"Meet" notification - OnePlus 8 Pro Questions & Answers

Hi guys, I am a OP 5T user. I found out while watching a review that OP introduced a new "meet" notification sound in their latest flagship.
Since I wasn't able to find it anywhere, can anyone of you guys please upload it here or help me find it?
Thanks

Idk how to open it atm. These used to not be stored in .bin format. Technically, you could prolly put it in a magisk module and maybe that way, get it put in system to play? Alternatively, if you know how I can locate it better or so, I can do that too.
(Uploaded with .zip extension. Just delete .zip)

Unfortunately I can't make it work, even changing file extension (tried .mp3 and .ogg)

I tried too. Is there different area the media is stored in? I'll see if I can find more info. But I pulled this directly off my phone.

You know what. I feel dumb. I searched, but I searched poorly. I also thought they were here: /system/media/audio/
I was wrong. I searched, and found it's in a different location. I EVEN HAD FILE MANAGER SEARCH MEET and it only came up with that file. Ugh. Here you go. Sorry for the inconvenience.
This time, change .zip to .ogg and you'll be good to go.

'Push' Wallpaper Into Device

Hey guys,
I'm looking for the proper directory to push wallpapers into my device, so I won't have to load it off the SD Card. Especially interested to inject the default Desire wallpapers.
Thanks,
Evan
The wallpapers are usually part of an apk. Usually it is Launcher.apk
If you know how to edit the files within an apk, that is one way, if not, its pretty simple, just find the wallpaper you want. Find the one you want to replace. Rename the wanted wallpaper to the same as the wallpaper you will be replacing. Copy it over and do the same for the wallpaper_small.png file that corresponds. Then either adb push or use an adb GUI to get the launcher.apk back over to the phone.
This is in no way, a detailed description, just the jist of how to do things.
launcher2.apk if you're running Android 2.0 or higher.
But otherwise, above is correct.
Cheers guys,
Can I just keep adding files? Or do I have to rename files?

No, you can't just add... there are a pre-defined and finite number of "slots" - you can't include more than the application currently supports. Files need to be exactly the correct names.
Also, if the files are different sizes, or you change too many, you'll upset the digital signature on the launcher2.apk you'll need to resign the launcher2.apk file before pushing it back.
If that all sound too hard let me know...

That does sound a bit 'hard'. But nothing I can't tackle with a bit of reading.
So, how do re-sign the launcher2.apk file?

Let me know how you get on.
That doesn't sound overly complicated, but it's too much work for a single wallpaper from the HTC Desire. As of right now, it resides in the SDCard. And I do use HelixLauncher2. I wish there's a simpler way… let's say, like an app that can inject files directly into HelixLauncher2.
Thanks for your help, though!
Fair enough.
You may be interested in keeping an eye on Kang-o-rama, that uses HelixLauncher2 and I'll be adding some static wallpapers back in in version 0.6.
If you are interested, let me know which wallpaper you want and I'll put it in there for you...

[Q] Extract single application from custom rom

hey,
I wanted to extract "Torch" application from "Azure" Rom and few other applications. as Torch is the only working app which did really enable the LED for HTC Legend.
I actually opened the ZIP package to path \azure-1.0.1.zip\system\app where the applications are stored, every app comes in APK and OBEX files. I extracted few APKS, non of them worked.
I am seeking some help for extracting the application from the ROM.
Thanks in advance!
lamppu is a good LED torch. You need root to use it, look in market

I have looked in market, but it doesnt seem to exist there. However, do you know anyway to extract the application as working APK file?
Any other LED torches that works with LEGEND?
*EDIT: well, I found it, its named Lamppu. but anyway it didnt work, although my phone is rooted! why is that?
Try Extended Controls, there is a Torch Widget which worked on my HTC Legend. (NOTE:Root access Required For this very Widget)

If you find a ROM that has both .apx and .odex in the app-folder you will not get it to work by only extracting the .apk file.. You need both of the files in order to include them in another ROM..
Use a backup program like Titanium backup or MyBackup pro: they will extract for you.

That makes sense...but who would I merge the .apk and .obex together to be in one .apk file so I can install it?
Or maybe you know some way I can install these files?
Help would be really appreciated.

You mean like after loading the custom ROM, I backup the application I want then restore them after I load the custom I want?!
This is just long process of backing up your data then load custom rom, then back to the old rom, then root then restore...
I thought there might be easier and shorter ways?!
Any help would be appreciated. Gracias!
Anyone to help?????
try the kitchen method.
Scout around in the .zip to find the package you want, copy the .apk to your ADB directory and then, with the phone plugged in:
Code:
adb install [I]path-to-package[/I].apk

To be honest you've answered your own question. What you've done is the easiest way to pull an app from a ROM. So if your issue is something else it may be an idea to re-write your question (again, I know. Sorry).
I also apologise for mis-interpreting your question the first time 'round. I hope my help in this post is better.

