Any Idea how to enable advance messenger for the unlocked version? I have T-Mobile USA as a carrier but I got the phone factory unlocked from the samsung usa website.

Does that phone have an app called Carrier services?
Just flash the tmobile firmware and call it a day, because I tried everything but rcs seems doesn't activate on unlocked galaxy phones
Worked for me. Just had to download Carrier Services from the play store and then waited a couple hours.
After downloading Carrier services, what else needs to be done to turn on RCS? TMOBILE ..

I just downloaded the google messages app, and it allowed me to use RCS. I am on t-mobile with an unlocked GS20-Ultra
Agreed, download Google Messages.
I migrated everything from my Note 10+ and when I tried to enable chat features, it said device not supported. I checked next day and it was enabled without me doing anything to it at all.

When you walk into a AT&T store and purchase a Galaxy S4 in full, cash. No contract...
Is that phone network locked to just AT&T or would that phone be considered "unlocked"?
So far I'm using it on Straight Talk but they use At&T towers... And I don't have other sims to try.
I tried using the check network lock code but that code doesn't do anything on my phone.
I tried unlocking by the service menu and editing the carrier files and all that stuff online but I'm always missing an option, regardless if I go to the efs/carrier/hidden menu and set to ON...
Or if I go to build.pro and change the setting as well.
So I wondering if I'm having a hard time cause...it's unlocked? Lol
I'm running on a Samsung GS4 At&t i337 NC1
I'm sure it's locked, but you can request to unlock it online at www . att . com / deviceunlock
it's free, you may need to email/fax a copy of your receipt , it usually takes 2-5 business days and they will send you the unlock code

I've read about this before, but if approved you are carrier unlocked and not bootloader, right? I'm assuming it's just a carrier.. if so I won't even bother.

You're correct, but if he is just trying to use the phone with another carrier like T-mobile or internationally for example a carrier Unlock should do it
Thanks a lot.

Please see this comment for how I weirdly got WiFi Calling.
Hi guys, signal in my house is horrific - I've been trying to get WiFi calling for ages, and loved it when I was with EE.
I'm now on Voda and don't have it.
From what I've seen, it doesn't appear to be possible with an unbranded phone (why Voda!?) through any normal/configuration means.
I have the option to turn it on under settings -> applications -> phone -> wifi calling, and I've sent 'CALLING' to 97888, but only get the confirmation of the text, and nothing to confirm it's been set up. However, I don't get the little icon to signify that I'm using wifi calling.
Is there any way I can get wifi calling?
Does it require flashing?
If I'm going to have to root/flash anyway to get this feature, is there a way to do it one of the nice custom ROMs I see on this forum, but retain the vodafone branding?
Thanks all.
Easiest way is to flash a Vodafone firmware. Had to do the same to get EE WI-FI calling working. There is an option in unbranded firmware but activating it does nothing

Just flash latest Vodafone firmware that way you will not trip knox and you should get wifi calling
I suggest you check with your provider, if the unbranded phone was not bought from them.
Wifi calling may not be allowed because the imei is not registered to a vodafone branded phone.
They may have blocked the wifi calling feature.
Hey,
I've got the Google Pixel phone which I bought from Carphone Warehouse. Vodafone have told me that WiFi calling should work with it without any special firmware. I've tried using my SIM card in a friend's Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge which he bought from Carphone Warehouse and it worked! I too didn't get a text message from Vodafone when I texted 'CALLING', but WiFi calling is now active on the SIM card, albeit not the phone. Have been in discussion with Google who have escalated my problem to their technical people. Hope it can be resolved very quickly, otherwise returning the Pixel, which I don't want to do.
Thanks very much for the replies guys - I have something to report back to you all too. Unsure HOW this happened, but it happened... I somehow got WiFi Calling.
I'm scared to try do anything else like switch off my phone, because I don't want to lose my new WiFi Calling.
Here's what happened:
I have an EE iPhone 5s, locked to carrier. I'd recently requested an unlock from EE. It had been switched off, and was recently hard factory reset. Unsure of iOS version.
I put my Vodafone SIM in the iPhone today to see if it had been unlocked... it hadn't. SIM was in there for roughly 1 minute.
I put the SIM back into my S7E... started getting the usual texts from Vodafone about changing SIM, blah blah.
Somehow, I now have WiFi Calling on my unbranded S7E on Vodafone!
At no point did I switch off my S7E during SIM changing.
*NOTE* I'm not sure if something has changed recently, but I definitely did NOT see the WiFi Calling symbol before I did this:
I have no idea why/how and I can only speculate.
But... there we are!
Not sure if anyone else can try/vouch for this, as I realise it's a VERY particular set of circumstances, but I hope this helps someone!
Please do respond to me if you try this out and get it working... it'd be interesting to see if it works for others, and maybe figure out why it works.
Cheers!

