Hello everyone i bought oneplus 6t few days ago and rooted it but unfortuntely there is an app which is not working due to root and i need to use it. so i decided to uninstall root and flashed stock rom via local upgrade and relocked the bootloader. But that app is still showing root error. I downloaded root check from play store and it is saying root access is not properly installed. showing some applet source installed (Toybox). Any help would be appreciated of how to remove it. i am attaching the screenshot.

I think all he needs to do is to reflash a full new stock rom, maybe wiping the devices if needed. MsmTool will work too but it will wipe everything including internal sd-card storage.
Also he should have tried to use magisk hide and change magisk manager package name to hide root from most apps. .Some look for unlocked bootloader but magisk should hide that as well. I can use all my apps with root still.

He relocked the bootloader. So if he wants what he said he must flash with msm . Yeah he must have to backup his data. But there is no option without wiping i think cause if he wants to unlock his bootloader it will also wipe storage.

Correct. Didn't see he relocked the bootloader. I think that wiped his phone already. He can't flash a rom then, only msmtool.

Hello everyone!
Actually I am on stock Android, version 4.3, without root, bootloader onlock, etc. So it's untouched.
Now I would like to flash the following mod:
[MOD][NEXUS 4][4.3 + 4.2.2][DEODEX + ODEX][STOCK ROM] 1% Battery Mod
I want to do it with Mobile ODIN Pro. Before that, I was planing to root my Nexus with the Nexus Root Toolkit.
Do I need to unlock the bootloder as seen in the screenshot? Or is just a root sufficient?

Thank you very much in advance!
Does Mobile Odin even work with the Nexus 4? I was under the impression it mostly for Samsung products.
Why not root, install custom recovery and flash with custom recovery?
I want to get the OTA updates from google. It is not possible with a custom recovery. Is there another away? I just need this one mod.
Take the SystemUI.apk out and manually replace each battery icon in the correct folder.

Do I need a root for it? (noob question)
I read something about a possibility to load into recovery, install things and after a reboot the recovery should be deleted automatically. Or did I get something wrong?

You will need root to get to SystemUI.apk (you might be able to pull with ADB but I'm not 100% sure.
A custom recovery will not delete itself.
You can't replace the ROM installed at time of locking with another or you get a black screen. And I don't think mobile Odin is for nexus 4 being a Samsung program.

You can also use the toolkits to bring up a custom recovery temporarily without actually flashing it, so you can keep your stock recovery.

I rooted it, flashed a custom recovery and installed the mod. If google releases an update, I will flash it manually. No need for OTA Updates.
Thank you very much!

Follow this thread to restore your phone to stock.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45293512
This will wipe everything (including internal SD card) and return your phone to the same state as if you were pulling it out of the box for the first time.
Not exactly... After this method the phone status remains "rooted" when booted in download mode. Couple of users reported this problem...
Edit: here's the fix http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52991286

That tool does not unroot your phone. All it does it trip the root flag so when you boot into download mode it says unrooted. It is meant to be used so that if you take your phone into your carriers store and an associated wants to check if its rooted, it will say its unrooted when the associate puts it in download mode, but it is in fact still rooted. This DOES NOT unroot the phone.

Sure. But after you flash kdz file with flashtool the phone isn't rooted anyway, although in DLM it states "rooted"...
As I undrstand it, somehow after you flash kitkat kdz it misses some files and status "rooted" appears in DLM. Explained here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2703501

Interesting. I never had that happen when I used it. I'll keep an eye on this thread in case something's happens. Thanks for sharing.
Are there any custom recoveries out there for our s7 edge t mobile? I have it rooted now but are there any recoveries? I have been searching and had no luck.
Nope

No there arent. To flash stuff you need to download flashfire from the play store. It works just like twrp but it's a app. When you want to flash something you will select the plus sign in the bottom right corner and select zip. It's super easy to use
Thought i had found a recovery for some odd reason, and it was def. Exynos twrp. There a way to flash the stock recovery img? Im thinking of flashing through flashfire but im afraid after flashing it actually wouldnt wipe since there seems to be no recovery, only a download mode menu, whilst saying recovery booting.

I personally haven't tried but if you want to risk bricking go for it. If it's any comfort, I doubt anything will happen. Worse case scenario is that it installs, you trip Knox and unable to mount the system partition and won't be able to boot it up. But even then... Odin should still be possible. But again... I wouldn't risk it. I'm fairly sure that it's been tried. There is a QC version of the recovery somewhere that never worked via Odin back in June or so.
I personally was the first to attempt flashing twrp via flashfire. it will not work. DM-Verity kicks in and will not allow it to load. you get a BRIEF flicker of twrp loading up and it loads the failed integrity check. the good news was i was able to flash the stock files and got it loading again with no KNOX trip or errors.

Nice that looks great. Question: In how far is this better or any different from Wug Fresh (beneth the fact that yours does not offer root)?

Thanks for making such a great work! :good: I don't want to be rude, but some people are looking for a tool to completely replace NRT. Is there anything missing in your tool that we should be aware of? Anything we can not do but doable with NRT? Is it 100% compatible with Win10 and 8.1 factory images? Thanks!

For now all is working good, the only think you can't do with this tool is to root your phone, nrt tool use a modified boot.img to root it and for now i don't want to make the same
Phone info: March Security Update (i dont know why i didn't update it until now lol)
So back then I successfully rooted my phone - and it works i do have root access and magisk is installed. But after a few months just like 4-5, i noticed that the magisk is not installed on my phone so I can't install magisk modules.
Here's my screenshots:

}
As you can see from my screenshots, I do have root access but the thing is The magisk is not installed even though I've tried to root it again using patched_boot.img (MARCH UPDATE) - still not yet installed. I tried to install the magisk using that install buttom from magisk app itself but still didn't work. I don't know how it happened. I wasn't doing anything even though i am not uninstalling magisk - it's just disappears from my phone lol.
Any recommendation for my problem? I need your help guys and thank you for those who are going to answer my problem!
