i am using moto g4 plus indian version ( XT1643 ) want downgrade from N soak test ( NPJ25.75-2) to Stock MM , so that i can upgrade to latest official N build.
i searched various threads for the same but , all of them confused me on the firmware version for xt1643.
i am not sure which firmware version to flash as, flashing wrong firmware can lead to serious problems .
can someone please tell me what is the firmware version for xt1643.
like is it MPJ24.139-63 or MPJ24.139-16 or something else ( i just gave these examples for the sake of clarity of what i want to know)
thanks
139.63
Keep in mind that don't downgrade gpt and bootloader.

Download Nougat or Marsh from sammobile and flash t with Odin, more instructions on sammobile.
downgrade only possible with V2 firmware files, don't flash any firmware build before the january 2018 or you will brick your device .

I am new here i dont know what is V2 firmwarefile. Can you explain what is V2 firmware?? Thanks you for advise:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:
I mean the bootloader version that is written in the firmware name i.e in G935FXXU2DRAG, 2 is the bootloader version of the firmware after U letter and if you are already on version 2 bootloader, you cannot flash a firmware which has 1 in place of 2..

Ok Thanks you bro!!!!:fingers-crossed::good:
This is useful! I tried to downgrade from 8.0 to 7.0 and bricked my device, luckily I could restore the same version I had before... even SmartSwitch don't give a damn about my device anymore.
If you have bootloader version which says XXS2 then you can't downgrade to Marshmallow and initial Nougat firmwares released till December 2017.
However, if you never upgraded your bootloader to v2 (like me), then you can downgrade to even Marshmallow without any issues. Check my phone screenshot. I am running latest Oreo firmware on v1 bootloader without any issues.

How you flash latest Oreo without flasing V2 bootloader? It is possible?
Hi there, im currently on the leaked oreo beta on my A2017G but since this month there should be the official oreo out i wish to rollback to stock. Do i just need to flash latest rom on it? Do i need to relock the bootloader and remove twrp to get new ota updates?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/how-to/guide-return-to-stock-custom-rom-t3634369 (like i also suggested at reddit )
So I installed Oreo soak test on Moto G5 plus which was shared by link over stock Nougat build with august security patch. But i want to go back to nougat with august security patch from this soak test build...How can i do that without bricking and losing imei etc.I have not rooted or unlocked bootlader ever...and yes i read some threads but none of them are matching my current situation ,so please guide me through proper process .
Well I'm in the same situation. And I was having wifi issues. Bt I managed to fix it. From what I've read so far you cannot downgrade the bootloader. So you can flash using fastboot bt leave out the gpt and bootloader commands. I'm not sure if this will let you download OTAs. I haven't tried it out yet. Or if u manage to get the C092 bootloader unlocked ( some people managed) then you install TWRP and flash a stock nougat zip. Or you will have to wait for someone to capture the actual 85-16 OTA , make a zip of it and then update. There was a guide for flashing, it was for g4 series to downgrade from N to MM, the commands should be the same. Hope this helps.
Can anyone share official oreo update zip?Not talking about soak test one.
I have a G950F unrooted and with stock Pie. Is it possible to downgrade to Oreo ? Of course I'm keen to root and unblock the booloader

Depending on what firmware version you are on. Due to bootloader(binary) versions increasing you cannot downgrade to a previous version, only a previous version with the same bootloader number or a higher version.
Basically if you on version 5 (bootloader/binary) you won't be able to downgrade to Oreo.
The only way is if there is a custom rom that has an Oreo favour to it.
You can still root on pie.
