Hi, so I tried to debrand my S10+ and everything went pretty well, I downloaded the ROM for my country (XEO) and flashed it with odin. Anyway, after reboot I noticed something weird - language was different. It was French and in the settings the region was XEF/XEF,XEF/PRT. After inserting SIM cards it changed to XEF/XEO,XEO/PRT. I tried to flash the ROM again but no avail.
Nevermind, I managed to fix this.
What was wrong and how did you fix it?

I think that the problem was the SIM card blocade. I did flash the ROM without "Auto Reboot" ticked in options in odin and after flashing I went into recovery, shut down the phone, inserted unblocked SIM cards and booted the phone. After doing this I checked the phone settings and it was XEO/XEO,XEO/PRT, so correctly this time.

Hello
My SGS is originally from Greece (simfree)
with the default rom it came with, after factory reset the language/locale was set to Greece.
I flashed to rom JM2 from here
http://samsung-firmware.webs.com/samsungi9000.htm
and updated all component (PDA/PHONE/CSC) and also repartitioned the phone.
and still, after every factory reset the locale/language is set to Greece.
of course I can change it manually, but it's a little bit irritating
Can I change it so English will be selected after every flash/factory reset?
why does it select Greece even after I flashed other roms?
TIA
Maybe its your sim card?
No, the sim card is Israeli
what else can it be?
After flashing another rom I noticed that after the flash process
the system installing update.zip although I don't have any file on the internal or external SDCARD...
I tried to search for it with root explorer but without results
where can it be and how do I "solve" this?
TIA
I found something
no matter what rom I flash, I always get this file in /system/csc/cos/csc
it's coming from sort of update I can't find on my phone
this is your productcode ...
ever since i switched to an asop rom my lte and 3g signal has dropped dramatically. I have rogers, played with mulitple apn settings etc. any help boys ? is there fix i can flash?

Hi,
The first thing would be to check your CSC and modem firmware. Use Phone INFO ★Samsung★ app to get all major info about the phone. It is important to know when you are going to flash another stock firmware.
I had issues last week with data and it was caused by bad CSC/modem. Flashed everything back to stock with official firmwares from SamMobile and it fixed my issues. After that, I was able to flash my custom ROM and everything is smooth sailing since then.
Let me know if you require more help.

Thanks for help bro. I took a screen shot of my info. I'm not sure why it shows bmc when I downloaded the rwc files. And is the product code correct?, also I never seen the code for csc modem before. Is it not suppose to match baseband, pda, bootloader
Everything is good, you're almost there.
You have the right firmware but now you need to fix your CSC. The stock ROM is multi CSC so Rogers (RWC) is already installed but it chooses Bell (BMC) by default. What you can try :
- Power off your phone
- Remove SIM card and power on (your phone will start and say : no sim card)
- Power off and wait a moment
- Insert your Rogers SIM card and power on your phone in Recovery Mode (Volume Up, Home and Power on boot). If you have:
#manual mode#
--appling multi-csc...
applied the csc code : RWC
successfully applied multi-csc
That means that your CSC has been changed to Rogers. Problem should be fixed.
If not, the app you downloaded contains a CSC Changer but it will wipe your data. Make sure to have backups beforehand.
Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks for all the help man, did the sim thing and it just loaded me into twrp and i didnt see an option so I changed it via the app. Same thing still got the 4G and bell bloat. But csc now says bmc/rwc
Ok. Try this now :
You must dial the following key sequence to bring up a regional carrier menu: *#272*[IMEI]# (that is *#272* (your IMEI number) #) - You'll find your IMEI in the Phone Info app.
When the menu comes up, select the regional code for Rogers RWC. The phone will now go through a reset/boot sequence and come this time, it should read the APN settings from your SIM card and viola, you now have LTE. If you do not see LTE but 3G, you will need to ensure your APN settings are correct and then go into the Network Mode and ensure you have LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto mode) selected.
Let me know how it goes.

I actually did the last sstep you mentioned below this morning (found the steps online ) and it still didn't work lol, so technically when i did it in the app it was my second time restarting the phone. Not sure what's going wrong here. Seems like bmc still lingers around. Haha don't give up on me

