TB-X704F, Trying to restore stock - Thinkpad Tablet General

Hey all,
I am trying to restore stock onto my TB-X704F but am struggling. I downloaded the QPST flashing software, the stock rom and lenovo usb drivers. However in the qfil app I cannot get my tablet to register, the program doesn't register any connected devices.
Has anyone done this before or know where I am going wrong?
Lisa

Same here.
I can't flash it at all. I get an error in sahara. USED QFIL though. I don't have .hex for QPST.
To get COM working you need:
adb devices
adb reboot edl

Use the Rescue and Smart Assistant (LMSA) from Lenovo. That's the easiest option.

Hi, how did you do it ?
I'm having the same problem after a failed flash attempt of LineageOS 18. Used lenovo LMSA to restore it and went through reflashing to stock but i cant get past the initial steps of setting the device up as it reboots.

taking an OTA with custom recovery installed = bad for phone. I think that this might be your only hope assuming you have TWRP as your custom recovery.....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696. I have not seen something similar for CWM, but guessing similar method would exist somewhere
PS - I have verizon version and have not tried this process. seems others have had success

Ok I just fixed this with CWM. Go into your device manager on your PC, you should have a yellow exclamation next to do D800. Right click that and select 'update drivers' the 'browse for drivers' and finally 'let me pick from a list of drivers'. Once you do that, in the list should be android device. Select that and then it should bring you to another list where GOOGLE is selected and ADB Test port. Select that and force that driver. Once it does that ADB shell will work in CWM! Then just follow the commands above! Reboot and rejoice!
How do I find a specific driver?

[Q] Sprint LG G2 Bricked by Custom Recovery

Sorry to bother everyone, but I am in a really sticky situation here. I don't know much about rooting and recovery, and have run into a real issue, so I will try to explain as best I can. I rooted my phone no problem and installed a custom recovery that didn't work at all, so I left it and forgot about it. Today, I tried to update my phone but when it rebooted I simply got the message: [830] Fastboot mode started then below it says: [830]udc_start() and will not advance. I cannot do anything with the phone when I plug it in nor can I access any of the files aw it doesn't seem to be recognized, and when I boot into recovery I just get the screen with the same message. I tried putting it into download mode, but it just said 0% and no messages about drivers or anything popped up onto my screen. I am in a real pinch here fellas, and I really hope you guys can help me out. Thank you all in advance.

The issue with Linux is there aren't any official Google ports for the files for ADB Sideloading. Do you have access to a PC or a Mac? http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html these are the Android SDK files for Mac and Windows, I'm not quite sure if they have Linux support, but you could try. Also Wine, the program that allows you to run Windows apps on Linux or Mac will not work with this because of the way it works, so you need an actual Windows or Mac device. However, if it does support Linux I'm sure it wouldn't be any harder than it is on Windows or Mac. Also I tried using the LG Flash Tool method on various devices and it was more complicated and wouldn't work for me for whatever reason even after installing the drivers.
how would you sideload from a mac. mines stuck. in twrp i didnt even know the radio was updating. i guess my daughter pressed it. lol she was using quick memo to color. what files would i need? i tried to do all the other ways on my wifes windows pc but no go. the phone tries to update firmware when i plug it in and stays at 0.
I'll just say that the way I did it in my post worked for me twice while I was stuck in a TWRP boot loop from failed ROM flashing. Both times it worked with out a hitch to get my Sprint g2 running a tmobile rom back to stock Sprint.

Is my 6P hard bricked?

Today I tried to flash the Feb update using Flashfire, like I did every month since I got the phone. As usual I downloaded the full factory image, select boot, system, vendor, cache, bootloader and radio. The first phase worked fine, but when it came to the bootloader there was an error about not having enough space. After it rebooted, nothing... black screen with no signs of any activity, not even when I plug in the charger! Tried holding the power for minutes, with all vol up/down combination, but nothing worked.
If I connect it to my laptop it gets detected as the infamous "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" under ports. I tried an old guide that uses QFIL, but I believe I need specific files or firmware for the 6P to use with it. Do I have a pretty paperweight or is there any hope to recover from this? If it helps I have an EFS backup I made months ago with TWRP.
Any help or suggestion is greatly appreciated
try this if your stuch in 9008 https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/howtos-debrick-nexus-6p-stuck-edl-9008-t3552838
Thanks for the reply. The first link with the factory firmware doesn't work anymore. Do you know where I can get it?
Type in "Google factory images for Nexus 6p " they are published by Google just download and unzip with 7 zip then put in a directory and adb from that directory.
If the bootloader is locked you might be screwed.
Normally the first thing you do is unlock the bootloader then root it and install whatever rom or factory image you want. But never locked the bootloader after flashing anything because of there's a problem you can't reflash if the bootloaders locked and if it blackscreens then you can't access developers option to allow the flash to happen

OP can't access bootloader anyway...
@MaxNXS you can download "nexus6p_fix_bricked" firmware using "Advanced Download Manager" ADM on PlayStore using its built-in browser with"desktop mode" enabled...
Worked for me...
Hope that helps...
I'm not sure if the firmware in question is the regular Google Factory Image.

Driver issue maybe
Ask @tenfar
Hey man. I'm in the same boat as you. Except the factory image flashed fine and I got into the OS as usual. But after starting the app updates, I tried waking it up 20 minutes later and nothing. Black screen since. XiaoMiFlash and QFIL complain about the usual sahara or firehose. Tried nexus6p_fix_brick and 8675_W00. Nothing works!
Mine went to update and never came on again. To top it off it was stollen from under my seat of my work truck so I have zero chance of getting another. Im all One plus from here on out. ?

I think I have removed vital files with format data in twrp, because all that is left are 7 or 8 folders with long numerical names. Also, it boots up! Candy Rom starts up and runs, but no gapps. Can't install anything to the phone.
