Rooted OnePlus 5 with up to date magisk.
Whatever file manager I use, I can mount /system in r/w mode, but whenever I actually want to edit a file under /system, it tells me that file system is read only.
I have tried via shell command:
Code:
OnePlus5:/ # mount -o r,w / system
mount: bad /etc/fstab: No such file or directory
so that gets me nowhere.
I want to edit certain properties in /system/etc/media_profiles.xml in order to improve audio recording quality, but I am stuck at getting that particular partition mounted r/w.
Anyone?
Code:
su -c mount -o rw,remount /system

Does this command work for any phone?
Here is the solution to your problem my friends. Enjoy!
Works like a charm in Android 10 and later. Now my system, vendor and product partitions are read-write!
Use at your own risk!

Is there any way to access files on the SDcard from within Debian, or transfer files between them?
Anyone know?
Oh also, if you start Debian, and then press back and the terminal resets, how do you get back into Debian? I mean, since Debian is still running (somewhere).
I'm guessing not too many Debian users on XDA, eh?
Debian or your desktop environment rather should recognize both partitions automatically. If it doesn't happen, find the device (sdb2 or something like that) and mount it yourself.
If the xserver crashed, log in at the console and run startx. Press Ctrl+Atl+F7 if it has not actually crashed.

Which folder is the sdcard in?
(It's not in mnt, that folder is empty.)

Alternatively, how do I mount it?
I did a "find ./" and came up with nothing:
Any more info if possible?

eg. if u want to change ur system, data & cache partition to ext2, ext4 & ext2 respectively..that will b like this..
Code:
stl6 ext2
stl7 ext4
stl8 ext2
now save that textfile renaming "fs.convert" .. notice it shld nt b "fs.convert.txt" ..

Hi,
I'm having a problem with my Galaxy S4 Duos I9502, somehow I can't save any file/picture from internet to Download folder, only original app like Browser is able to save file !!!
Ex : Whenever I try to save an image in Firefox/Chrome, it shows an error as below :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
What I have tried so far :
- Root the phone and use Root Explorer to check the permission of "Download" Folder, it is --rw--rw--r-, tried to change the "other" to RW but failed.
- Wipe cache/davik code - not solve
- Factory reset/ Wipe data - not solve
- Clean everything and re-flash the stock rom still not succeed ((
Really appreciated If you have any idea on how to solve this problem.

So I´ve had this problem since I installed Lineage 2 years ago. After some months I always end up with the storage full and removing things does not free nearly any space.
The first thing I notice was a couple .thumbnail files of around 2GB that when removed would not free up space. I solved that but there´s still a problem somewhere.
I tried with adb and I found out that the /sbin folder is 22GB and sdcard is just 9.3GB but the biggest file in sbin is only 144k. The comands I used to get the size where du -ks -a /* in the root folder, then du -ks -a ./* in sbin and agan in sbin ls -all but i can´t find the 22G file/folder, any sugestions on how to solve this? I tried removing sbin but it didn´t work. I leave a couple images here. The tablet is a Samsung Galaxy Tab a6 Wifi, model t580 with lineage 16.0.
Root (sdcard reports 0 cause its a link to a folder in /storage so the true size is similar to storage):
