Fellows:
Got the tmobile variant thought I would share uninstalling the t-mobile apps or any other if you'd choose. I will debloat more apps. Until we figure out bootloader unlock. This this should work with any phone. I have tried it with the v60.
HTML:
adb shell
To view installed packages: just copy them without the package:
HTML:
pm list packages
pm uninstall --user 0 <packagename>
Then you should see success and it should disappear from your launcher.
Example is "to remove youtube play"
HTML:
pm uninstall --user 0 com.google.android.apps.youtube.music
T-mobile Play
HTML:
pm uninstall --user 0 com.tmobile.m1
T-mobile app
HTML:
pm uninstall --user 0 com.tmobile.pr.mytmobile
YouTube Music
HTML:
pm uninstall --user 0 com.google.android.apps.youtube.music

Yes it will. Just make sure to run the pm list packages. An easier way to identify the packages install an app called "package name viewer 2" from the play store.
Anyone know where to track converting a TMO variant to international firmware? Did it to my 7pro and loved the quick updates.

Mine is carrier locked from TMobile. It is not greyed out anymore because I unlocked the sim.
I don't think yours should be greyed out if you purchased the unlocked version.

It shouldn't be at all since theirs no network locking. After factory reseting it with the sim inside 5 separate times, it finally allowed me to unlock the bootloader. That's gotta be a bug but at least it resolved itself after some persistence

Maybe it was the carrier settings that gets installed with the phone setup. It happened on an unlocked pixel, had to take out the sim card and do a couple of restarts and worked.

you mean allowed OEM unlock? even if you toggle "OEM unlock" that doesn't mean your bootloader is unlocked. You have to get the unlock code while in the bootloader via fastboot and then submit your unlock code to OnePlus. Then after 7 days they'll email you your "Unlock Token" which you can use to unlock your bootloader. Unfortunately the option to submit an unlock request for the 8 isn't available yet...

The 8 5G is up on the unlock site. But it is not accepting my IMEI as valid. Not sure what's going on. I'll keep trying throughout the day.

I did some searching and have not found anything recent about the topic... Was this ever figured out? are we just going to be in the dark with a locked down loader forever?
Maybe i missed the tread where this is currently still being discussed please direct me!
I haven't been able to find any information either. I have been monitoring XDA, Rootz and Droidforums and development seems to be fairly dead.

Hi all, I am currently looking for the stock firmware for the Cricket Wireless variant of the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime. Any help would be appreciated. I'm currently trying to flash my phone back to KitKat to expose a flaw in the system that would allow me to bypass the reactivation lock. My friend seems to have lost his account and can't recover it so I am doing him a favour and trying to help him out. I know development on this transition device is difficult but I am willing to be patient. Thanks again
I am also looking for this as well as it is my understanding that I need this to get back to KitKat after my phone upgraded to Lollipop which I do not want for certain reasons

I just found a G530AZ for sale on Ebay "as is" seeing it has physical damage. The seller reports it still has 4.4 so I wonder if buying it and backing up the rom on it and posting that here for everyone will work? I just worry about it being automatically upgraded before that can happen.
Also I read on another site that it might be possible that it CANT be rolled back to Kit Kat because the bootloader is being overwritten. Not too sure what that means.
Hoping someone can clarify if going back to stock Kit Kat is even possible and if so should I buy this phone from Ebay? (Or maybe someone more experienced could get it and help us all out and also get more use from it?)
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BxcLJPerShJ_ZDJrNV9fRVBSdU0&usp=sharing Here ya go this has kitkat or lollipop choose your folder then download the ones labeled with ALL at the beginning.

I think maybe if i flash the csc from a different variant we might be able to get the option to unlock oem in our developer settings menu as well, I will see if i can get the csc from one of these other variants and maybe give it a shot tomorrow, unless someone that knows more about such things advises against it or if you already know its pointless. Thanks for input but we gotta get this puppy full unlocked as we are missing out on custom roms and recovery on our cricket version.
Well csc flash results in failed out checks need tonedit the aboot to unlock unfortunately

Hello all. I have an unlocked S7 Edge, model SM-G935VC. It's from Xfinity Mobile (yes, I'm an employee). Since the phone is already carrier unlocked, is it possible to just flash the AT&T firmware and have it work with my AT&T service? I really don't want to mess the phone up, but I do not see much of anything on my model # on the internet.
You should be able to flash any us carrier firmware on it.

Hey
I also have the s7 edge through xfinity mobile. Can I root this? I'm only asking because there's no xfinity mobile section on xda yet. If so which carrier thread method do I use?
Thanks

any updates on this phone? i just bought one cheap from a xfinity employee on craigslist thinking it was a verizon phone. ive got its stock rom working with verizon but trying to flash TWRP /w odin and getting an error (secure check failed: recovery) sorry to hijack this thread but its the only hit i could find for the device model anywhere on google (bleeding edge!!!)

Bootloader is locked and encrypted on US Qualcomm devices, I don't think it's possible to flash anything that has not been signed by Samsung themselves.
Does anyone have the stock rom for the s7 from Xfinity? I'm stuck in a boot loop and can't find a copy. Module SM-6930VCC
Hi, I used to be an old and loyal user of Sony Xperia, now I am passed to the Dark Side (Samsung xD). I see that there some little difference on flashing and installing Roms, but basically it is the same.
I just wonder know if there exists such thing like a generic or unbranded firmware (maybe global) for the S8 and where I can get it. I am from México and my carrier is Telcel, so I am tired of all his bs bloatware they install.
Thank you
Just use pm uninstall -k --user 0 name.apk to remove the junk
Go to Updato.com and search for firmware for the G950U1. The XAA version is carrier free. It contains NO carrier bloat and is generally much smoother.

No, you just have to do it with a PC via adb. Also instead of name.apk you have to use package name (like com.xyz.zyx, you can list them with adb shell pm list packages). G950F clean European firmware has XEU CSC.
G950F and G950U are different. U version uses Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU while F has Samsung Exynos
Nice, I will check which option convices me more, thank you.

There is google play service in AL00 (CHN ver).
But you have to install google play store yourself (no root needed).
Just go to any app store to find google play store and install it.
For keyboard, just install what you like in play store is okay.
Generally, there are more interesting functions in Chinese version firmware. I don't think is bad. The only problem is that the position service is provided by Baidu but not google by default. There may be a bit different in precision (I don't know, I just supposed it).

There is google play service in AL00 (CHN ver).
But you have to install google play store yourself (no root needed).
Just go to any app store to find google play store and install it.
