[Q][Bootanimation] BIOS boot animation

Dear all,
I have a strange issue with my redrawn BIOS boot animation for our devices – here is case:
After moving bootanimation.zip to /data/local I have nothing. Absolutely black screen at booting process.
Could someone help me to fix it, please?

Check permissions on the bootanimation.zip.
placing the file in /data/local should work.
I don't see the redraw issue you are talking about. Can you be more specific?

Sorry for my poor English - the problem is that after adding this archive to/data/local, nothing is happens.
After Acer splash screen I saw the black screen for 20 seconds and after that Android just starting.
Can anyone test that bootscreen on own device?

Make sure permissions on the bootanimation.zip is set to read/write for all.
When I get the black screen boot, that is usually the reason.

The problem is that you have zipped the files using compression, android can't read boot animation from compressed files. You have to select the method as "Store" in order to get it working.
Here's a DOS boot I made few days ago, it might be useful.

Hm, now it is working. Maybe you know any HOWTOs, where I will find information about best ways to make custom bootscreens?

Registry edit to change logo to "Samsung"
Code:

I did change path and now got both of them, Samsung one and custom because file : mologPEN_Common.bmp is not even displayed. Must be in other location.

Yeah, it'll be different depending on where the phone comes from. Just check your System32 directory first for logo images, then set the one you want. Or upload your own to the phone and use that path...

I looked on all mologo bmp files and none of them looks like the one while booting. So now I got WP, Samsung and the custom one on the end. Is wasting time I believe

in my case i do not want to see any boot logo ...i do not know if you can switch it completely off ...:fingers-crossed:
so first we want to know : WERE are the default logo's stored in the filesystem ???
what is the location of the default logos ?

the first boot logo is Most likely stored in the bootloader it self ( so no way too Change that one)

Once you have complete file system access, just place one in Windows\System32 and name it "mologo_custom.bmp" for easier reference and save it as a 24bit BMP file. I have the original bootscreen and 2 custom ones for you to choose from, attached below:

Well, I have gone through a series of trial and error, and have successfully gotten my own created boot animation to work. However, I havent figured out the max resolution I can use (my animation looks to small from the one I originally created. Using xdAuto, the current boot animation resolution is at 480x292. Anything bigger than that, causes a black screen during the boot process (or at least this is what I've led myself to believe, if anyone finds anything different please update let us know.) Although I was under the assumption that I could use 1024x600 but my animation won't work if I use this big of a resolution.
It goes basically like this:
1. on your computer - Create a new folder and rename it to bootanimation
2. Create a folder inside bootanimation called part0 (you can add more parts if you wish increasing by increments of 1. part1, part2, part3, etc.)
3. in the part0 folder, make sure all images are in the same format. I used .png format, and make sure the pictures are in order, eg. 00000.png, 00001.png, 00002.png, etc. (You are essentially making a slideshow that plays at a max of 30 frames per second)
4. Install "boot animation creator." You can google for this or search for it here on XDA. (I cant post urls yet.)
5. open boot animation creator, follow the prompts to make your boot file, don't forget to add a loop when that section comes up for making your bootanimation.zip file.
6. place your bootanimation.zip file in your android HU (I'm using a carpad III).
7. (root required) go to the root of your Android HU/carpad. Go to this path /system/media
8. make a backup copy of the current bootanimation.zip file and place it in a safe place.
9. copy and paste your created bootanimation.zip file in /system/media
10. reboot, if done correctly you should see your new bootanimation.

Update: So my main problem, was that root browser was giving me a "operation failed" error. Its strange because sometimes it would let me write to the /system/media
folder. I was able to get a 819x432 bootanimation.zip to write. But now for some reason I can't get anything else to write to it... very strange. I am pretty sure that the max resolution for bootanimation.zip for Carpad II / III is 1024x600, getting it to write when I want it to is the issue I am having now.

Okay, well I found out why I was getting the write errors. Well, at least this worked for me.
I went into SuperSU, settings, and unchecked Mount namespace sepraration.
This allowed me to write my bootanimation.zip file to the /system/media/ folder.
I was also able to use my original 1024x600 bootanimation.

Hello, quick question, where do I find boot logo for Dacia?
I've tried googling but cannot get right one, and no idea what file format to try make one....

PX6 [STM32] Android Head Unit Custom Boot Logo (Splash image)

Hi guys I just bought a Chinese Threecar PX6 4+32 HU
OS: KC1E0105-P0G-1.1.4.3.1_Blink 161_20200104_N3 - Treecar - NO DSP
MCU: STM32 - 20191028
Was wondering if anyone knows how to flash custom boot image (not bootanimation)
Bootanimation (the one after the splash image) was easily flashed using adb push .zip file into /system/media
but not for the initial boot logo (aka splash image)
The HU comes with a stock system app CarLogoSelect where there is a selection of splash image logos to choose from, but there isnt a logo for my car make.
I couldn't locate these compilations of logos using file manager
However I did find a file named logo under /dev/block/by-name/logo and another exact same logo file under /dev/block/properties/(folder with some code- sorry i forgot)/by-name/logo
these logo files do not have extensions, but i could copy them and rename them into .bin or .mp4 (or possibily any video file extensions) and play them using VLC on my PC.
the files would be played as a video of a single image, the image that I chose from the aforementioned CarSelectLogo.
So i figured the CarSelectLogo app must be flashing a new logo file into /dev/block/by-name everytime i pick a new logo using the app.
I am thinking if:
1) i could copy my preferred logo to the compilation of logos and hope that CarSelectLogo app can detect it, so that I can flash it using the app.
2) I could manually flash my preferred logo into /dev/block/by-name/
(but then again i do not know the format of the original logo file in /dev/block/by-name)
Thanks in advance for any help/tips/advice! Also I realised many Chinese Android HU uses this system - having an app to select logos from OR having an option to select boot logo at Factory Settings. So even if you are not using a PX6 STM32, your input might be helpful!! Thanks!

I also bought a Chinese unit recently with the same feature, all I had to do was to add an image with res 1024x600 to an USB flash drive and connect it, after about a minute the app loaded the image in the usb drive.

Tried that and it didn't work. i even made sure the file was in .bmp format and 32 bit depth (like the stock ones)
Any other specific steps you took after pluggin in the usb? Maybe my HU doesn't support flashing via usb hmm