When you flashed back to stock ROM, did you do a full wipe before?
It is really important that you do a full wipe so that it doesn't leave any traces of your old installs.
Try to flash via Odin (while your phone is on Download Mode). Check the AP and the CSC box and input the stock file from SamMobile.
Let me know if it fixes it.
After trying to install few custom ROMS namely DR. Ketans and SimplRom I experience SIM removed error problem.
The flashing goes fine with full factory reset (only internal SD is not wiped), I enter the PIN when I'm asked for it. The SIM is unlock but when the phone registers on the network it gives SIM removed error and forces a reboot.
I also upgraded the bootloader and the modem to the latest versions BL_N910FXXU1BOD2 and CP_N910FXXU1BOC4 but the problem remains the same.
When I restore back to the original ROM (backed up by TWRP) everything works fine. If dirty flash custom ROM over it again there are no problems with the SIM card.
The only conclusion is that T-Mobile has some additional software installed.
The phone is SM-N910F bought from T-Mobile. It has T-Mobile branding on boot and shutdown.
Does anyone now anything about this ?
To update it with my own research.
Apparently the SIM card is lock to Macedonia region. MBM CSC. When installing custom ROM the CSC gets changed and the phone rejects the SIM.
In an effort to resolve this I've flashed DE DBT CSC ROM and the phone won't accept my SIM card.
Currently I'm downloading the original T-Mobile MKD firmware and I hope by restoring it that I will be able to use the phone again.
Also since I paid for the phone in full I intend to contact T-Mobile tomorrow and ask them to unlock my phone.
Will write what comes out of this. Don't want someone else to lose their nerves as I did today
Definitely the issue was in wrong CSC. I've downloaded the original firmware and everything worked again.
But I couldn't stay put and wanted to flash a custom ROM so I went with http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/rom-bob4-devbase-multi-csc-safe-bloat-t3033881.
It's a great base ROM stripped of Knox and de-bloated. Most importantly it keeps your current CSC intact.
The procedure was:
Flash original firmware with Odin,
Root with CF-Auto root
Flash TWRP recovery with Odin
Reset data so that it completely goes stock because flashing the original firmware doesn't reset data
At this point I made full nandroid backup
Flash ALEXAND ROM
Uninstall additional bloatware
So far it's working fine.
I hope that this will help someone.
If i will nand erase all on my Galaxy S8(SM-G950F), will it delete the download mode?
If i'll do that, can i still just after that install the stock firmware?
Will it delete things that even stock firmware cannot fix?
BTW the phone is OEM Unlocked.
I did use Nand erase all on my s8 and it did not delete the download mode. What problem do you have?

Network is not available
No signal on my phone, did factory reset, twrp advanced wipe everything, reinstalling the stock firmware from smart switch, changed csc and changed back, didnt work.
Check tutorials to fix, from a tutorial:"In the dialer, type- *#197328640# or *#*#197328640#*#*", cant even type that, it will still show me Network is not available.
My IEMI is good, when i type *06# it is working.
Tried my sim card on another phone, it works, on my phone it should show signal even without sim.
Do you know how to fix this?

How does Nand erease work? So odin first erases the nand area, then writes firmware? After that what would happen to IMEI #, won't it erase efs folder?
The issue I have is with Galaxy S8 Active. I bought it a second hand and it was attached to Sprint. That person flashed it and possibly changed CSC to XAA in the phone, but flashing doesn't affect it at all. I have tried flashing T-Mobile or Sprint firmware, but the about phone page still shows XAA/XAA/SPR. There is no unlocked version firmware for this phone and it seems that only 3 carriers had this device (ATT, TMB and SPR) Whe I flash firmware, the progress goes fine and it passes, but all it does is change the build # of the OS.
So I wanted to do nand erase to remove all changes that original owner did, but don't want to destroy the phone.

Replying to a year old thread :|
I've nand erased before a long time ago, it didn't destroyed my phone but I do not remember if it will change the CSC to the firmwares one(Assuming that you use a firmware with the CSC you want).

Actually I do want to become TMB and I did flash the correct firmware for T-Mobile. I think original owner used something such as "Eng boot or factory binary" to go into service menu and change CSC to XAA. There is another interesting thing. When I go to about page, under Service Provider SW it shows G950U, but the rest of the phone is G892U. < I can't get rid of this!
1) Is there a way for me to maybe get Factory binary file which will allow me to change CSC? I did fine combination file, but it was for v2 bootloader, mine is v3 at the moment.
OR
2) Nand erase will do something good and erase the flash memory, unless nand option doesn't erase a specific memory location in the phone responsible for CSC.
Also, how can flashing a phone not do much in terms of really changing something in the firmware? I have not seent this before. I even tried flashing USERDATA file, thinking I would get T-Mobile's bloatware, but it didn't, not even TMB boot logo.
The problem got fixed a year ago.
The problem was the hardware and not the software
I've replaced the corrupt phone.
how you changed csc as u explained? usually flashing a diferent firmware with another csc will completly wipe the phone a d restore efs info, be sure ur flashing a different csc not included in the original csc pack (oxm and btu r the same csc for example).

maybe thats the problem, ILO and CEL r both the same CSC (OXM), if you dont flash other CSC it will not completly wipe the efs carpet, try downloading BVO from sammobile and flash it.
before flashing twrp or anyyhing first try your signal with completly stock BVO.
is wifi working ok?
had problems with my first s8 regarding gsm/wifi signal, got it exchanged to get it to work(it was stock untouched)

After a minute without doing anything suddenly, my signal is back but it crashes every time i use it like to answer a call, i guess my antenna is defect, i will return my phone for a replacement.
Hi, have you been able to solve the problem? It happens exactly the same
Yes i have a similar problem, apps crash, phone lags all the time. I use 2 bluetooth devices connected all the time, location is always open, nfc is disabled, i use nova launcher prime. Phone is not rooted. Call drops when there is no reason. Cellular signals complete goes away even though it was at full service a moment ago, then after 10-15 seconds, it comes back again. This phone is making me really sick. I was using galaxy s5 before this and it had a better performance than this one. I have galaxy s8 g950f by the way.
