Download Nougat or Marsh from sammobile and flash t with Odin, more instructions on sammobile.

downgrade only possible with V2 firmware files, don't flash any firmware build before the january 2018 or you will brick your device .

I am new here i dont know what is V2 firmwarefile. Can you explain what is V2 firmware?? Thanks you for advise:fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed::fingers-crossed:

I mean the bootloader version that is written in the firmware name i.e in G935FXXU2DRAG, 2 is the bootloader version of the firmware after U letter and if you are already on version 2 bootloader, you cannot flash a firmware which has 1 in place of 2..

Ok Thanks you bro!!!!:fingers-crossed::good:

This is useful! I tried to downgrade from 8.0 to 7.0 and bricked my device, luckily I could restore the same version I had before... even SmartSwitch don't give a damn about my device anymore.

If you have bootloader version which says XXS2 then you can't downgrade to Marshmallow and initial Nougat firmwares released till December 2017.
However, if you never upgraded your bootloader to v2 (like me), then you can downgrade to even Marshmallow without any issues. Check my phone screenshot. I am running latest Oreo firmware on v1 bootloader without any issues.

Sorry to hear that but unfortunately the Motorola's official firmware center link has been removed all you need to do is wait for nougat firmware aka (fastboot files)
You can't even downgrade as it'll throw pre valid errors over you
And btw der was no 6.0.1 for Retasis_ds
Thanks

as Firmware.Center is down, Use these links
6.0.1 with september 2016 security, (download might be slow)
http://www.filefactory.com/file/66c...S24.107-58-5_cid7_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
6.0 with september 2016 security,
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmwar...HS24.49-18-8_cid7_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
once you boot up, both will give you the december security ota....
You can relock the device if the EU version number that you flashed is less than these firmwares. if you get prevalidation error then skip fastboot oem lock and flash gpt commands
Thanks Sir.

Need help downgrading my S8+ from Android 8.0 to Android 7.0 SG955W (Rogers)

Hi,
So the new firmware update is really bad on the battery and I wanted to rollback for my SG955W. I downloaded the latest 7.0 firmware from sammobile and tried flashing with ODIN but it fails for some reason.
Can someone help me why?

I do not think that is possible. Bootloader on your model was updated to V3 from V2 on Nougat.
Samsung is responsible for doing this. They should be sued!

Checking bootloader version on the phone

Hi, how do I check my current bootloader version that is on my phone? And how do i know what version of bootloader will be in any stock rom i want to flash?
I don't want to overwrite with older bootloader. Need to know the current and the next one i will flash.
My device is from Europe and I have NPN25.137-92 installed.. I think this is not the latest stock nougat for my region.
Cheers.

No need to push your question everyday. If someone is able/wants to answer he will do.
First of all: NPN25.137-92 is not the European firmware, it's the one for India and Brazil.
The latest one in Europe seems to be NPN25.137-93-14, since yesterday there is another update with version number NPN25.137-93-18 out incl. August security patch but until now only US users (software channel RETUS) have confirmed it. For India/Brazil (your firmware) the latest Nougat firmware is NPN25.137-92-14.
Have you fastboot flashed some firmware on your device so that you are on NPN25.137-92 now? That could be the reason you donĀ“t receive any further OTA updates.
Your bootlader version should be visible when you boot into stock recovery.
Yes, I must have flashed pretty wrong firmware, and now I want to get back on the track. Though I dont remember and I dont have knowledge what was flashed before that. Now I wonder what should be my next step in order to have latest European nougat, or oreo.

Flash latest european firmware NPN25.137-93-14 via fastboot. It can be found somwhere here in the Moto G 5+ threads or you can download it with Lenovo Smart Assistant: https://support.lenovo.com/de/de/downloads/ds101291
That should keep you back on track.
If you can't wait you can update to Oreo with the available OTA found here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/g5...fficial-moto-g5-g5-plus-t3848246/post77856408 ( Read OP of that thread to find out how). But as I posted above there's a newer nougat firmware out in the US so you may not receive future Oreo updates if you use this OTA.

Need an advice: I'm currently on POTTER_NPNS25.137-93-10, OTA says i can update it to POTTER_NPNS25.137-93-14.. Then I could get Oreo OTA from the thread above. In case of any further trouble: will it be safe to return to nougat POTTER_NPNS25.137-93-10 via fastboot? If yes, if then I update again to POTTER_NPNS25.137-93-14, it is safe to take nougat OTA again? And then oreo OTA again? Hope you get my point.

No, that's not safe. Downgrading is always a risky thing because of the bootloader and taking OTA after that could completely hardbrick your phone.
So if you're once on 93-14 you shouldn't flash an older firmware than this. Same applies to downgrading from Oreo to Nougat.

Well, in case of firmware, I cannot find direct 93-14 fastboot rom for download. I have found 93-10 only, that's why I'm concerned about not having the most up to date rom version on my hard drive to flash in case of<>.

Unfortunately if your on Oreo you won't be able to downgrade to nougat. Depending on the bootloader version number you can not even downgrade to an early version of Oreo either.
Bootloader version number is the 5th number from the right of the file name that you downloaded from sammobile. Binary 2 device 4 is telling you that your current bootloader version is 4 and you are trying to flash a version with bootloader ver 2.
Eg: G950FXXU4CRKG is a name of a file that you would download from sammobile. The number 4 ( 5th from right ) is the bootloader version number. So you can only flash with a BL 4 or higher and not lower ( ie: 3,2 or 1 )

Flash the full Oreo firmware without the BL tab, then you will be downgrading to Oreo but you will still keep the Pie bootloader.
Also if you do want to downgrade the bootloader I found this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/guide-skipping-kg-prenormal-oneui-t3911862/amp/

No, I have not tried it but I thought it might work. Try downgrading the bootloader via this method https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/how-to/guide-skipping-kg-prenormal-oneui-t3911862
I think you can also get heimdall on Windows
Edit: I found the heimdall download page here: https://glassechidna.com.au/heimdall/
If that doesn't work I also found this thread about downgrading the bootloader with combo firmware: https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8/help/method-to-downgrade-galaxy-s8-to-oreo-t3946240/amp/ You just have to find a combo firmware with the same binary version as your current firmware.
Downgrading the bootloader is really hard on Samsung devices if possible at all

Your device is on a bit 7 bootloader. The firmware you are trying to flash is a revision 3. You cannot downgrade your revision. 5th digit from far right end in firmware is your software revision

Same as post as above yours check all the Android 8 firmwares if they are the same bit number as Android 9 then yes. If not. No
so in my case I have to find a custom android 8 rom with bit 7?
and if I put a custom rom with a lower rev bit can I downgrade?
having rooted and having twrp?
if it has knox, most likely not
[QUOTE = "avipars, post: 84174127, member: 7551187"]
se ha knox, molto probabilmente no
[/CITAZIONE]
knox is 0x1 therefore no guarantee
