Superb news seeing this forum pop up for the 8 and 8 pro.
Looking to get this asap, does anybody know what carriers will be offering this device on contract in the UK?!
EE actually did let it slip that they'd be getting the 8pro when I was on the phone asking where my S20 ultra order was but id like to confirm that if possible
Cheers
Update:
According to other forums and reviewers the following will be stocking the oneplus 8 on contract in the UK.
EE
Three
Nothing on their sites yet, three has no telephone customer service and EE have been and remain clueless, I'm waiting on the OnePlus rep within EE to get back to me, should be next few days.
Rumored to be £44pm on three, no word on EE but I imagine it'll be ridiculous.
Hello Mate? I've Ordered a Green 256GB for me and Black 128GB for the missus.
Should get Monday/Tuesday. Only thing I'm not sure about ordered direct from Oneplus. I'm hoping Wifi Calling and Volte will work

Did you get it from three? I was a click away from getting the 256 only
£2 difference on three, which makes sense. 30GB data, do you know if they have high speed 4G or the limited to 100Mb one?

No mate I ordered direct from Oneplus. Few hours after launch was the only phone I would be interested in till later in the year. But will be using X2 4G EE sims in mine and a 4G EE sim in my wife's. So I hope it all works fine. But EE dont seem to have a clue going from there forums. Then thought I would check out what 3 were offering.
I'm not sure about what 3 offer. But I would say give them a go if having a new mobile number etc isnt a problem if it doesnt work return it.
The only thing grating on me is like usual now US customers getting preference over the rest of us. Getting free wireless a headphones and the wireless cradle

Yea I've been with EE since the merger, was with orange before, think about 20 years.
Don't really want to touch 3 but can't afford £900 at the moment
Apparently three have the largest 5G network, I've heard over the years that they're a good network until you need to actually speak to someone when you have a problem.

I think that depends on how you define 'largest' - they do have the largest amount of 5G frequency (from the Ofcom auctions + acquiring UK Broadband Limited who already owned a chunk of frequency), but I don't know who has the largest amount of coverage currently.

you know what, i purchased a pair of the cheapest Xiami Airdots for about £20 (be careful and buy from a reputable seller as fakes about! got mine from Wonda Mobile). They sound fantastic and sound as good as my brothers £160 sony truly wireless's. Wasn't expecting much but was blown away with the clarity of vocals and fanatstic bass. Reviews are stellar abt them
so tbh, i am nt fussed abt a pair or old styled 'wired' wireless earbuds etc.
yeah i am on three, they are not as reliable as say vodafone, ee and their 5G is almst non existent unless you want to go to Southgate on the outer edge of Zone 5 of London!!!!! Reason why I stay with them is they are sooooooooo Cheap - i pay £11 a month for unlimited everything ... I am such a sl*t looooool
I pay 8 pound a month with EE for Ultd Mins Ultd Texts and 50GB of 4G data. I'm happy with that.
I've got a set of Xiaomi Airdots aswell they are decent for what they were. ??

Well it says "a few weeks"
iPhone next week, N1 2/3 weeks later? Possible.
A "few" will be more like 6 - 7 - 8... Knowing how operators think
actually - considering the guy in the Voda shop told me the nokia n900 is out in Jan for Voda - wonder how that will all pan out.
moto Milestone still has to hit an operator too - surely all the 'super' phones won't come out in jan/feb?
Most ppl don't spend in Jan after the xmas and the jan sales added up ...
---
Makes you think what will be coming out in Nov 2010 - they must be amaaazing!

Vodafone aren't really a ripoff, they're possibly the best uk network in terms of connectivity aswell. Although sometimes their deals aren't as good as other networks.
You might be happy with paying £400+ but I know some people (myself included) would be considering it but won't really be able to afford it so getting it presumably for free on a £35 a month contract would be awesome.

Does anyone know how much it would cost though? im assuming we wouldnt be able to buy the phone on its own, and definitely wouldnt be available simfree in the uk if voda is the exclusive carrier, so is it worth it just buying it from google now and then using whichever network we got?
im sure the phone would probably cost more than £400 payg anyway if it was available? im trying to decide whether to buy it now or wait till it comes here? im on vodafone so i dont mind waiting, but i dont think i would be able to get a good deal so a little help/speculation would be cool. thanks
Vodafone aren't selling the device, Google are and are providing Vodafone airtime, so expect the phone out in weeks.
Whether the price plans will be worth it is another matter.

hmm, good point. Im not sure what to do. i suppose il try and restrain myself and wait and see what happens when it comes out here. its always better to wait for the reviews and decide then if its worth it after the initial issues are ironed out. But my heros battery life is ridiculously poor so will see how long i can hold out.

