data/Cache partitions, and they are correctly mounted.
But every time the device boot (by now only in recovery mode because it doesn't have any rom installed on) it lasts only 2 minutes so I don't have enough time to install any ROM. What can I do?
- Temperature is between 24° C and 33° C
- TWRP 3.2.3-0
- First time installed LineageOS 15.1
- Installed MindTheGapps instead of OpenGapps because during the installation of OpenGapps the device freezed
This looks like a hardware issue to me. My S7 edge recently died just like that.

LG G2 D801 Bootloop after flash/reboot

Hello,
I'm currently experiencing a bootloop on my phone, it gets to the resurrection remix logo screen during boot then restarts. I've tried booting into recovery and download mode. When I try to boot into recovery it loads the factory reset screen as usual but when I say yes to the reset in order to launch TWRP it just goes to the LG logo, then remix and restarts all over. I got into download mode one time since this started but since then I've made countless attempts to boot into it again and can't.
What I was doing right before this happened is, I recently completely wiped my phone, flashed stock firmware, wiped, then installed resurrection remix. Everything was going perfect, it started no problem, I went through and cleaned up some apps I didn't want etc normal setup steps then I used the power menu to boot into recovery instead of just using the hardware keys and the bootloop started.
Besides the not booting, the other major issue here is that it never stays connected to the pc via adb long enough to do any actions or flash a single file. By the time the pc sees it and adb sees it, I have roughly 2 seconds before it restarts again.
I really really really need any help I can get please ASAP as this is my mom's phone and she needs it for work in 4 hours. This issue started about four hours ago and I've been trying to fix it ever since. I feel like I have looked everywhere on here and through google but probably missed the solution. Before you ask, I'm 28 not a teenager and work in IT as a career for the last 12 years so don't get the wrong impression. She asked me to work on it because I had set it up a few months back with a lollipop version of resurrection remix and magisk, but in the last month or so she was having really poor performance and issues with settings crashing and a few other apps.
I hope you don't need any more info from me, if you do however I'll be here trying to fix it until she goes to work at least. I really could use the help and would greatly appreciate it.
Thank You

S5 SM-901F Bootloop on device with Custom ROM

I flashed the ROM Ressurection Remix onto my phone to get a newer Android version since the model is quite old. Everything worked perfectly for over two years. Then while browsing, my phone crashed and got into a bootloop and restarts after showing the Samsung Logo. After manually removing the battery and putting it back repeatedly it boots up somehow. I couldn't reproduce what was happening back then.
After that it crashes in irregular intervals for no apparent reason and every time I could get it to boot properly by turning off and on for a long period of time.
Now I got the same problem and I wanted to get rid of the bootloop, so I decided to flash it with a new version of Ressurection Remix. I updated TWRP via Odin and had much trouble to get into recovery mode since my phone was crashing at the Samsung logo. As I got into recovery I made a factory reset and flashed the new rom. But as soon as my phone started to reboot after the flashing, it crashes again and the loop starts once again. Again, I searched for another Rom and used LineageOS but the problem persists.
Now I'm out of options, I can't even get into recovery mode by now.
Could anybody help me out?
