hey, glad you wanna help!
my dad has a galaxy S8 SM-G950F, but in the device info it says it is a SM-G950FD.
The serial number is the right one, like on the back from the phone.
It shows me two imei numbers (just the last number is different in the imei numbers), so like it is a dual phone (G950FD).
We are from germany, he bought it here in germany and he was in turkey, i don`t know what they did there, but they changed the software and how it seems the imei numbers.. plus there was some extra apps (so they messed up with the phone...)
My thought was, okay give it a clear wipe with odin and use stock firmware for germany (G950FXXS8DTC6)
that worked, but it still shows the deivce info SM-G950FD, in Download Mode it says it is a SM-G950F
So i don`t really care about the imeis or if the device info says s8 dual or not.
The Problem is, the network is not working, i tried different sim cards, reset, wipe etc.
it says not registred in network
Do you have any thoughts how to solve this problem?
I know it is illegal to change the imei, but i would like to know if this would be the solution? I dont ask here how to do it
thank you for reading!

After trying to update my rom to PDAMobiz_Dopod_P800W_AKU301_v1.1.2_PowerMap
My HTC p3300 froze.
I guess its my own fault not using a compatible rom. But its not so clear what rom fits what.
Anyway
As far a i have figured i need a original swedish rom to put my HTC p3300 back to life.
I have tired with the WWE rom from the wiki but it wont work.
PLEASE help me here
//Clanman
I think you should have CID unlocked your device first from www.imei-check.co.uk, before trying another rom, may be they can help you out if you contact them.
So what u are saying is that I cant fix this myself. Even if I got the right rom file?
Could u please explain exactly what cid unlocking is and why are my HTC locked.
I mean its a flashable device. Why must I pay someone to unlockit before I can update it.
If HTC delivers a new rom update do i still have to cid unlock it?
//Clanman
please search the forum and you will see each rom are locked to country-language-network settings, if you get swedish rom then it should work but I don't think you will find other than original english HTC rom
look here
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Artemis
I think you can find a swedish rom here if you have your imei number
http://www.smartmobile.se/item.aspx?id=795
Ok thanks.
But i guess the only way to find out your imei number is to dial *#06#
As my phone is stuck at boot I cant get to the number.
At least Im learning how not to do things.
I guss i have to talk to the guys at www.imei-check.co.uk
Thanks u guys for helping me out

Yes, you can. It is also printed on the label underneath the battery, and it may also be available on the cartboard box the phone was shipped in, if you still have it.
Ok i will check it when I come home.
Thanks.
You made me see a light in the darkness

I just want to Say thank you guys.
It worked perfectly. I now have my phone back in working conditions.
I might still send it to the iemi guys to have it unlocked
Best regards

You don't have to send it physically, but they will send you a file, based on your unique IMEI number. That file contains some sort of code which unlocks your device.
Yeah u are right. I realized it myself when I went to their homepage

