Been trying to root my max pro M1 but had the same problem : cannot connect to wifi where as
Wifi Mac Address is 02:00:00:00:00:00
And no IP Adress
Steps I took to root
*Unlocked bootloader
*Flashed TWRP several times ( was having problem accessing TWRP )
*Rebooted system with TWRP and still can connect to wifi (found out when I did some trial and errors)
*Flashed magisk then decrypt through TWRP
*Device cant connect to wifi but is rooted
Tried various fixes but to no avail.
Is flashing stock os the only way?
I want to keep my device rooted tho.
Also, if I downgrade from pie to oreo, will rooting be stable? ( I've seen rooting guide threads saying it wouldn't work on pie official ). But then will the same problems( no wifi Mac Address and ip or other more ) occur ?
I've decided to go all out on the questions Forgive my laziness ?
Update:
It's obvious that I didn't explore my options very well because I'm impatient but apparently I made it work again.
Here's how I did it ( if it helps )
I downgraded from pie to Oreo 8.1 then did everything starting there.
Unlocked the bootloader
Flashed latest TWRP
Flashed magisk and decrypt
And then viola. Can connect to wifi with no problems.
Hope it helps.
(Got my sources from XDA itself but I think I'm not allowed to post links)
Try Flash stock then reinstall custom ROM.

So im trying to root my oneplus 5 and i started off by using Lineage OS but i wasnt too happy with it and i liked Oxygen OS much better so i decided to go back to it and while doing so like an idiot i wiped everything in twrp including the storage with all my ROM files and the phone was bricked and after a long struggle i used the unbrick tool which is called MSM tool which installed oxygen 4.5.8 using some some Qualcomm mode or something and it booted and worked fine but ever since i wasnt able to download the oxygen 5.1.1 update through the phones update section, it reaches 100% and says signature verification failed and goes back to 5%. So i tried downloading the latest Open Beta from the OP site and tried local upgrade which said installation failed so i try installing it locally through the Oxygen Recovery but again Installation failed so i try unlocking the bootloader again and installing it through twrp and it just keeps showing the boot animation forever( i know people say be patient but i waited for 20 mins+). So i decided to use the unbrick tool again and now im stuck on the OOS 4.5.8 unable to update the phone.
I tried to flash the latest oreo through twrp several times and just tried flashing it through so many ways where none worked , even adb sideloading it worked till 47% and said installation failed and everytime this happens i have nothing left to do but use the tool and unbrick it again and this takes so much time as i have to unbrick and then do the first setup and then go to fastboot and unlock the bootloader and do the setup again and transfer the files and then install twrp and flash.
Nothing has worked so far
And now even when i go back to the 4.5.8 stock after unbricking for some reason it just doesnt connect to any wifi , it just says Connecting and then saved and then disabled and repeat, only my mobile data works.
I tried to flash lineage again but got an error 7 with it or something and im back to the stock unbricked state without wifi and all i can do is unlock bootloader and install twrp.
If anybody has any suggestions and can help me please do so immediately. I require my phone urgently and need to fix this fast.
Thank You !
(btw im in India and do local service centres fix such issues?)
Make sure you use newest twrp. And also flash firmware for 5.1.1

i am using the latest codeworkx twrp 3.2.1 and when should i flash firmware? can you just give the process i should do? stuck at 4.5.8 without wifi with twrp and unlocked bootloader
Wipe everything except internal storage, after that click format data and type "yes" to accept. Then download oos 5.1.0 firmware from here https://sourceforge.net/projects/cheeseburgerdumplings/files/15.1/cheeseburger/firmware/ and lineageos 15 (or any rom you want now), gapps and move all 3 packages to your phone. Flash firmware first and then reboot to recovery. Then flash rom or gapps and reboot
You have to flash the latest TWRP from twrp.me, then download the latest OxygenOS build. Reboot into TWRP, wipe data, cache, system and flash the latest build, then just go to wipe > format data, type "yes" and reboot
Lol man your OP5 is not bricked, if you can boot on TWRP, you can install all that you want
I advise to Format Data/Storage, Wipe everything and install xXx 10.7 (OOS Custom with a great Aroma installer), choose decrypted, it's better if you want swtich rom in the future AOSP > OOS > AOSP
bro i have same probleme after install any rom custom or official , always stuck on boot logo , any solution ?
no solution??
Hi,
I have a problem on my phone (Asus Zenfone 2 Laser running on rooted android 6) : I can't turn wifi on, when i click on the wifi button it does absolutely nothing...
It happened when I updated from magisk 16 to magisk 17, I got bootlooped due to a bug, after this I flashed the uninstall magisk zip and I flashed magisk 16 again, and it happened at this moment.
I already tried :
Updating to magisk 17.1 (the fixed version)
Power cycling my phone
Restoring a rootless save
(I try to avoid the factory reset but if there's no other solutions I'll do it.)
Need help for reflashing kernel

