So, my wife has been having issue with her edge. It just simply can't use a controller. It's bizarre. She's on the nougat update, which I read broke Bluetooth, but we've tried the same controller with the Samsung otg adapter, and a standard OTG adapter. Neither works. And the Bluetooth disconnects every few minutes. The controllers used were both the steelseries stratus duo, and the Sony ds4. The dualshock doesn't connect well, clearly. And even when using a cord, the controller itself doesn't input properly, completely unusable. We have been trying every non root option first, before going the root route. Does anyone have any help? Any advice or tests or anything at all?
I think it's important to mention that this is the Verizon version of the s7 edge. It doesn't have an official update beyond nougat, I don't think. At least none OTA

Hi, I've got an LG G2 (AT&T D800, unlocked), and I'm trying to use a standard, Microsoft wireless Xbox 360 controller with it for a few games. (Minecraft, Dead Trigger, and some emulators)
I'm running stock 4.4.2, software version D80020y, rooted.
Now, at first it simply wouldn't do anything at all (like it wasn't recognized), but then I followed this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792531
Now it somewhat works, however, all of the buttons "stick" at random times, and the bumpers rarely work.
I've tried all 4 of my controllers, they all did the same thing.
The OTG cable is confirmed working with a keyboard/mouse, and USB drives, and the wireless reciever (while it is aftermarket and not the official MS version) is confirmed working with my PC.
I've re-done what was written in that thread twice now, making sure everything was done correctly, and I'm still having this issue.
I've googled around, but I must be missing something.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks!
Is it possible to connect my PH-1 to a usb-c monitor ?
my macbook pro does just this. Or does the usb-c of the PH-1 have other requirements?
It's supposed to work and supports USB-C Display Port video out. I can't get it to work, but Essential Support claims it does work, took a picture as proof using the same adapter I tried with. Yet, for some reason, I can't get it to work... Even after a factory reset, no root, full stock.
If you're having issues, please let support know also. They may have some issues going on they're not aware of.

It works for me.
I'm using this adapter -> https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MYUCWOK/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It works with my Lenovo ThinkVision LT1423p. But only with the latest DisplayLink drivers and not those from Lenovo.
However the touch screen is severely miscalibrated...

Am I just doing it wrong? Is this supposed to work with any HDMI-capable TV or does it need to support Displayport or have something special? I've tried connecting my adapter to 4 TVs, each with different HDMI cables, and even tried a couple of other HDMI cables on top of that. The TV detects no signal. I also tried 2 desktop monitors via HDMI -- nothing.
The kicker -- Essential support shared a photo proving it works with the adapter I own. I just don't get it... Only thought is perhaps an unlocked bootloader breaks this for some reason since I tried everything else (factory reset, no root, full stock, reflash system images, etc.)
I am using this monitor: lg-27MD5KA-B-5k-uhd-led-monitor
so i don't need a dongle, because it is usb c to usb c
are there any settings in android that need to be turned on?
Hello there.
I'm having an issue with my Nokia 6 TA-1039 where I can connect pretty much anything through OTG with an adaptor EXCEPT for my Dualshock 4.
I've been looking for information for the past 2 days, testing different cables and testing different devices, but only the DS4 is causing me trouble. It connects and charges, the light in the back turns on, but beyond that, it does nothing. Pressing the buttons does nothing, emulators don't recognize them, hell, even my Razer Panthera works.
Has anyone had this problem before and found a way to solve it? Is it some firmware compatibility issue or I'm just having super bad luck with my cables?
Thanks beforehand~
Hello y'all,
I recently discovered by accident that when I tried plugging in my PS4 controller through the USB-C port the phone was showing headphones icon in the status bar. And sure enough, the audio wasn't coming from the phone. So can anyone test this out since I don't have any USB-C headphones, but I always wanted them.
Thanks to anyone participating in this test.
Write your results here.
Audio through USB-C works at least since Android 8.1. I've USB-C mini DAC (Hidizs Sonata HD) and works perfectly. Also I tested Nobsound NS-10g USB input via USB host adapter and also works. So, isn't a new feature of 9.0 update, if you are thinking so.
I've been using fulla schiit 2, usb audio works on 8.1

Actually yes, I was thinking it's new because when I tried my friends USB C headphones it didn't respond.
But thank you for clarifying me! Your response is appreciated.

Does your Hidizs Sonata work also with Android Pie? I've just got Sonata II and it works only if I connect it within one minute after reboot. After that the phone ignores it and acts like nothing has been connected (but the phone is powering the dongle as I see increased draw in logcat and hear a very faint click in the headphones). So if I want to listen via Sonata, I must connect it first and reboot the phone, then it works perfectly. I tried all the available firmwares for Sonata, it does the same with all of them. With the PC or Huawei phone it works whenever I connect the dongle, so it most probably isn't faulty USB DAC, but rather something in the phone. Also I'm missing the option "Audio source" in the USB options in the phone's settings completely, if it makes any difference/sense.

Yes, my unit works perfectly with Android Pie, stock and custom ROM. What build are you using? Maybe something is corrupt

I'm no stock Android Pie, tried the adapter with February patch. Unfortunately adapter just stopped working with all of my devices (got really hot and then died completely), so can't verify with March update.
I'm going to visit an Apple store and try their USB-C - 3.5mm adapter, it is being said to be of a very high quality and is just 10USD/EUR and available locally, so I don't have to wait more than a month for delivery of another Hidizs from China.
Apple dongle behaves the same. Working when connected within ~1 minute after reboot, won't work on later (re)connection. I tried a different kernel to no avail. Would love to know why is it happening.
Edit: it happens that I'm forgetful, see explanation below
Oh my.. I'm stupid guys, I totally forgot that I configured recommended workaround "disable USB host" for 70000.USB wakelock couple of months ago. It was running one minute after boot via Tasker, no wonders I was experiencing this. Dongle works completely fine now (except of volume buttons on the Apple DAC). Sorry for stupid confusion.
As the title says, I want to use my PS3 controller on my Moto G5 Plus, primarily for flying wifi drones, but also for gaming, etc.. I'd prefer connecting it via USB as opposed to bluetooth which could cause some interference with the drone's wifi signal, but I'll take what I can get at this point. I've got an OTG cable, but Sixaxis Enabler says that the phone doesn't have the firmware required for the PS3 controller. Presumably that means I'd have to root and install a custom ROM that has it baked in, or (hopefully) just the firmware, but I can't find mention of this anywhere on the forums. Has anyone else tried it? Would Sixaxis Controller (not enabler) install the necessary firmware after my phone's rooted? Does anyone know of ROMs that already have it baked in? Or is it just not doable? That would be disappointing because I love the value of the phone otherwise.
Just for the record, whilst I don't have a PS3 controller, I was never able to get any USB game controller working on my device. It's detected, but never worked. Might be a power issue, that it can't supply enough power. Bluetooth may be your best bet.

I actually got a wired XBox360 controller to work by just plugging it in. My problem is that it's my only wired 360 one and the right stick only partially works, which could make flying the drone difficult.