I had recently flashed my rom to wm6.5 without thinking much at all.
I then find out that my imei is now different from what is printed on hte phone (under the battery)
As I dont really like the WM6.5 rom, I used the rom from this thread to go back to wm6.1, everything looks the same as i 1st got the phone. BUT the imei shown in "Device ID" and "About" remains different from the original imei on the phone. I also checked it by *#06#.
So where did I get this imei no from? Did i get it from the wm6.5 roms?
I search and yet to find a tool to edit the imei yet. any advice from anyone pls?
Hello Frank, have a custom Rom wm 6.5 installed aswell and indeed my IMEI also changed. Did not pay attention to it sofar, so thanks for pointing this out.....
Think that a different IMEI is not so much an issue unless you have to bring it to HTC for repair.....therefor always the recommendation to back-up your original Rom.....with original IMEI
Change of the IMEI might be the problem. And the big one. As I know, changing of IMEI is illegal in almost all countries and might be prosecuted. Also your mobile phone operator can put it on blacklist and you will not be able to connect to network. More here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=276851
Anyway, there are some tools available, but I can't point you directly. Try to google them.
frankbeer, Frank Caarls: Which ROM do you use? I can take a closer look at it. And please send me that new changed IMEI via PM.
The last 2 digits of the IMEI can change, they are the Software Version Number (SVN).
Only the 1st 15 matter.
Dave
Hello Dave, is correct....last 2 digits changed......my IMEI under battery only shows first 15 numbers.....
Frank Caarls: Then you are making false alarm. Next time please study, what is IMEI and from how much number it is composed. And as I told you changing of IMEI is a problem and that is why I posted that link, so please make fun from somebody else. Btw. you cannot backup IMEI in your ROM.
Okay, so hear me out guys. I have a I9505 (duh) running the foxhoundrom, but when I tried to update from 2.0 - 3.0 I got a bootloop, but the problem is. When I got out of the bootloop, I didn't have any mobile connections.. (screenshot one) Me being such a dork as I am, thought I could fix it on my own, in the settings for changing Network Operators. It takes ages to load them upm and if I connect to one of them, I get and can use the connectivity for a while. Until I lock my phone and unlock it again actually. I heard something about IMEI? No idea what that is, but my IMEI code found via *#06#
But I have a original sim card, it's right and stuff, I have no idea what happend...
I really need help fixing this..

Firstly, Remove your IMEI number from your post. It's confidential information and someone can use it illegally if they wanted to.
Secondly, To fix your issue of connection the new 4.3 based ROMs need the new MJ5 Modem to work properly.
Flash the MJ5 modem and your problems will be gone

First of all you need to see if the baseband is normal and need to see if the IMEI is normal if it is 0049 that is more trouble
If everything is normal, you can try to use Odin to restore or SPT-BOX software tools to repair my English is not very good sorry

You lost IMEI. Try to install stock rom with odin (I solved the problem in this way)
I have new motherboard, no officially motherboard!
I have the same big problem , I installed a stock rom 5.0 not modified, I did a factory reset. My imei is
358588058911910/01
the imei wrote behind the battery is
358588/05/891191/0
What should I do to return to a normal use, I can't give a phone call. The rom is
Android 5.0 N9005XXUGPOF3
I have change The BB original to N9005XXUGBOA1
BUt allways "not registered to the network !!!
I'm lost !! Thanks to give a solution if you have it.

Sorry, I don't. If you find the solution , please make me know.
Hi I followed lots of guides for the new Oreo update as it wasn't downloading automatically.
Got latest KDZ from here:
https://lg-firmwares.com/lg-vs995-firmwares/firmwares/
Flashed it with LGUP - now I have no phone radio - though wifi and bluetooth are working.
Any idea how I can fix this ?
Did I use the right version of LG UP ? I have tried downgrading KDZs but these also dont have working radios ?
Any idea how I can fix this ?
Thanks,
Rob
Could this be because my phone is VS995S
- when I check IMEI.
Rom I have installed is VS995
I have tried to install others with LGUP - but downgrades dont seem to work.
Ideas ? Anyone have an S qho can share a ROM ?
Anyone?
I don't think the S means anything special regarding firmware. I believe that just means the phone is the silver Verizon version.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong...

It says can't find your current country.
What does this mean ?
If I go into settings the IMEI is correct.
I suspect problem might be as I am in the UK and this phone was obtained from an e-bay seller in Asia I think they flashed something strange which is why it wouldnt update to oreo by itself and why the standard kdz broke it.
Still would like to fix it so it works as a phone again.

They probably modified the partitions a bit. My guess is they used a modem from another carrier to get it working.
My advise is for you to downgrade back to nougat and see if the problem persists.
Using a carrier branded usa phone outside of its network brings it's own problems if your carrier doesnt support the proper bands needed.

I tried that, and the problem does persist.
Any ideas on how to fix ?
