Just got my transformer the other day, it seems i got one of the good models. It seems pretty well built, no creaking or anything, a little light bleed in the bottom screen, but not anything you would normaly see. Any way, when the transformer wakes up, it sometimes has isues with the wifi, its like its not proberly on my network, but if i manualy disable and enable wifi it works just fine again. Is this a normal problem? caus i dont seem to find any other with the same isue? i am running 3.1 official rom.
other than that, its a nice tablet for the price. i am glad i went with this compared to a samsung tab. (more bang for the buck here def..)
can no one tell me if this is a 3.1 isue, or if its a general isue of do i need to replace my new transformer? really need to know before my 14 days return rights are lost.
This happens on my Chinese model too(stock 8.4.4.7),hadn't when it was 8.2.3.9 though.
I'm gonna root and flash a custom rom,and see if this will be fixed.
tnx for your feedback, guess i will wait and hope it gets fixed. Just waiting for a easy way to root 3.1, then i will probaly try a custom firmware aswell
Have you set your router to a specific channel or is it on auto mode?

its set to a specific channel.
Unfortunately it sounds like you might have to wait for an update, as Asus downgraded the wifi driver for some reason in the 3.1 version. Either that or you could re-install an older firmware ofc.

ah tnx for the feedback. So its not a isue in 3.0 ? are there any custom 3.1 roms out there, with the older 3.0 wifi firmware in?

Rooting 3.1 couldn't get much easier - check out ANY release to rooted > 1.4 PRime guide. The only difference between 3.0 and 3.1 in the rooting process is you need to download an extra 200mb file to install an update (well downgrade) to the transformer before rooting.

I haven't noticed it and my device is constantly going in and out of sleep both at home and work without issues.

Same problem. It happens when it's been sitting in sleep mode for a while. (It) does not matter if you set it to always stay on or not in settings. I have RMA'd mine due to the dead left speaker but that was mentioned on my list of problems so maybe it will get fixed but I doubt it somehow.

I got my Transformer on release day and it's had this wifi issue since day one. I've been through non-root/stock firmware; rooted/Prime 1.4 and the issue has persisted. I just turn the wifi off and then back on again (when it happens) using the keyboard dock shortcut or a widget on the display. For me it's not a big deal but I can see how it might annoy others.

I've had my Transformer since release day too, and I've not had this issue, until yesterday! Now I'm having it every other time it wakes roughly. I have not changed anything on my router, and I'm using a fixed channel. I'm way out in the country, so there are no interfering stations either. It is funny that it just started up.

funny thing is, today my isues are gone. Sounds like software bug. Do you use stock rom or?
Yes, all stock. I'll have to think about what I installed yesterday. I did install that monitor program that Amazon was offering free.
i dont think its a app that is messing up, mine or more or less clean, only got a few apps installed..
I have never had this issue with my stock TF. It goes in an out of sleep all the time and the Wifi is always available.

I have largely very few issues while using the Netgear PVT3000 with my Windows 8 laptop but have severe lag/pauses/drop outs with the Note 3. I also tried the Note 3 yesterday with a 2013 Samsung TV and things were better but still very laggy and with drop outs. In both cases things get better after a few minutes of the connection but eventually collapse. The common factor here is the note 3 and perhaps using miracast as opposed to Intel Widi protocol. All of this has been done within very close range and full bars being reported so signal strength isn't the issue. As there are no options to play with it kind of works or doesn't work - in this case it doesn't.
Wondered if anyone else has had more luck or has some suggestion because this is stopping me from becoming much less reliant on my laptop.

Ask another way: Has anyone had good success with wireless display and if so with which receiver?
I tried them with multiple at work and it does work but there is atleast a 1 second delay

which firmware are you using?
Since you guys at least seem to have it working maybe you could help me...
I can't get screen mirroring to work.
The PVT acts like it is going to connect but then it freezes on "Connecting to the wireless display device..." even though my phone says the connection is good.
It shipped to me with 2.4.26 already on it and I am having a hard time getting any other firmware to load. It seems to always fail.
Netgear support is being pretty useless on it since Note 3 isn't officially supported but it did the same thing with my GF's Note II.