They are at the moment but who knows? It might be avaliable in vodafone stores. Google didn't say that google.com/phone would be the ONLY way to get a N1.

Q. Will you be selling in Vodafone stores or via Vodafone.co.uk?
A. The Google offer is a new way to purchase a mobile phone so will only be available online through Google’s web store (www.google.com/phone).

Expansys have a pre-order page up for the Nexus - so it should definitely come sim free and unlocked when it hits europe in the next few months...
The early press I saw says 450 Euros...
Incidentally the HTC HD2 on there has just been lowered to £425 according to a banner ad that just whizzed by.
Milestone at 399 - so Expansys has countered by lowering prices...
Both cheaper than you'd find on Ebay ironically ...

Is anyone else waiting for their Galaxy note to be delivered by buymobiles.net on t-mobile. I have been waiting a long time! it says expected by 19/11/2011. I called yesterday and they said wait till next week! when will i get this device. Its killing me!
Yup, also ordered from them here! Looks like early next week before we see our devices, I'm guessing we'll have it by Tuesday/Wednesday!
Anyone know if it is unlocked? (Should be easy to unlock as far as I know.)
Yes hopefully its unlocked. Cant see why it wouldnt be. What contract did you get?
Looks like a great deal except it doesn't include HSDPA. The 'unlimited web' is 3g (384kbps) only. I think you can add HSDPA for £5 a month (?) but then T-mobile isn't any better value than any other network.
My order has been dispatched, if the email is to be believed.
I popped into town today, as Phones4U had them in stock when i rang, got there and the idiot i spoke to thought i meant the Nexus
He then preceeded to question why i want a Note. He clearly didnt know much about them, as he was telling me the Nexus is better, and screens are the same.
I then went to all the other high street stores. Carphone Warehouse had a display model, which was awesome. Guy said they had them in stock, then after trying to buy one, his manager said they are demo models, and cant be sold.
I would have gladly bought one, and just sent the buymobiles one back.
Ho hum, lets hope it arrives Monday, and that my gf actually answers the door!

with T-mo there's a "fair use" policy that says 500mb, check the fine print. I expect most carriers have something similar if they aren't stating a limit in the tarrif. It's aimed at curtailing heavy streaming use.

I am on the 3gb android limit, currently with t mobile. I used to stream loads of stuff download hd films with ease. Speed never dropped. hmm. I have read a thread which says you can call t mobile up, as them to put you on hsdpa speeds for free.

I will try that, see what happens!
Can someone who ordered theirs from buymobilephones.net explain what sim free means? I don't want a plan. Does sim free come with or without a sim?
Also, I thought the GN doesn't officially support the T-Mobile 1700 spectrum that gives you H+ speeds. I learned (mostly by reading these threads) that if you are on T-Mobile you can use it as a phone, but you'll only have Edge speeds.
Is this correct?

Ah, I think you're referring to T-Mobile in the USA? We are talking about T-Mobile in the UK which we have 3G/HSDPA access on the Note. (Though the speed is artificially limited to 384kbit/s )
384kbps?? I just did a speed test while on a moving train and got 1.8mbps on the t mobile package your talking about.
The 500 mb cap only counts for downloads and streaming. Once you go over the 500mb you can still surf etc. but they block any downloads or streaming for the rest of the month.
I ordered my note in the last week of October and was told I would receive it the first week in November! It's now the 21st and they still can't even tell us when we are going to get it! If we'd bought this phone on Orange we'd have had the phone for nearly 3 weeks by now!
I'm going to question them on their Twitter feed again later today (@buymobile_help). I'll report back what they say.
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
These dudes take the pee. I will call them up again today see when im getting the phone. Its been too long! The dude told me I will get it on saturday!
I got a reply from twitter. Two other people asked the same question at the same time i did on their feed.
They told one us it would be another 7-10 days for delivery and then me and the other person they had no ETA.
Reading between the lines.... They don't have a clue when they will have stock.
I just want to clarify what I've read elsewhere about the 384kbps 'cap' on the T-mobile unlimited web bundle. I haven't experienced it myself, as I don't have a T-mobile account.
Apparently if you buy an Android phone direct from T-mobile, you will get full HSDPA speeds. However, if you buy from a reseller like Buymobiles.net, it will be limited to 384kbps only. People have apparently been charged an additional £5 or £7.50 a month to get a 'web and walk plus' bundle that gives them full HSDPA speeds. There is also one post where someone says he managed to get HSDPA enabled for nothing. I cannot verify these claims. I can only suggest that once you get the handset you make sure you have HSDPA before the cooling off period finishes.
I myself have ordered a Note from e2Save on TalkMobile. £379.99 for the phone + £12 a month for 24 months for 200 mins/200 texts/1Gb data
Andy

I went on the O2 50 plan. 24 month contract, £13.50 Monthly, £279.99 Handset cost.
I'm not planning to use this SIM, I just got this contract to get the handset.
Apparently it is possible to remove data from the monthly bill after the first month. This would reduce the monthly bill to £10.50.
£10.50 * 23 months = £241.50 + £13.50 for the first month = £255.00 for the contract.
£255 + £280 handset cost = £535.00 - £50 QuidCo cashback = £485.00.
Not bad if you think about getting the contract for the handset on its own
I plan to use GiffGaff instead of O2.

