Is there any development for this phone? Are there any custom ROMs available? It's there even TWRP support?
NO
There is no twrp , rom, for samsung galaxy A9 2018(SM-A920F). But you can root the device with the help of magisk manager. I have wasted a lot of time searching for its twrp Until one day i visted a website which make unofficial twrp for this device. In it says that twrp for samsung galaxy a9 2018 is not available due to the require of kernal modification. So i think it is hard to make a twrp for this device. But iam still waiting for this phone's twrp.
Thanks

How to port CyanogenMod 13 /Android 6/ or CyanogenMod 14 /Android 7/ for SM-J320FN?
Is there ready unofficial build?
I would defo like to know if there is too
Hi,
A few days ago I bought this device for my wife. Before I informed me about it's hardware specs.
For myself I'm owner of the J5(Which already has its own subcategory on XDA).
It seems like the two has nearly the same HW specs except the camera and the front flash which is missing.
I didn't try it by my one for now but maybe the Roms/Recoveries are compatible?!
Will there be soon a forum for the j3?
seems like they got root for it, but no roms. wish i knew how to code lol
i think messi stopped working on CM for this device, not totally sure
I am working on an unofficial rom of Lineage OS (Cyanogenmod) for the SM-J320FN, however there are some things i need people to help me with.

Yeah, I really need some help!
I suggest to all of the owners of a J3 to not install a Marshmallow ROM yet. This is why.
Recently I was scrolling trough Sammobile (sammobile.com) and I saw this post (https://www.sammobile.com/2017/02/17/galaxy-s5-mini-marshmallow-update-rolling-out-now/) about the S5 Mini getting Marshmallow.
Now you might be asking:What does the S5 Mini need to do with a J3 2016.
Even I questioned it first but when I went back I found this (https://www.sammobile.com/2016/05/0...-the-galaxy-j3-2016-getting-marshmallow-soon/) which is old but if the S5 Mini got it so the J3 2016 will get it aswell.
And I also questioned myself to be sure that recently a security patch released, so you can safely say that the J3 2016 is still supported, just be patient.
Thanks for Listening

Hello there,
I own two old phones and on them I installed TWRP and also custom roms. So I have some kind of experience with twrp.
Now a friend of mine owns J320f and she is dissapointed with Lollipop and the small storage.
I searched the XDA forum but I am not sure which TWRP is the right one.
I found TWRP for J320FN: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...overy-twrp-3-1-1-0-samsung-galaxy-j3-t3628048
But there seems to be differences between F and FN.
I found TWRP for j320P https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...overy-teamwin-recovery-project-3-1-1-t3617806
But there are no experience if it works on 320f.
Since the J210f seems to be very similar (look into topic how easy Marshmallow runs on 320F). Is there a version which is usable?
But porting the j210f rom to j320f made problems with the sd card. So maybe this is a bad idea?
I don't want to brick the phone and I don't want to use warez.
Maybe someone could help?
Are there special hints when I install TWRP? Things to keep in mind to prevent a brick?
Make a full Nandroid Backup. In case something were to go wrong, you can always restore the backup

As @athaarv said, make a backup first just in case.
The TWRP for the FN should work, the major difference between the F and FN models is the F gets dual SIM slots and the FN just had a single slot.

-there is something wrong with letter "a", it has lost sensibility, almost always i have to type it twice (help/advice needed)
-there aren't custom roms for j320f, rooting doesent bring much (if there is one, can someone post link?)
-adaway succsesfully installed, at least thats good

I'm hoping to root this 10.1" Galaxy Tab A 2016 model (aka SM-T580) which is running android Oreo 8.1. I can't seem to find a guide that says it will work on these tablets which are running 8.1. So can someone can either guide me themselves or link me somewhere that can. Preferably a no PC method. But methods that do require a PC are fine too. I'm familiar with ODIN as well as Android Fastboot etc.
I found this method but it doesn't specify if it will work on Oreo 8.1 or not -

I made THIS little guide after rooting my T585 running Oreo end of last year. Your T580 is basically the same (just without LTE), you simply need to replace any gtaxllte downloads with the gtaxlwifi versions. :good:
I have since then updated to Pie custom roms and everything is still running fine
Good luck :fingers-crossed:
Is there way to root this tablet without having to flash TWRP?

I guess if you installed the Magisk Manager app it might be able to root your boot image ... you'd have to extract it, let Magisk patch it and then flash it via adb.
Just a guess though, I didn't try it on this device. Flashing Magisk through TWRP is so much easier

Apparently not. Methods vary according to which version of Android you have. I think eveyone has 8.1 by now, and I'll assume you have it also. So far, the following is the easiest method to follow. Here's the tutorial from You Tube that I know works. You can use Magisk 18 (which I have provided) or 18.1, both work for the device.

That's not even the current version - 19.3 is and can be downloaded via the original Magisk thread.

Have you rooted your device? I don't know if the 19.1 version works. I know the 18.0 and 18.1 do. Try it with the version 19 and let us know.

Hi, I recently bought an used OnePlus 8 Pro and it was already updated to Android 11. After repairing it, I discovered that it's not possible to run TWRP on this firmware version.
Couldn't I just go ahead and downgrade the OS in order to run TWRP on it or is it basically impossible like on the latest Samsung Galaxy S-series devices?
Would be glad if someone could answer me that question. I kinda tried to boot into twrp because I was too quick to read the thread but it just caused my device to run into Qualcomm Emegency Mode.
What do you need twrp for? If it's just to root and almost everything else... It can be done via other means.

Hmmmm the way I've seen a lot of custom roms... They're installed/flashed partition by partition in bootloader via fastboot.....I guess if you have to use twrp to flash the entire rom you do need to downgrade to os 10.

Thank you for your response. i think i just did not catch up the latest progress. Would you please help me find the instruction about how to flash rom in the new way you mentioned ? thank you so much.
And i still have the same question , is it necessary for us to downgrade to android 10 and then start flashing rom.
Look at the roms in the subforum here:

I just looked at some popular ones like Pixel experience and Lineage and they're both flashed in this way. Look at the opening post where the instructions are... Seems like Pixel Experience there's a batch file that flashes the partitions but it's essentially done this way without twrp.

Because it requires installing rom from recovery, so I get stuck here.
The problem is the device enters crash dump mode when switched to recovery mode. I guess the reason is that my p8pro is in andriod 11 before i flash recovery. now the device can enter android 11 normally but the recovery don't function. So I am here to ask is it necessary for me to downgrade to android 10 to solve the problem.

Thank you for your reply, it help me a lot. i have already flash my device lineage os . Regarding the problem i mentioned in my last reply, it seems the install guide is for android 10. As for android 11 , i think it needs a payload dumper to extract all files and flash them one by one.

I think the answer depends why do you need twrp. If you just want to flash a rom like me, you can find a custom rom supporting android 11,for example lineage os and you can flash all files it requires without twrp.
If you want to flash a android 10 rom or you just want to flash twrp , i don't know how, maybe you should downgrade.
I have just bought the galaxy tab A8 SM-X200 and couldn't wait for it to arrive so I could play about with it and customise it, as much as I love my S21 ultra, I couldn't help being curious as to root a reasonably priced tablet before.
I managed to flash custom roms and root Sony phones before but never samsung.
Anyway I've tried a few of these one click roots but they all say the same thing; that my tablet isn't vulnerable enough but also I can't see to find a custom recovery for it either.
Could some one please help me out there. Thanks
have you found any solution ??