There isn't much that should stop some kind of connection being established one the dongle has had a minute to boot - the obvious one is to disable the power saving option on the note 3.
I'm very disappointed and surprised more people aren't doing widi mirroring and reporting issues with it.

I agree. Would really like to know what firmware is working for anyone with Note 3. I thought there may be a custom version floating around. Which version are you guys on?
My latest update from Netgear is they want to do a hardware RMA. I'm not entirely convinced that it is hardware but there's no other posts about this that I can find.
I tried every firmware on their site and got the same result with Note 2 and 3.

RMA will be pointless, I've got two pvt3000s - both with the same issue with the galaxy note 3.
Got onto Netgear who advised me to try different firmwares and I went for v2.4.3 and found that it eliminated all of the drop out and most of the timing issues (except for youtube which lags 2-3 seconds behind what is happening on the phone but as the sound and video are sync'd, it's not really a problem).

Yes power saving is turned off.
I was on a mostly stock rooted rom. Now I even went back to unrooted stock rom. Obviously my Knox is tripped but everything else is bone stock. It still won't connect. Going to scour xda today too see if there's some patch for mirrorcast for if you have ever rooted
I just bought an Nvidia tegra note 7 and I'm having issues with the WiFi. The device's WiFi keeps getting disconnected. I noticed this problem first when I was downloading an OTA update. It would keep stopping periodically and then start again. I dont think its a problem with my router coz my phone and laptop work fine.
Any ideas on what I should do?

I recelled that happening a new times on my device back when it was on 4.2 JB, seems to have been fixed with 4.4.2 update. My quick fix was just to OFF/ON the tablet, sometimes, going into AIRPLANE MODE, and switching back to normal mode would work too.
I recommend you just download the KIT KAT UPDATE.ZIP and load it manually from the SD card instead, of OTA
I'm curious, are you using the slide cover? I always had issues with the touchscreen when waking the tablet by opening the cover, and in helping someone else with that issue, he mentioned that he thought it might be the reason he was having wi-fi issues as well. I've never had any wi-fi issues myself, but it's worth a shot!

Yes, I am using the slide cover as well, and no wifi issues after updating to 4.4.2, but I am still experiencing "ghost" random double tapping on my device. Quite annoying, and its been mentioned a few times in other postings. I hope its really a software problem, and not a defect with the digitaizer.
You might want to try cycling the screen off and back on with the power button after opening the cover. This is a software issue that has existed since this tablet released. If the screen still does this after a sleep/wake cycle with the power button, then it could be a hardware issue.
I've been having the same problem. Very annoying. Will updating to 4.4 fix anything?

In general being on Kit Kat is awesome, better than JB. The external SD card being only READ ONLY is really the biggest problem after the update. The tablet has to be connected to a computer to add/remove items.
If you dont use a MicroSD card on yours, even better. HP hasnt gotten around to updating the permissions to let their own HP FILE MANAGER cant write to the external SD card....
Way out

Its most probably an issue with the JB4.2(from my xp).An update to JB4.3 or KK4 would do.
For those of us that use the Weta ROM with Daydream enabled--or perhaps other methods suggested online--i found that the VR update just released breaks functionality. You can go through setup, etc, but at the point when you would put the phone in the headset to use it goes to an unending black screen. Anyone else seeing this as well? Any updates or suggestion on how to fix?

I have the same problem on a Honor 8. The only difference is, that my black screen dissappears after a few seconds and the phone returns to the launcher.