Yeh right, I have actually heard reports of 3 refunding the £70 recently so just yell at them a little and I'm sure you'll get sorted!
Gonna do the same here with tmobile they said delivery friday
Having just got off the phone to the 3 upgrades team they told me that although the website shows the end of the month they're expecting some Silver handsets in today so I could have my new phone by Tuesday. They did say that they couldn't confirm this however and would be in touch to let me know as soon as they could confirm or deny it.
I am however holding off until the 5th of next month anyway as I currently still have to pay £26 early upgrade fee....And they don't seem to want to budge on that haha!!
Oh I've also emailed CPW to see if they're up for matching the new deal released on the 3 website as they're still showing a more expensive tariff so I'll be interesting to see if they do drop the price.

Hey just wondering. Has anyone that ordered with 3 managed to ever get them to compromise on anything? It seems they're the only company not willing to bend even the slightest on their deals!

It is very good but when a third pary website is offering the same contract at £32 a month saving £48 over the contract term it's almost enough to entice me over (be it a small amount) I'm thinking surely 3 could let me off the small amount I owe seeing as it's clear the contract can be offered for less?

3 have recently not been very helpful re. small discounts off contracts. I mean their deals are really great, the ultrafast One on the One Plan for 36 a month when LTE is available at the end of this month is a really good deal.
but even though you may have been an old customer, they just offer the same deals that are available on the website for new customers.
i pain 69 upfront day before, and have to collect from the store today. called them on 333, they 'have no record of the 69 payment, please discuss with the store you purchased from, they may be able to help you.'
Bah.
Yes I hear you. I spoke to them a little while ago and asked why if I was leaving 3 would the cost be £26 and if I was to upgrade it would be the same price? Surely as I'm staying with you by upgrading you should be able to sort me out? They just basically said no lol. I don't get it, I know for a fact they can afford to move on this, it's pennies to them!
Yeah three look after new customers, yet current ones get sweet fa.
I'm confused about their lte. The one uses dc-hspa yet 3 says it's lte ready despite the phone not having it listed?!

the One is def LTE ready and will get it as for no extra cost on 3 as soon as they upgrade to LTE.
Just got off the phone to 3 again and they've said the lowest they can take my pay-off to is £23....I just don't get why they can't just ignor that last little bit, I mean come on! lol

It is very good but when a third pary website is offering the same contract at £32 a month saving £48 over the contract term it's almost enough to entice me over (be it a small amount) I'm thinking surely 3 could let me off the small amount I owe seeing as it's clear the contract can be offered for less?

T-Mobile doesn't price match. Perhaps it would be possible to get statement credit by complaining to loyalty, but that's something else entirely.

Not sure but don't think it matters. I used a prepaid AT&T phone on AT&T plan all they did was swap the ESN in their system which I'm sure T-Mobile can do the same.

It's the same exact phone. There's no differentiation between this one and the one that you'd get at a T-Mobile store.
Mine should be arriving tomorrow. If it doesn't come with a sim card I'll have to run out and pick one up before I can activate. Glad to be going back to Android after a two year tryst with Windows Phone. It'll also be my first time going prepaid.
Woah, thanks for the heads up!
I've been popping in to every store in the area at lunch (3 or 4 stores) almost everyday, all still out of stock. The one time a store did have stock, they wouldn't sell it to me as a prepaid phone unless I paid an extra $80 for a new prepaid number :-/ I gave up after this
This deal is way cheaper! Hopefully I'll have it this Friday now
I received mine today, and it is an awesome device. I haven't activated it yet since I'm trying to get my current phone unlocked before I port the number, but I've been playing around with it on WiFi and barely scratching the surface of its functionality. I'm trying to figure out all of the options that are available to me, and what I really need on this device. Nice to see WiFi calling is enabled through t-mobile, but I'll probably just use hangouts for that feature. I also picked up a Samsung 64GB micro SD card on sale at Best Buy for $30. Great deal.
if anybody bought this phone with their discover card through t-mobile, make a screen shot of this bestbuy ad showing the $699 price, then call discover and ask them to send you the form for price protection, you can easily get paid the difference of $50 with their 90 price protection plan. i can provide the screen shot if anybody needs it. i'm gonna hold until black friday to see if there's gonna be a better deal before calling discover.

