Hi guys, long time Android enthusiast.
I would like to enquire if anyone knows if the Oneplus 8 pro has the required v4l2 drivers to support OTG webcams. Software support is finicky between manufacturers (some just didn't implement it)
Could someone help me test? You can try out with a otg type c and this app:

i'm pretty sure the answer's gonna be 'no' but;
can this touch pro tv out cable be used on the touch cruise, i'm assuming not but anyone know if this be hardware and drivers/software or just drivers/software, in which case can we get the appropriate software/drivers from a dumped rom and adapt?
cheers
(sorry for posting accessory query here, but there's hardly any viewers in there!)
YES
Well the Pro has the same Input as TC, so it should be not a Problem to use.
You dont need any special Software, but the Device you want to connect should have Plug&Play Support to recognize the TC.
And if no Plug & Play Support on the TV, you will defitly need a Driver for that, but every new TV has the P&P Support. I dont think that you use a 10 Years old TV

Erm... you've got UDK r9??
are you sure, only you're saying that because the connectors are the same it will, but the touch pro has the same mini usb connector as many devices/predecessors such as TC P3650 and ARTEMIS P3300 but only the latest edition - the pro - is shown on the htc site as having tv out. also
you don't sound as though you're speaking from having tried it first hand.
sorry it's just the cable costs 15-20GBP which is a fair whack if it doesn't

TC has same input as PRO?
We are talking about output here and just about every HTC phone I have used has the 11 pin mini usb plug, so does that mean every HTC has TV out?
If that is the case why has HTC not release the cable before?

Not too mention modern Motorola phones as well as many peripherials, and I don't think it would be smart to assume they have TV out as well when paired with this cable.
anyone with an excess of cash (i.e. rich) - buy a cable and try it please!
Hello,
I am looking for list of hardware that supports Android, but this hardware needs to support OTG.
Is there a web site that has list of all the Android phones/tables that support OTG?
To be specific I am looking for something that has 4/4.5 inch screen and OTG.
Anybody knows if the new Motorola G phone supports OTG, I looked at their spec sheet doesn't call it out explicitly, where as Nexus 5 explicitly lists OTG support.

There are a few Chinese smart watches available that are running android 4.0 or higher and have built in mini usb ports. I am wondering if anyone knows if, or thinks that, the watch will support usb hosting. More specifically I would like to run an ANT+ usb stick through the watch in order to use it as a stand alone bike/exercise computer. My HR monitor and power measuring bike hub use the ANT+ signal.
Any other advice to get this little project rolling would be appreciated.
I'm looking at something like the CL-W211 smart watch.
Thanks
Hi,
Anyone tried connecting nubia z17 to an external Monitor? If so Please advice what usb type c hub or cable used, cause i have tried several but no luck.
anyone care to comment...
Hi all.
Just want expand on this.... This awesome phone is snapdragon 835... Along with all the other hardware..
Microsoft has already released the Windows 10 Arm OS.... Which has minimum spec of the snapdragon 835 processor. Very soon someone out there is going to be able to run full Windows OS to be able to dual boot. So we can go to our office and put the phone into type C hdmi hub and use it just like a desktop pc with external monitor with keyboard and mouse. By the way processor is powerful enough to run Microsoft word.. Excellent and all the packages we use on a day to day basis. Not only that it can run Adobe Photoshop. In design etc.
All I am asking at this stage is..... has anyone out there tried connecting the external monitor via the USB type C.... I have tried various hubs including mhl hdmi, the Samsung dex with no luck. Let's discuss the possibilities.
I searched many other forums and found that other phones having the same issue. The issue is that when usb type C is connected to the hub or hdmi cable the notification is says the phone is in charging mode only. It does not let me change to MTP mode. Tried going to developers mode "select USB configuration" and changing it but it does not change. This same problem is happening in many other phones. It may be many things but after reading many pages it may be.... The cable or hub or android 7 it self.
I think it's a matter of wait and see.... Unless of course someone has tried and it is working. By the way we are talking about WIRED CONNECTION and NOT wireless miracast. Please post your comments.

Only thing that I know is that otg usb memory stick works just fine.
Edit. Ask some of the kernel devs via priv message. They know more

Thanks for the tip, however, I think its abit overkill. haha. Just need someone with and OTG hub to test with a webcam.
Tried my USB-borescope (camera with a flexible tube and led lights) with OTG cable and it works just fine
Edit.. no idea about the sound tho, since that camera doesn't have any mic.
Aarrgghh. I need an adapter to make my old device connect to the new phone...