Your help so much appreciated mate!
Well, the last conclusion I got to is, the .apk and .obex files are actually one file but they were divided to 2 files just to make them work better, so if you take the .apk file only it wont work as it will be missing the other .obex file.
Anyway, I am also guessing there is a way to merge the 2 files back, I read a little about "de-odex" but I couldnt really get the best help I could get. I will post the solution once I get to it.
Thanks again for your help mate!

I know it's a pain, but de-odexing the whole rom might help. Unless you already did this, in which case something is wrong with your download I imagine.

After installing new rom(s) we should install a file manager. Is there any way to install one by default, in order to reach the apk files at sdcard. (Any other solution is also appreciated.)

Srsly, delete it yourself before mods do and more member rage because you're simply not abled to use any of the 239087 fileexplorers from the market/preinstalled ones in almost every rom.

google for file manager apk and download it from the web
Thank you all for your nice (!) answers. I am aware of downloading an app from the market or can google for it too. What I have asked was to preinstall one in order not to loose time everytime for searching android market. If there is one preinstalled, why can I not see it? Where is the so called "file manager" hidden? If you answer it I will delete my thread and shoot myself to Pluton
Okay guys be nice... This is the kind of thing I hate when I log in first thing in the morning... A new guy getting his ass ripped apart for asking a question just because you don't like the question or because it's posted in the wrong forum... It's not necessary and it only depreciates the quality of the site...
Not ALL ROMs come with a file manager so it is a legitimate request. Albeit I wouldn't have opened a new thread in Development just to ask for it.
Adao File Manager is a good free file manager that can/should be included in EVERY ROM. I concur that chefs probably should include this since it's very small size-wise and is extremely functional.
That being said, it is entirely the chef's choice.
Now... This thread is located in the wrong section so I'm going to close it but I'm not going to delete it.

I looked through the apk and didn't see this image anywhere. I think they're downloaded remotely, so not built into the apk.

I'm thinking the same thing. I also went through the apk and didn't find anything. I haven't had any luck searching in the internal file system, but if it's downloaded remotely, I would expected to find it somewhere. Hmmm...

It's probably stored in cache, which I don't know how to look through. Good luck!
You can find it in the Nvidia Customization.apk

Can you upload it somewhere?
Give your mail, I will send you
Regards.
Thanks for sending me the file.
Actually, changing the file is easy, but I'm not sure how we can replace the system NvCustomize.apk after changing it. even if we sign it, it has to be with the original sign key, which I dont believe we have.
Anyone been doing this before?
Edit:
Actually, I did it with XPosed and a custom module that I wrote. Unfortunatelly, it doesn't want to usa a resource from the sdcard/internal storage, it has to be hardcoded in the app. Ill continue to look for a solution.

[Q] Please help, can someone export the /vendor/ folder?

Hi guys!
I had an Essential phone before, but switch to a Pixel 2 XL. VoLTE was working before, but not anymore. So I started digging to get the VoLTE working with a bypass. I need someone to make an export of the /vendor/ folder, where certain .mbn files are stored. They contain certain provider related data which may get VoLTE working, in my case for a dutch provider.
So if you are rooted you could help me out!
Using any root explorer, copy the /vendor/ from the root to your sd card. Zip this folder and upload it to a Google Drive or something. Much obliged!
Thanks alot!

That is weird, then how does Essential get their mcfg_sw.mbn files for its lte network configuration? In a Pixel, there is a /vendor/mbn/mcfg/* folder containing provider configurations from almost all providers in the world.

It doesn't either in the Pixel, but after flashing and booting for or inserting a sim card for the first time makes it appear.
I don't know how this is possible, are you able to make a .mbn search inside other folders?

Essential uses a compatibility matrix. Xml for a lot of the network stuff as far as i know and embedded deep in what we would call the device tree.so with the compatibility matrix they set the bools and its just true or false. Oh and in the manifest.. with each vendor img it seems they are simplifying it too, so probably the thing u are referencing is in there just as something else. Theres always a multitude of ways to hardcode something. If it was me i would hardcode it in the device tree source files and set it with bools. It allows for easy changes. And easier readability.

Thanks for the explaination. An example .mbn file can be found here: http://www.renovate-ice.com/svn/leedroid-11/trunk/system/vendor/mbn/mcfg/configs/mcfg_sw/generic/
Just browse inside the folders and you will bump to a mcfg_sw.mbn file eventually.
Any idea how to get something like this from the Essential?