Hi Christian,
I've had that occur as well...though most of the time it just stays black. I notice if i reinstall the ROM and don't use the daydream compatibility patch it will actually go into VR mode...however it has a big white text box in the middle indicating that the phone isn't compatible, thus making it unusable.
Would be awesome if someone could fix this. My pricey Daydream HW is a paperweight right now...
The latest update (received 2 days ago) seems to fix the issue.

i want to daydream also. i have ls-997 with what appears to be the zva -- security patch sept 2017. looks like i wont root at all. it's ook i have a picasso device for my VR crap. FFFFFF
i want classic rom with root. add daydream files. you say this won't work??
[email protected]! there has to be a way. it can't possibly be testing the screen refresh to know it's bad! we have the vulkan what else does it need?? aargh!
seriously though, has anybody recovered their daydream or simply use it on the v20?
Hi all,
Just like to check as i am at a loss on what to do. I got my Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 10.4" SM-T500 last month. Generally it was ok except that samsung browser will hang when the tablet goes into deep sleep and it will take mins for it to 'catch up' meaning i cannot turn off the tablet or launch applications during that time. Youtube app sometimes will sometimes randomly close.
However in early dec, after a samsung software update, games and some apps started flashing black for 5 seconds and perhaps about 2 seconds of the app /game screen shown. It has not gone into sleep or anything as if the game / app appears on the screen you can still click on items and all. Restarting the tablet or factory reset did not help. Youtube app will still randomly close.
Already sent in to samsung service centre and they tell me they have reflashed the latest firmware.. however above problems remain. I asked customer support and they told me that at this point to wait for a new samsung update or app update which may solve the following issue. but thats going to take a while before an update comes from their tablet
Wonder is there anything i can do ?
Thank you.

This is happening to me since the latest update as well.
I wouldn't stress about too much. Updates have been coming pretty regular so just wait for an update. They've updated the tablet about 3 times since I bought it so I feel they'll have this fixed soon.
Nothing I've done fixed it so I'm just waiting for an update.

Do you have auto rotate on? It seems turning it off stopped the black screen for me. Give it a try until it's fixed with an update.
Thanks Halftebyte.
Tested to turn off the auto rotate but didnt help. There is a new Samsung update but seems it didnt do anything to help. i will try the factory reset later again

Yes, I thought that solved it but you're right, turning off auto rotate didn't actually help.
I haven't gotten any new updates since version T500XXU2ATK3.
What version are you on?
I'm pretty confident a factory reset won't solve this problem. I'm happy I'm not the only one experiencing this. Hopefully an update will fix it soon.
My version is now T500XXS2ATL1, security patch level is 1 December 2020
You are right, the factory reset didnt do anything at all. It made it worst!! even at the home screen it will just keep flashing. I gave up and went back to the service centre and told them to do something as i could not work on it. They changed the motherboard and it seems ok for now. Stil testing it but problem seems to have gone away.
Suggest if yours is under warranty to do the same too!

Any update on your experience?
Just wanted to update that I solved this problem for myself by downgrading to firmware version T500XXU2ATJ6 which had a November 2020 build/release date (with Sept 2020 security patch unfortunately). I'm happy now though. Confirmed fully working after using for over a week.
Hmm after the hardware change, the tablet works as it should. I am still on the T500XXS2ATL1 firmware.
Interesting. Someone else on the Samsung forums had a similar issue and firmware downgrade solved his issue.
When a firmware newer than ATL1 comes out I'll try it.
Also, doubt this tablet will get Android 11 before May/June.
hmm wondering if there is anything different in our tablets (mobo chips /memory / etc) which made it behave so drastically with this firmeware update. And with a hardware change it seems to work better? hmmm wondering wondering.
I still have one small issue where every now and then unlocking the screen you may not be able to access any icons, i will need to lock the screen again and drag on camera/browser before i am able to use the tablet. This happened out of the box as well but didnt think much of it then.

That's exactly what I'm wondering. Some minor component difference on the mobo having compatibility issues with the different firmwares.
Kinda sounds like a touchscreen issue you're having. Hopefully it won't get unbearably bad for you.