If it's unlocked yes you can.
Good luck!
I'm currently looking for a TM N4. I just stumbled upon the 699 Best Buy price yesterday, but out of stock. Is it common for this to go in and out of stock? I'd much rather buy it from BB than buy on eBay.
Hey everyone just wanted to say there is a great deal for the HTC One M9 currently on mobilephonesdirect.co.uk, you can grab it on EE with double speed 4G, 1000minutes, unlimited Texts and 2GB data for only £28.50 a month and £80 (price has since increased to £129 as of 18/03) upfront.
This works out at £764, the EXACT same deal is on EE's website for £1064. Thats a £300 saving right there, you can shave another £31.50 off if you join topcashback and use their cashback link! I challenge anyone to find a better deal
- Adam
Thats a great deal. I literally ordered from EE about an hour ago, came here to brag and read this. The tariff I have ordered (4gb data) works out about £460 cheaper over the term of the contract on that site! Will be calling up to cancel tomorrow I think. Are there any disadvantages to not ordering direct from the network provider? Had a very quick chat with EE online sales and they went on about my first line of support for any issues would be seller and not EE. 1. Is this true? and 2. Does it even matter if this is the case?

I'm glad to be a help to answer your questions 1). Yes 2). not at all, I would argue that MPD provide a better support service than EE anyway! (even if there were disadvantages it wouldn't be £460 worth of disadvantages!)
The price difference is crazy! another reason for me to jump ship direct from EE was that they would no longer give me my £8 loyalty discount (i guess im not a loyal customer anymore) apparently they dont do those discounts anymore. That being said it still would have worked out more expensive!
If you really need that 4GB Data you can go for the £33.49 plan on MPD it has a £89 upfront cost for the phone but if you use the code USWM154 it nearly halfs that down to £50, overall it works out costing about £90 extra over the 2GB plan i got. Both plans have that Double Speed 4G aswell.
Let us know how everything turned out - Adam
You legend, thanks for the code! I'm gonna give EE a call now and cancel - will let you know how it goes!

Order with EE cancelled and order placed with MPD. So instead of £70 handset and £43.50 pm I got £50 handset (with code) and only £33.50 pm on exactly the same deal! When I rang to cancel they asked for my reason and I explained the situation and they didn't seem bothered in the slightest.

I'm amazed at how Samsung can put bleeding-edge hardware inside their phones and still price them LOWER than htc while maintaining a bigger profit margin.
The M9, even with last year's technology, is till more expensive than the S6.

The more phones you sell the more profit you make. You can make a smaller profit from each unit but if you sell a whole bunch more units than the competition your still going to end up better off. Let's not forget the M9 also has bleeding-edge hardware.

I think it's more down to Samsung making their own tech while htc just repackages.
Remember, the NAND, storage, RAM, CPU, display, SoC, and almost everything else in the S6 was built in-house.
Also, the M9 doesn't have bleeding-edge hardware. The display is the same as the M8. The SD 810 is on a 20nm fab node, which is 2014 Q4 tech. It's mostly last-gen technology, yet it's more expensive than the S6, which has technology that htc will use next year.

You've answered your own query here, this is why its slightly less expensive. I'm more than happy to pay an extra few £££ for the HTC experience alone over what Samsung has to offer - Adam

I said the same thing after using the plastic POS Galaxy S3.
I felt the S6 and the M9 in hand and I was shocked at how high-quality the S6 is. It felt like a luxury car just like what reviewers and other people have said. The M9 felt like an ordinary device in comparison to the S6.
TW also doesn't lag a bit. The M9 had a few stutters that only made me think the S6 is a true premium phone while the M9 is just an ordinary Android phone.

Unfortunately I haven't been lucky enough to see/hold either phone in person yet so I can't comment. I'm looking forward to seeing some drop tests though.
It will however take more than that to convince me that TW will ever run anywhere near as smooth as sense - Adam

14nm is bleeding edge but NOT practical or profitable for anyone but the greatest semicons due to high volume.
The process node hasn't even ramped up yet so the yields will still be low and the kinks in it still high = high costs. I bet there is fab under-utilization too.
Samsung is relying on 20mill units per month, so what do you expect. HTC only get 0.5mill per month, at most making it entirely unfeasible and very dear for them.

Out of interest, do these guys supply an unbranded handset? The only reason I ask is EE is about to switch on WiFi calling, and have stated it will only work on EE branded handsets direct from them, ie. EE Rom.
Now I know you could flash the EE firmware onto a unbranded handset, but that might not be comfortable for many people.

Good question, I doubt it but it would be awesome if they did supply us an unbranded phone! That would be the jackpot, EE can go shove their branding and their WiFi calling back to whence it came for all I care - Adam
