This thing bothers me alot that Moto G3, even G2 I think has Android 10 ROMs, so I was thinking if it's possible to install another phones ROM into a different phone. I was thinking of installing Moto G3's Lineage 17.1, I know that it can be really unstable, but if it's possible, please tell me how ?

What do you mean by "stock", something official from HTC? If so, its not going to happen.

No, MSM8974 doesn't support Vulkan API.

Yup. I've been running the first build for the last week. Data & Wifi work 100%.
There is a new build (CM 14.1) that was posted yesterday which also has Data & Wifi working.

No, at least not a major one. Only small hiccup is that you need to wait 1-5minutes for RIL(radio interface layer) to show up.
The best you can hope by "staying" stock is a port of the Pixel ROM for the HTC M8.
GPe devices have stopped since 2015 so the only stock Android 7 ROM is the Pixel one.

Which isn't saying it any differently than you did before. "Stock" means completely different things to different people. To me, "stock" means the software as it came from the factory, in this case that would be official HTC software. Which for the vast majority of M8 devices, also means Sense.
Some folks say "stock" to refer to a "pure Android" experience, such as Nexus (with little or no manufacturer-specific "skinning" or other customization of the OS). But as a tiny portion of Android devices actually have Nexus software, this can hardly be referred to as "stock".
Others may refer to AOSP based custom ROM as "stock" or at least "stockish". But the very notion of a "custom" ROM is contradictory to the term "stock". While AOSP ROMs may be closer to a "pure Android" Nexus-type experience (than manufacturer skinned ROMs); you can hardly call them stock in any correct meaning of the word. CM for instance, contains so many tweaks and custom CM apps, calling it "stock" is sort of a joke at this point.
As always, when asking for something on this forum,; its best to be specific.

That's Linux
Firstly, a ROM with no Android makes no sense. Even if any ROM looks like iOS/Windows or others, the base is always Android.
Exceptions do exist like the link above mentioned by @strongst and Ubuntu and others but only if someone develops/ports them for athene (None for now).

Just check the ROMs, Recoveries, Kernels (Development) Section. We have ROMs varying from Android MM 6.0.1 to N 7.1 .
Btw, majority of the MM ROMs aren't updated so see for yourself. :good:

Wrong thread, buddy.
Besides, every single ROM is basically skinned LineageOS with cherrypicked AOKP/Slim/etc. commits. Some ROMs, such as Invicta, do have a slightly different and/or optimized kernel, but performance and battery for all ROMs is nothing different from stock Lineage.

After testing allmost all official custom roms I went back to the stock Motorola rom, because for me it runs rock stable and I never had problems with it at all unlike some Lineage based roms.
Maybe have a look at the debloated, optimized RevivorOS based on the latest stock rom: https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4-plus/development/rom-npjs25-93-14-4-deodexed-debloated-t3587180
Hi guys,
Now that we have root in our H990DS, do you know if any custom ROMs is being developed or ported to our devices?
What are your expectations? Do you think any ROM is coming anytime soon?
I am particularly interested in AOSP based ROMs.

I too am waiting for a custom rom as it would make things a LOT easier BUT i dont think anybody is interested in making roms for H990ds version as not many know that it has been rooted and even if somebody wants to the H990ds model is extremely complicated with secondary hardware and what not. The best hope we have is to request @emdroidle as he was the one to achieve root and by now probably knows the phone in and out.
Personally i feel, being on stock is more advisable... camera and sound are important factors that made us to choose this phone, Especially,,,H990DS has more features like B&O play and no other versions has this feature enabled...May be it would take some time for this development...
I too like AOSP, Yes...may be we need to wait...
A custom kernel with this stock rom would also make this device great...lets wait...
I really hate the LG UI and I can't believe they are able to make this phone lag sometimes. Am a big fan of AOSP/Google UI.
I will surely miss the Quad DAC and camera features, but I am already using google camera most of the time anyways. And Idon't care about the second screen.

LineageOS 14.1 is being worked on the for the H990DS. It requires a few special hacks and tips to get working, and they're also working on a way to get second screen support going too. I suggest you follow that thread and express your interest in the H990DS builds to encourage more development. Its been in the works for months now. Only thing they're unsure about is the DAC support as that uses proprietary code and they don't know where it is.

You haven't heard of D.O.T.S? Or the mk2000 kernel?
have you tried superv20, it's not really a "custom rom" but a customisation of an official rom for a "better user experience".
roms for h990ds
https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/development/rom-unofficial-lineageos-15-1-lg-v20-t3775689
https://hm1234.github.io/SuperV20/
I do not own or contribute to any of these.
Im currently using SuperV20 with the pixel launcher as the stock launcher on my H990DS, its a really good rom, all lag from the stock lg rom is gone and its really snappy

Hey, can you in brief share the steps you used to go from stock to SuperV20? That would be really helpful.
From what I understand, 1)Downgrade to 2016 firmware to root using dirtysanta and twrp with it.
2) Flash Super V20 using twrp.
Is that right?
Yeah, I want to know the steps you took as well. Also, what exactly is the SuperV20 ROM? Is it just something that looks like LG's UI and makes it faster, or is it a completely new UI? Also, does it have the capability of using the V20's second screen and quad DAC? Send screenshots of the UI if you can. Thanks!

Is the rom and method also applicable for the 918DS ?
I'm planning to buy it, but have not found yet an option for root.
Thanks for for advice

Cool cool. I've rooted already
Good afternoon!
Well, after being loyal to this Motorola for a couple years, I finally got on my hands a XT907 with Android 4.1 (that means I can unlock bootloader for free! YAY!)
Since something like January 2017, I want to have a higher Android version on a Motorola RAZR M. Back then, I had a couple ROMs on a list what I wanted to test. However, I got a XT907 capable of this 22 months later
So, now what we are on 2018 and things evolved a lot, I want to hear suggestions: Which one is, for you, right now, the best Custom ROM to use for a daily use? That means this XT907 will be my principal phone, so I'll use from Office Suite to Hotspot (Short words: I need a ROM fully functional).
Thanks in advance :highfive:
I have recently flashed CRDroid Android 7.1.2 shared by DiamondJohn, it looks great with Overclocking and extra customization, so far there is no bug apparently, and being on unlocked bootloader means you can switch to any rom after testing, i had cm 12.1 before this which restart it self randomly after somedays, so def Android 7.1.2 is so faar good one.

I see. I just installed to my mother XT912 LineageOS 14.1, and that is my first experience seeing a non-stock ROM on a Motorola hahaha
Just wondering: You need to overclock CRDroid Android 7.1.2 for it to run smoothly? Or I can just install it to run it well?
I don't have much experience going deeper on customization. The farthest I have went is Xposed Framework in Motorola, and Custom ROM/Kernel in Samsung

Hows your battery so far ?
i was using CrDroid 7.1.2 , but as everyone know Lineage OS 14.1 and all other Nougat Rom have problems with battery calibration on our devices so i reverted back to Marshmallow Lineage OS 13, so far battery is working alright but not as good as Lollipop, so i might revert back to Kitkat Bootloader and then CM 12.1 after somedays.
