Registry edit to change logo to "Samsung"
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\Shell\BootScreens]
"WPBootScreenOverride"= "\Windows\System32\mologo_OPEN_Common.bmp" (String)

I did change path and now got both of them, Samsung one and custom because file : mologPEN_Common.bmp is not even displayed. Must be in other location.
Code:
C:\Data\Users\Public\Bootlogo\logo.bmp

Yeah, it'll be different depending on where the phone comes from. Just check your System32 directory first for logo images, then set the one you want. Or upload your own to the phone and use that path...

I looked on all mologo bmp files and none of them looks like the one while booting. So now I got WP, Samsung and the custom one on the end. Is wasting time I believe

the first boot logo is Most likely stored in the bootloader it self ( so no way too Change that one)

Once you have complete file system access, just place one in Windows\System32 and name it "mologo_custom.bmp" for easier reference and save it as a 24bit BMP file. I have the original bootscreen and 2 custom ones for you to choose from, attached below:

Hi to all,
I don't know if thisever been post it or not! but I want to start a new post that veiw all the nice image of boot splash (not the welcome screen, but the first 2 images when you boot your phone in RUU_signed.nbh format)
I have custom ROM and I love it but I don't like the images (phone carrier) when I boot my phone and I want to change it if I can
I can't help myself
Obviously I have to post my own work first!!!
Cheers
andrew-in-woking
p.s. Use the initial boot splash screen (the one you have to flash to the phone) on Kaiser (Tytn II) only!

From a ROM I made a while back, still use it!

You have to name it welcomehead.96.jpg and it must have the size of your screen to fill it. And yes it goes in windows. There is also a small mort script named random splash screen which launches splashscreens from a defined folder randomly on every start up... very nice

That's the actual ROM file, not the splash image.

I messed something up with the .GIF file that gets loaded on startup and the .PNG file after that. Guess what... I didn't make an back-up so I have an really annoying logo in there now and I want to get rid of it.
Could anyone grab them from their phone.. and upload them please.. (the HTC logo and the Windows mobile logo)
Thanks very much It would save me alot of time since I don't wanna do an hardreset
well if you give me the name of the files and theyre location, i can extract them for you
Should be welcome192.png and animated.gif or VF_XXX.GIF

How to change the 2nd booting picture

I have changed a TW rom. the 1st picture had been changed.but the 2nd booting picture has not been changed. How to do that?
If the HD2 is similar to hd then all you have to do is get yourself a PPC file explorer(I use Resco Explorer) a .png image of the correct size (800x480) and call it "welcomehead.192.png",now copy paste this image into your windows folder and say yes when the explorer asks you if you are sureyou want to replace.
thank you for your reply.but the picture I sad is the one displayed with Rom ver.#.when booting . maybe the pic cannot be changed by flashIng the Rom.
It's a difficult process to change that pic and it's not recommended because you can brick your device doing that thing.

is that means the pic depends on the hardware? There is a China Mobile logo on this pic. So ugly!

[Q] How to change the Bootscreen/Motorola Logo on startup?

I know that the Bootscreen is stored on /dev/block/mmcblk1p10
I also made an cool Bootscreen inspired by the actual Motorola Bootscreens but I dont know the exact steps to get it on the phone
On the cm7 zip there was a custom '' logo.img '' I think that was the bootscreen(?)
For the Milestone1 I found a tutourial but this method doens't seem to work on the Milestone2
( http://modmymobile.com/forums/555-m...s/559148-tool-milestone-custom-boot-logo.html )
And please give me some feedback for my bootscreen

Well this is an interesting topic. While having a look at it i found out that for everyone who wishes to change the animated bootlogo from the cyanogen logo to a different one the file is called bootanimation.zip and its located at /system/media/bootanimation.zip
Some awesome bootanimations can be found at droidboots under downloads/boot-animations/
Edit:
Okay after a little bit more investigation about your case it seems i found the way to edit the bootlogo gonna try it first and then tell if it works.
So this is how i did it.
First i downloaded MilestoneBootLogo.zip from this Post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16836960&postcount=1
I used one of the Logos given in that post but you can use any logo with the size of 480x182 px.
If you have a custom image it has to be in 24 bit BMP format. Open it with the MilestoneBootLogo Program and save it as bin File.
Now put the bin file on you sdcard.
After that install Splash Tools and AndExplorer via the Play Store.
Open Splash Tools and browse for the Bootlogo on your sdcard. Press ok then Apply et voila your ready to Reboot and the Bootlogo should be replaced.
Hey, I meant the Motorola Bootsplashscreen not the Bootanimation

you can use this test zip I made to flash the bootanimation(unzip it, place the bootanimation inside system/media/ and then rezip)
you can use bootanimation factory to add the loops to the bootanimation, the rest is up to you

Thanks a lot, any idea how to wrote the .txt file? Like what I'd need I understand the part 0,1,etc. And the resolution I just don't know what else or exactly how to write. Or would it be easier to use the factory?

I I know that part 0 is the folder, 1 is usually the loops for the folder and the other number I don't remember; the resolution of the pictures is at the top, and next to it is usually the fps but I prefer to use the factory because this way it never fails

Thanks again, I was going to start making some test animations and see how it goes. Does the factory break an.gif file down into individual .PNG?
