[ROOT/XPOSED] The fix for your scrolling woes!

I have finally discovered the fix to the slow scrolling issues.
I have never seen a flagship with such a poor scroll response that makes scrolling through long lists/webpages unbearable.
It requires Xposed (this should be the first thing you install after rooting anyways) and this module called XuiMod.
This module allows you to adjust the scrolling response of your phone through a few variables. The variable we're interested in is "Scroll Friction". It should be ideally set to around 50 units to improve scroll response. Make sure to reboot so that the change is applied system-wide.
I have not played around with the other settings, but perhaps "Max Fling Velocity" is another variable we could look into to improve the scroll response.
This does not help in making KnockON/Knock Code more accurate or responsive. It boggles me that LG managed to muck this up when the feature should have matured after their experience with past flagships.

I wouldn't say that it's the same, but rather a subset of the touch issue. I still get issues like my lists jumping to the top for no apparent reason while normally scrolling (e.g Instagram) and also taps on items I do not wish to open.
The touchscreen and locked bootloader are the only things holding this phone back. Users shouldn't need to look for aftermarket solutions to solve their problems with the phone.

I have installed the module, setup the scrolling friction to 40, and I really like how it moves. Thanks for the insight.

Happy to know! Scrolling feels as good as my Nexus 5 now!

Interesting that a lot of people with N5 went to G4, I am also one of them. The G4 is not quite as smooth as N5,but it is close now, and the extra's that he has more than compensate for a bit less smoothness.

It would have already been 1 year and around 6 months if you bought the N5 at launch like me. The Nexus 6 wasn't a true Nexus phone, and I couldn't wait for the 6P as the N5 was showing its age. Figured that the G4 was the best choice at the time, considering that it has MicroSD expansion and the camera isn't a potato. However, the touchscreen issues are just inexcusable. It's impossible that almost all review sites missed out this major flaw, that the touch response is horrible even until now. No one can say that the Knock Code works as good as it does on the G3, which is just crazy considering that the G4 should have it work even better since it's LG's latest flagship.

I do not have any touch issues, or at least I have not noticed them, except for unlocking the knock code, that works 50%.

That's pretty unacceptable though. It should work 100 %.

I agree with you 100%, but, in my view, the root of the problem is not touch control (digitizer or whatever hardware) but the implementation of knock code.

This thread has lots of flashable zips for fonts. I'm using Lato UI B OPO.

Yeah, seems like everything is related to touch as you have to touch before you can scroll... Is there a fix for the touch issue?

I did a few weeks ago except I don't know if it's running or not as it always opens after booting up on it's own and I click on both start options, they both won't start. The last version which was updated last week won't even run, I open and it flashes and closes immediately.

I'm on genysis 3.4 boot fine after install module but after applied setting and reboot it's stuck on boot animation. After remove module boot fine.
No update for this mod since 2014...

And the good news is:
Camera is significantly improved. The blurriness, washed out pics are gone and the result is now very much on par with the excellent LG G4 camera
In car BT streaming is fully working, even all tags are coming through
Notification area is improved, notifications are no longer numbers only, you can now choose icons
The whole phone feels snappier, like developer logging is switched off
This is for sure a major step forward, creating an even better phone. Samsung, are you watching?

Would be great if they improved the EIS for videos and maybe added something like auto HDR+; essentially taking some cues from the Pixel. They need to use the gyroscope like Google does.
Would also like to see an sRGB display profile for accurate colors.
General tweaks to display latency and audio output especially the headphone jack (according to reviews) would also be nice.
Of course if they would release some kernel sources and device trees etc for developers that would be amazing too but that would probably be wishful thinking
But I am glad to see that they tweaked the camera. It definitely needed it. However they still have some work to do.

Not for me, I don't like the over-saturated screaming colors of HDR, only in particular shots. Afaic Huawei made time right choice leaving it optional!

True but it does seem to take some good shots though.
But they definitely need to take a look at the EIS. It's done quite poorly from what I can tell especially in video.

Hall sensor

Hi,
The phone screen out of the box with the Nillkin front cover turns on and off when open or close the front cover.
After a few days my phone receives the october security update and the feature of turning the screen on and off is gone (it does not work anymore) when open/close the front cover.
Has anyone this problem? How can I solve it?

Me too. In hardware test it is working but not with the nillkin cover. I didn't notice if it was working before october update becouse i was using back cover only.

I'm on November update and just received this "Dual Windows Flip Case" which also does not work.
With the FM radio, that's now 2 pieces of hardware that have no software support.

Maybe its worth sending a bug report by the feedback app.
If we all do , they might fix it in a later update.
Nillkin cover did work when i got the phone.
Then i think the september or october update broke the function.

Another thing that is connected wit the proximity sensor (and is very frustrating for me) is that when I answer the call and put the phone on the ear the screen turns off but if I move a little the phone (during the call ) the screen turns on and then with my ear I put the call on waiting or turn off the microphone.
I have other phones in the past but I never had this problem.

Yes, it was frustrating.... everything was ok during updating, but no sense after restart...
The number of sensors is not too high, please test it all with the new patches

My sensor works in the service menu, but not when the screen is off. November update is installed. August worked fine...

I had the same issue with Nilkin flip case and I thought I was going crazy as I was sure it worked before October update. Now it's working again with November update.

I applied for beta program and they selected. As I was a beta tester since Redmi Note 4G. When I got the device there were two updates I installed. October patch and November patch, I never got december patch and directly this.

Camera ui and features are all same except 2x zoom quality and portrait quality has drastic change. It is far better now.

Huge difference in UI, Performance, Animations. Some basic features like battery percentage and night light are there. Camera quality improved, New Dialer but almost looks same. Mi Sound Enhancer is present now.

Are Camera 2 API and EIS enabled?
Is camcorder still laggy when there isn't much light?

What about hissing sound with headphones?

I have Indian variant, and I never had that hissing problem. I had echoing in call using headphones, but it is solved now.

How's your SOT on the Moto G6 Plus?

I recently bought and returned(because of a small hardware defect) a Moto G6.
Now that I had time to think better about what phone I want, I'm thinking a Moto G6 Plus or Redmi Note 5 might be better for me.
Only thing I need to know to decide is how much battery life I can expect to get from the Moto G6 Plus.
So, how does it do? Can I expect to get 6 or 7 hours SOT while on 4g? Maybe 5?

Not sure exactly but if can roughly work out from this , but it's very good battery life I don't charge again till bed time and on it all day [emoji16]

I hope so because the mobile is encrypted and when you decrypt it, It is much more fluid, and at the moment there is no root or Kernel, much less rooms ...

It will come it's only been out couple weeks don't forget , but seeing as it's not available in us development might be some what slower as G6 is totally different hardware and 32bit only, we might even not get a G6+ forum maybe a bit of the green eyed monster

I get about 3,5 hrs SOT in the 90-20% charge range - mostly phone, text, whatsapp, telegram, skype & websurfing.
Gets me through the day, but I think having a powerbank available ain't the worst idea...
Using it since last friday evening with full NFC cloning from my S7, will check again after a fresh setup some time.