So i have an issue that my s3 frontier watch (att branded) cant be used for numbersync with an unlocked s8 that we have.. after hours in chat with att reps, they came to the conclusion that because hd voice doesnt show enabled for the phone, since not att branded.. the solution is to go to a best buy and have the phone (wiped) flashed with the att firmware?
Has anyone done this either at the store or on their own.. is there anyway to avoid wiping the phone.. or maybe some other workaround..
Thanks in advance
Hi guys,
I've recently purchased and S7 Edge thinking that it would be easy to unlock and use in Canada. The phone isn't on any blacklist that I can find and I've contacted T-Mobile and they said no problem for the unlock using the app. But every time I try the app to unlock it based on the email from T-Mobile the app says unlock failed: device is permanently unlocked. But none of my SIM cards work.
I'm wondering if I was to flash it to a Canadian carriers ROM would the device then work with a carrier here or would it still somehow be locked to T-Mobile?
Looking for some advice on what maybe I can do here. Love the phone but it's useless unless I can get a SIM to work.

Locking/Unlocking is not dependable on which firmware your phone is. If your phone is locked/unlocked no matter what you flash it will stay the same. The unlocking process with the app, you will need a Tmobile sim in the first place to do it. After that, you will need to turn off your phone and introduce the non-tmobile sim. When you introduce the non-tmobile sim, do you get a sim unlock message?
One thing that I noticed (I have 2 Tmobile S7 edge at the moment) is the unlocking app is not that accurate or Tmobile servers not up to date. I had a fully paid Tmobile that showed for months my phone was not eligible for unlocking, then one day that I decided to try it again and it showed it was unlocked.
It's weird because at one point it said it was unlocked.... But still wouldn't work... I've called t-mobile 3 times now and have gotten the different answers. First time no problem, will send you to the unlock team... They said use the app, to no avail. Next time, there's a balance owing on the phone you can't and you need an unlock code too, third time oh we'll do it just need to get you the unlock code....
Needless to say I never got an unlock code. And even though I checked the blacklist before getting it, t-mobile keeps their own so it may have a balance owing according to their site. Media device it is then I guess.
I have been trying to figure out how to change to Canadian region. It was suggested to me that because I have the European rom on the phone, I cannot get wifi calling and volte calling. I cannot seem to find such a rom for the p10 plus dual sim.
Any suggestions?... Thanks in advance.
I was hoping when I received the update to PIE I would get VoLTE and wifi calling but still nope. I do not have the toggles to turn on for either function. My phone is not rooted.
I am on Freedom Mobile (and my wife's Samsung S8 works with it) but the techs say they cannot get it to work. I tried contacting Huawei and they said it is a carrier issue and the phone itself should work once the carrier sends the software. Freedom does not understand what that means.
Does anyone have VoLTE and/or wifi calling working on the VKY-29 p10 Plus? If so, how?

Yes, I have same model, with VOLTE and Wi-Fi calling working (not în Canada) . It is carrier related

That doesn't make make me feel better ...
I know 2 people with Roger's who do have the toggles ... I am going to try and borrow my colleague's SIM and see if it will update my phone. If it does, hopefully when I put in my SIM after, it will still have the toggles visible.
I have it. I'm in south Africa. Working on multiple carriers here.

Well I borrowed a SIM but no luck. I had them call into to Roger's but was told since the phone was not purchased at Roger's store they would not send the carrier.
So far, Freedom will not send the patch. Roger's will not send the patch. It seems Bell (as posted above) doesn't support. I will have to try another carrier. I will post if I find one that will.
