Hi everyone,
I'm a new user of Xiaomi phones, I had a Mi 9T three weeks ago and I having this problem since then, even after the android 10 and MIUI 11 updates.
Video players (I tried many) closes after ending play the first video in a folder (I also, tried many file managers). It only works if I play it in the video player app itself, but I want to play them from a file manager instead. Does anyone know how can I fix it?
I'll really appreciate your help,

I'm using Mx Player and it sort videos by folders, like the file manager...

Yeah I'm using it and I think is the best video player, but it's really annoying the tons of adds when you navigate in the app
The thing is that in my previous phone (a very old moto G3) I never had this problem, idk if there is a configuration that I'm missing or is just a common bug in MIUI

You can always find a modded version of MX Player which doesn't show ads

Try using 'better open with' from the store, I had this problem and now I can open video files from my file browser.

It doesn't work for me, it doesn't set it like a default player and just keep closing after each video (with any video player, even the stock player)
I think I'm just gonna reset everything hoping it's just a bug in my phone
And if is not, I'll try a no-adds version of mx player

I have tested 3 different roms, but all of them have a problem: when my vibrant plays some of mp3 files, there are lags during playing. It is just like a sudden pause with wired sounds during the mp3 is playing, but only some of the mp3 files have this problem, others are normally played. I have posted this on other forum and many people says they have the same problem with me.
Have anyone know how to solve this problem?
I'm having that to since I switched to 2.2 roms. I've only been using obsidian so I can't speak from experience using them but I get random pauses while listening to music. The song is still playing but there's no sound for a few seconds.

I have tested eugene's unofficial rom, obsidian, the new Jk6, but all of them have this kind of problem, I found a few threads discussing this problem, I tried deleting wigets on screen and killing apps, but don't work................maybe this is a feature of 2.2 ？
I have not noticed this? I'll try and play MP3's all during lunch.... anything I need to do to try and recreate, or just play a few songs?
This problem has often been attributed to the stock music player. Discontinue it's use and see if the problem continues. There are a plethora of suitable media player replacements in the Market (free & paid). Search these forums if you'd prefer some suggestions as they're plentiful.
I've noticed that jk6 is better in this regard. It's not widgets; in the past it's been most noticeable when changing connectivity, I.e. turning on wifi.

I have tried a third party media player, but the same result happened. Maybe I should try more third party media player?

are you using the internal sd or the external one to store music on?
and if its the external one is it the stock one that came with the phone? (The one with avatar)

Try using poweramp music player. It's in the app market. It's a paid app, but you can try it for free for about a week or two before the trial runs out.

Whenever someone refers to the word stock that means factory. For example: stock rims on a car means the rims that came with the car from the factory/dealer. Stock music player means the music player that the phone came with out of the box. No 3rd party app

When I try to play a video i get a pop up asking me which app to use. So i select Samsung video player then click always. But at some point the pop up will come back again asking me the same thing. Any idea how to fix it?

Does the pop up come up after you install another app that has the same function? If so, that is the reason. If not..??? Try deleting the cache???

I managed to find the problem but I don't know how to fix it. If i chose video player as default it works fine even when I restart the phone, but once I open a video from whatsapp i get the same massage. This massage will erase my default player setting as will outside of whatsapp.

Each app has to be told which Default app to use. After you choose a default app in whatsapp you don't have to select it again when you use whatsapp again, right? But if you go into another app that needs to play a video, you also need to train that app to which video player you want as default.
I think that's what's happening in your case, hopefully. . Good luck.
I think I found the problem but I don't know how to fix it. I have two video players from Samsung with same icon. One is named "Video" and the other "Video Player". These two players use the same version which is version 1.0.
When I open a video from the gallery i get the complete action and It gives me the icon for the Video player and when I open a video from whatsapp it gives me the same icon but for the Video app. I'm not sure which one to delete. This is strange problem
Which one do you have video player or video? I think video player. I will try to freeze one since i'm rooted and see the result.
Okay I found the problem. Its an app called ES explorer which has some type of player called ES player that's pop when i want to play video from whats app and it erase the default player for some reason.
I have the same problem with whatsapp and my S6 edge... But I haven't es explorer...? please help me...

I just bought an Essential yesterday (640 on swappa with the 360 camera). I noticed that there are some "stock" apps missing like music player, file manager and gallery, maybe I´ll found more later. I was wondering what you guys are using to replace this missing apps. For music I use Poweramp (bough it a few years ago, great music player), for file manager I downloaded File Explorer (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mauriciotogneri.fileexplorer) and Gallery (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.atomicadd.fotos)

They are intentionally left out, this phone is designed to offer software that only has the essential apps to function as a phone (except the Google apps google makes developers put on their devices). Which is the main reason I bought it. I'm lazy and stream music, I just go though storage if I need to access a file I downloaded.

Oh yeah I totally get this. My question was made because I hace not used any Gallery app or file manager other than the ones preinstalled on the stock or custom rom. So I just wanted to see more options
I use Google Play Music and Google Photos as my gallery. I also use FX File Explorer

Thanks for taking my post! Lol I use these exact apps as well. Asus offers a good file manager as well on the play store
Pulsar is what I use for music and QuickPic as gallery.
File manager in settings.
Settings>Storage>Explore
Recorded a couple of my friends songs at his concert and would like to send it to him but can't find an Android app that will work on his non LG G6 and play the files. Is there anything on the market that will play the flak LG G6 audio files?

Doesn't seem to be finding those HD recorded files any tips? If I just click on the file in my file explorer app it doesn't give me the option to use power amp to open it.

As a last resort, if you can't find anything else that works, you can convert the flac files to mp3 using Lame with "--preset insane". Still technically lossy, but probably past the capability of the G6's DAC to distinguish.

Aa the title suggests, I don't know why these playlists are created. And whenever I delete them, they just appear after 3 hours or so. Any idea as to why it does this and possible solution?

I would honestly recommend using youtube music or spotify as a music service. I alsways found the samsung music app to be buggy at times
