I have a Lenovo TAB 8 with Model # of TB-8304F1 from Wal-Mart, and want to root it and install custom recovery. Is there currently any method to root it? If not, are there plans to support it? If not, why not? I see methods for every other TAB 8 model, but not this one. I live in the US. Thanks for any help you can provide.
Im trying to root mine as well. Have you figured out a method yet?
Here is a Guide to root the Lenovo Tab 8
(GUIDE) Lenovo Tab 8 (Lenovo TB-8304F1) Root Guide
I found a way to root this tablet booted root. However it will tell you it has a red state when you turn it on and stall your boot by 5 sec. NOTE: If you would like to obtain your own boot image from your tablet to feel safer Follow this Post...

This is universal method works 100%.
1,Flash twrp recovery in odin ( uncheck auto reboot in odin options )
2,once odin says PASS take battery off and insert again.
3, boot into twrp by pressing 3 button combo ( volume up+home+power all together once you see revovery booting on left top corner let go all buttons.
3,once booted into twrp go to install and flash supersu.zip .
Thats it.
Your device may reboot twice but dont freak out its normal just let it boot completly.
Twrp for N910F download link.

Not work for me. Fresh install stock n910f, TWRP from link abowe, full wipe (works and boot ok). But after installing SuperrSU system stuck on Galaxy Note 4 logo with blue LED enabled.

Don't bother with Super SU anymore. Follow the instructions to install TWRP via Odin then reboot to TWRP and flash the latest Magisk which you can find here on XDA, along with complete instructions for how to flash & use it.
Hey guys need help rooting SM P580 Tab A 2016 with S pen. I have found some posts but not sure what method and files to use for this model. I was really into flashing a few galaxies ago before Sammy started locking everything up and now you cant root the newer phones, so i need some help trying to root this Tab A. Thanks Guys
super easy, just use odin to flash twrp and then flash the supersu zip from twrp

i also have the sm-p580. anyone know if there is a working TWRP for this tablet? the current one that was used for android 7 no longer works when the tablet is running android 8.1
Anyone have an answer for this, I too am desperately trying to root my tablet that was updated to 8.1 by a well intentioned friend, now I'm stuck with 16gb of bloated ram & I can't move aps to the SD card or delete these stupid apks I don't need/want. I need this thing for my primary communication during a big trip in a few weeks & I'm panicked.
So I had this Moto G4 Plus phone at my house and I needed it to do some work and to do that work the phone needs to be rooted, I've been trying to root the phone since 6 hours and I'm unable to do so and then I found out that the bootloader needs to be unlocked in order to do so & the warnings of bootloader are kinda scary and I dont want to destory my phone.
My requirement is I need anroid 7 or 7+ and need it rooted and nothing else.
How can I do it? Can I either install some custom .
I have android 7.0 running on my phone right now

Please have a look at the guides section where such guides are available in each device section: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/how-to/guide-newbie-resource-thread-t3386584
If you have already android 7, just follow the guide to unlock the bootloader, flash twrp, ElementalX kernel and then magisk for root.
Dear XDA members,
I'm posting this under A3500 thread because I can't find my model-related posts anywhere on this forum. I've recently acquired a Lenevo A5500-HV tablet second hand. I first intended to use it just during live gigs with my band so I can scroll through tect and chords so it was more than enough. Now I want to mod it to my needs since it still has a 6hr screen on youtube time (so battery is ok).
I've started with rooting, it was oe click with KingRoot app, no problems, verified with root checker and some root exclusive apps like Official TWRP app.
The problem is I can't find TWRP or CWM recovery for that model for -->android 4.2.2<-- OR upgrade to 4.4.2 (because I found recoveries for 4.4.2).
Second thing is I can't find ADB drivers for it.
What can I do, is there another model's custom recovery that I can use (that won't send me to bootloop like it is now), is there a way to modify other model's recovery, what are the possibilities?
I know it's an older model, but I'd appreciate any info you can give me.
Hi Everyone,
my device is Galaxy tab A SM-T590
I was hoping with rooting my Tab A to get access to SuperUser commands in the same environment
(just as you create a root password in Linux)
so i found a guide on the internet downloaded a Rom and installed it via Odin
but now it looks more that i installed a factory Binary, with all kind of Hardware tests but not looking in any way like a useable android version
all kind of things even rebooting
is this wat rooting means? or did i just f*ck it up and install the wrong binary?
how to get it back to a working android version with play store access etc?
Thanks in advance,
Jan-Willem
unbelievable .... downloaded another image .... now it is just the way it was ... root checkers says i have no root access ./.. i don't get it at all
no one said it was easy ... but a day later many burnt hours and practically only did a factory reset and wiped all my apps... im a noob

Not my tab so I can't help directly, but you'll need Magisk and a patched boot image for rooting. Check the Magisk subforum for a guide or more users that are able to help you.

Steps to unlock bootloader of Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 (SM-T597, SM-T595, SM-T590) without facing any hurdles. Dear folks, you have to activate OEM unlock
androidbiits.com
learned there i should use magisk ... but the screen of magisk does not really appear self explanatory
looking at https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html#samsung-system-as-root
patching images is not that easy ... first unlock the bootloader
found a tutorial https://www.thecustomdroid.com/galaxy-tab-a7-2020-rooting-guide/
the more i read the less i understand
first step unlock the bootloader by pressing volume up and down at the same time
and when you did this, then connect it to the PC while holding these buttons
after long pressing volume up it should unlock the bootloader ... it does not

androidbiits.com
tells me that OEM and USB debugging should unlock the bootloader allready
maybe it depends on what device you have and what version
i think my device does not have the vaultkeeper
used this one https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html#samsung-system-as-root
sent the complete AP to the device
patched it with magisk (
uploaded it with ADB
restarted my tab in download mode (power + vol up then choose bootloader mode)
installed BL+AP+CSC with odin use 3.13 because 3.12 hangs detecting my device
rebooting i see a message about setting waranty bit kernel .... bye bye warranty ??
booting takes long long long
magisk seems to be half installed and wants to install aditional stuff and reboot
has now a superuser tab .. looks promising
installed root checker --- oow yeah i can give root acces .. it is like a sudo
installed link2sd --- i can give this one SU rights too .. now the most exiting part
trying to convert an app into a system app
my /system is not in /proc/mounts ... that is a deception
there seems to be a systemizer module in magisk
installed the app systemizer
GPS joystick the special version from their own page
used ADB shell to run systemize
there is a /system ams a somewhat priv-system ... i tried both
but somehow the enable system mode remains greyed out
but rooting worked ... the rest is for some other time
