Only 48 megapixel mode saves pictures but nothing else will save. Has anyone else been having this issue? Any fix?
It ended up being a corrupted file in the dcim folder. I renamed the dcim folder (just added backup to the name) and everything started working as expected again.
Photo not save oneplus 8pro
Image not collected
I can take a picture. Turn off the power and turn it back on.
Anyone know how, please tell me.

Hi,
Anyone know if it is possible to prevent saving pictures and video to a folder for each day \20051905? I would like to save all pics to one folder \pics and \vids for example... is this possible?
Thanks,
OB.

I just noticed that I can't save any photos, but videos recorded with camera works just fine.
I copied all my photos to my computer and deleted all photos from storage card but still no luck. In camera settings storage card is selected and same thing in advanced config. I also uninstalled advanced config to see if there was some conflict but that didn't help either.
I also tried to search photos that i took with Resco Explorer but it seems that photos just aren't saved in anywhere.
Camera program works just fine to the point when picture is taken but after that there is this "multicolor waiting circle" which tells you that WinMo is doing something and the phone freezes about 30 second until it comes back to camera application, but nothing has actually been saved.
I know that Hard reset might fix the problem, but that's the last solution I wanna try.
photo's should be saved where the default Album location is set to, try changing that to the Device\My docs folder..?

They're all in default settings:
Save Location: DCIM
Encode Photos in portrait mode: Yes
Capture Key Delay: Enabled
Key Delay : Enabled
Capture Key Delay Time: 1500
Help anybody?
Just noticed that every other picturemode works just fine, but normal photo mode freezes the device
Well, i had the same problem an i thought it was a problem with the rom update or something like that. But the problem was: i had a DCIM map on my storage card. Strange, because this is the good location but no photo's was saved in here (only on the device self if i had select it). I deleted the map and tried it again to make a picture. And that was the solution. The camera made a new DCIM map and now the pictures are saved on the storage card again.
Camera save problem solved
to avoid problems in saving new photo you have to have this directory structure:
soragecard/DCIM/100MEDIA
open the card with a PC
delete the album file (it is like the thumb db on windows) to see the file you have to set show hidden file
insert the card in the phone and you are ok
byez
unable to save photos
In my case I'm not able to save at all, regardless of what resolution I'm using! Any idea on how to solve it?
sorry to push this old thread,
but now that my touch hd finally arrived i had the same problem, saving the image is not possible, the wait cursor appears, after some minutes disappears and the image wasn't saved.
now i found the malefactor: in schaps advanced config under camera you should change the "encode pictures in landscape (90°)" option. default was set to "NO", so leave it or change it back to it.
i hope this is useful!
Title says it all really.
anyone else find that the Album app shows the wrong thumbnail for some pics? If you tap on the thumbnail, picture that comes up is different. I am even finding that the thumbnail shown for some photos is a photo that has been deleted!
Eg. album shows thumbnail of photo I took with the camera. However, tapping on it brings up one of the default wallpapers. Every time I open Album, different pictures are affected. Tried searching but couldn't find a solution to this. Any ideas?
Hi fisha21
Had the same problem for some time. Did some research but without luck. What I did to fix it, i deleted the HTC Album Cache manually.
Go to
<YOUR_TOPAZ>Application Data\HTC\HTC ALBUM\Cache
and Backup all the files to your system for the case something goes wrong. My files are about 20mb so I think the thumbnails are stored in there.
When the backup is done, delete all files in the cache-folder and softreset your device.
After that all my thumbnails in HTC Album were plain white. I think that's because it has to renew the Cache first. This could take some time. I'm not sure what triggers the renewing of the cache. I just viewed some pictures an after some time everything was okay and it showed the right thumbails. Just be patient.
I hope the same procedure could help you too. If not just copy the backed up files back into the folder.
Thanks for the tip! Will give that a try.
I've had this problem too. It's actually really annoying as you never know which picture you're going to get!
I find that it seems to get better after a soft reset, but the more you scroll through your pictures the more jumbled they seem to get.
Did Syrus01's fix work for you? Did the problem come back again?
I'm hoping someone can help me.
For no explainable reason on my part, all my photos have disappeared. I can not see any photos in gallery or Google photos. I can however located photos that I took with my camera in DCIM Folder, however these don't show up in either photo app. I have tried restating and clearing gallery cache etc I have even tried restoring using smart switch to an earlier backup however the problem still exists.
Any clues what's going on?
Update: for some odd reason my phone was filled with ".nomedia" files. I deleted them all, restarted my phone and ran an app called "Media Re.Scan" and they magically reappeared. However only camera photos have reappeared. Other media has not, but I'm not sure they were visible to begin with. I would really appreciate if someone has a theory for this.
Update 2: Don't delete all .nomedia files as this will cause all jpeg files to show up in your gallery including system files and apps etc that have images. Instead only delete .nomedia files found in your photos folder and folders you want to appear in gallery etc. Make sure show hidden files is selected to find these files in the first place. I used ES file Explorer Pro.

Thanks. problem solved!
seeing the same problem in s8
i just got samsung s8 recently. i am new to the samsung phone but i am seeing the exact same problem. i see pictures i took from earlier today and a few fays ago just magically disapper. I have tried multiple things like deleting the cache, data, using quick pro, cut and paste the dscim in a new folder, deleting the .nomedia but i CANNOT make those missing pictures reappear anywhere. Anyone else who ran into this and maybe have fixed the problem?
I'm having the same problem on my S8...taking new pics & downloading pics/gifs then they disappear out of nowhere the next day or so. Just started happening after the last software update (4/3/18). Not sure why or how to recover them. I've had my phone since April 2017 & it's never done this before.
Photos corrupted
Hi guys,
sorry for resuming this post.
Happened this summer and never before on my SM-G935F ITV smartphone, never rooted and stock rom (Android 8).
I loose all the latest photos, or better they are on the card but the thumbnails are grey, I tried to open them with an hex editor and I discovered they are all filled by 0x0.
I used to save them directly on a SD from Huawei 256Gb, scanned and works perfectly.
The only dubt I have is the number of photos saved into the dcim folder, they are over 2048...magic number!
Once I moved the photos in another folder I can take the photos again as usual...
It's just to know if I discovered a bug or what...
Any one with this issue?
Thanks, Pier
Here's a new one on me. I took some pictures and all a sudden I can't share them with messaging or messenger. I get sorry "messenger was unable to process the file" I am using quikpic and also tried snap gallery. i tried clearing data/cache for quikpic and messages, did a smart clean and a reboot. I'm lost. any help is appreciated. I hope i don't have to reset.
looks like my camera pics moved back to the internal memory somehow and my explorer app still shows them on the SD card and when i try to open them then they won't load because they're not there. stock cam still shows SD card for storage. one of my camera apps must have glitched the phone.
So i copied the pics from internal camera folder to the external now i can' t look at those either. i think the file folder structure is glitched. the quikpic still can read pics from the memory card other then what i copied over. i do'n't know what happened. could have happened with Gcam froze up last night after taking a few pictures. so i loaded a diff camera to take pictures in a hurry. they must have both been trying to write to memory.
i still can't get my photos to my computer or anything. i can view them with photo galleries, edit with snapseed and send to mom with messaging through snapseed but the exported files can't be viewed either. i have some really nice pics of my pet birds that isn't easy to take sometimes. Is there some way to recover them?
now i am having the same problem when trying to load music from the file manager. the players say the file was modified or deleted.