Hi again,
Update : I learnt on the magisk wiki that this issue can be solved by reflashing the kernel.
So if anyone can help me to reflash my actual kernel/a new one compatible with my ze500kl, aka Zenfone 2 laser. (My actual kernel is "3.10.49-perf-gcb6a1aa")
Thanks in advance !
Hi again,
I tried to flash the image of my original firmware's zip (found in this zip from the official Asus website)
http: //prntscr.com/kpoq3d
My phone booted normally but I still can't turn the wifi on...
Afterwards I tried to flash the firmeware's zip from twrp, wich didn't worked.
(I also tried to sideload via ADB, wich didn't worked too.)
Hey all,
I'm having issues with my tablet (SM-T350) reconnecting to any wifi networks on reboot or turning wifi off and on.
I had previously flashed custom firmware (Lineage OS) and found it to be too unreliable (crashing, etc.), so I decided to flash the stock firmware back onto it. But now, I keep having to enter my wifi password every time I reboot.
It connects when I enter it, but when I reboot, it gives an authentication error and requires me to enter the password again.
I've tried flashing both Lollipop and Nougat onto it, and I get the same issue with both.
I've also tried resetting my wifi settings, using a static IP, doing a factory reset, even rooting it and changing ro.securestorage to false, deleting the DHCP folder, and trying to change the psk in the wpa_supplicant.conf file using a root file explorer. Nothing has worked so far.
Flashing Lineage fixes the authentication error, so it seems the issue is with the stock firmware?
I have tried restoring my TWRP backup I created before ever flashing anything, but that just causes it to stop at the Samsung logo. I believe I was on Marshmallow when I created the backup, and for some reason flashing the Marshmallow stock firmware creates the same issue.
I'm at a total loss as to what to do. Any information will be greatly appreciated.
Hello, i have an issue that my Wifi stopped working on my device, it is unable to be turned on, only thing that works is mobile data, after unlocking, everything was still fine, but after rooting using magisk, it stopped working. Is there any fix for this issue? Ive already tried other things but they failed.
You tried to flash vendor.img
Xiaomi Firmware Updater
The ultimate script that provides firmware packages for Xiaomi devices.
xiaomifirmwareupdater.com
The phone has been fully reset, and all works fine now, but i still need to know safe way to root the device.
Update : ive succesfully rooted using proper magisk zip using OrangeFox recovery and it was a success, this thread is no longer needed to be replied.
Hi,
is anyone running latest B20 Oreo rom on an A2017U phone with Magisk v25?
When I patch boot image and flash it via EDL the phone doesn't boot it, I have to restore original boot.img to be able to boot android again.
Also, fastboot is not available in the stock EDL images, any idea how to get fastboot back?
Thanks
Hi,
For first, I flashed some ROMs earlier in my life but it was like 5 years ago. I'm not expert in that field. That being said... I'm running B02 Oreo ROM on A2017G but i had the same problem. I managed somehow to find somewhere (can't remember which site) that "Magisk 16.4 should work because 16.0 version had some problems". So I tried 16.4 and it worked for me. Unfortunately data partition, although it shouldn't after root, stays encrypted (in TWRP).
Also, if You boot to system and open Magisk manager it will show You that update is available. After updating to the latest app version it will say that your version of Magisk is not supported now and You should update it (meaning, flashing latest zip). I didn't try it but assuming that earlier it didn't want to boot with the latest version on "Magisk-v25.1.zip" it won't at this time too.
It's so hard to find any information about this phone this day's... I would love if someone knew how to disable this encryption. I tried I think every solution and nothings seems to work :/
I hope I'm not late and my post will help You
