Strange issues with network - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

Lately (around 1 month), my OP5 started having some strange network issue. The device seems to discard randomly many packets for no reason at all.
I ran many ping test to my home router (using 5GHz at less then 1m from it, no walls) and found out that most of the times the packets are lost or the latency is around 600/1000ms. The same behavior happens for mobile network. There was no recent update on my device, I run stock OOS rooted with opengapps (I NEED the Google dialer in my life).
I tried to wipe al partitions (system + vendor included) and reflash OOS from scratch, no luck. Could it be an HW issue? Is there some tests I can run to at least pinpoint the problem? The phone is otherwise perfect and I do not want to change it

[Q] No data transferred via wifi on A501

Hi,
I am having some trouble getting wifi to work properly. It works fine for a (more or less) short time after reset / device reboot, but stops receiving any data from the network (it claims to be sending, though). The problem exists with both stock kernel and villain kernel using several different roms, but other devices (including two android phones and a non-acer tablet) don't have the problem.
Here's what I tried so far:
- Resetting DHCP
- Connecting via static IP
- Resetting wifi config
- factory-resetting device / reinstall rom
Currently, I'm stuck there. I hope I didn't miss anything obvious, any pointers towards a solution would be welcome.
EDIT: Sorry, I should have read which forum I was posting in... when I noticed my mistake, it was too late.
UPDATE: Never mind. The problem turned out to be a faulty wifi AP and a rather less-than fault-tolerant wifi on my tab.

Wifi not working

Creating a new topic, because the other one is tagged as solved, but it doesnt solve my problem however.
So my wifi is not working, it's connecting to any wifi hotspot but not sending data thru that, which ends in failing loading any pages on IE, cannot download any apps from market and so on...
Anyway this is what I tried so far:
1. Flashed to stock rogers (also tried different Tango roms)
2. Did hard reset procedure via hardware keys (Format all Yes)
3. Did hard reset procedure via About menu
4. Did hard reset procedure via Samsung Diagnosis code sequence
5. Logged to my wifi network, everything looks fine at this point.
6. Opened IE and entered google.com:
"We're having trouble connecting to this webpage" (sometimes no error message but white page with scrolling bars appearing on touch)
7. Tried to access my wifi router via IP address (192.168.1.1) - the same results like above
8. Tried to ping my Samsung Fous IP (192.168.1.18) from my PC with success
9. Disabled wifi network security on home wifi router, the Focus still not working
Additionaly tried a method that fix issues with wifi after using latest wp7 tools, but it didnt help at all.
When using my providers APN there is no problem with opening pages on IE etc., but it's not Wifi.... Internet is also working if I have USB cable plugged in, but again it's not wifi.
Cannot use warranty, the phone is from the USA and I'm in Europe... without any warranty service.
What else I can do, maybe there are some diagnosis codes that can actually help with real diagnosis on what happened with wifi on my phone?
Hello again (from the other thread). For completeness, add the following:
- current OS version
- did/not use WindowBreak
- when did the problem start (if you can identify an event and OS version/revision) - or you noticed
There might be a test for wireless in the "diagnosis codes"... Good luck!
After you use the diagnosis fix, it might take some time, mine didn't work immediately but after some time, it detected my home network. But it seems you are able to connect but internet does not work, this is certainly issue with router/DNS settings in your phone, because I have faced these problems in iPhone, it might wrongly mapped to unreachable ip, but never faced this issue in Windows Phone, you might try changing the default gateway/dns settings, you should also reset your modem/router, and try basic setup before WPA/WPA2 setup

Hi there
Currently using 7.10.8773.98, (MAGLDR 2.0) but tried different versions, even vanilla pre-mango ones, they didnt work well with wifi on my phone either. I checked it at friends home wifi, which is totaly different network and routers.
I never used WindowBreak, never had to because my phone was already unlocked long time ago with ChevronWP7 application.
Noticed the problem about 2 weeks ago, but I didnt use wifi too much, so it could started much earlier. Last installed application was WP7 Tools 0.8 alpha, and all I did back then was using some built-in tweaks (3G?) if there is any, cant remember to be honest but for sure I wasnt editing registry or anything like that, I just play some games from time to time, cant event tell why I installed it, maybe because I noticed there is a new version. I cant tell because I never paid attention to it especially with rare wifi usage at a time.
I have isolated the problem I guess, and it's not the phone's fault. Something wrong with the main access point (Mikrotik) at my place. This is weird because everything is working just not on Samsung Focus. I digged thru many options and couldnt find anything that blocked or stuff like that. Well took it to totaly different place and another wifi network, and guess what - it's connecting to wifi with data flow...
Anyway consider this topic as solved.

wifi constant downloads?

Okay, maybe "constant downloads" isn't quite accurate, but here's my issue:
My G2's wifi icon is constantly blinking, but only the down arrow. It's on for two seconds, off for two seconds. Been like this for the week or so that I've had the phone. I'm routed and running Malladus, but I don't think that's the issue. For a quick test I wiped and installed Carbon. Didn't sign into google, didn't restore any apps, let it settle for a few minutes and the same thing happened. So I'm guessing it must be something with my router (ASUS RT-N56U)?
I'm coming from a DNA, btw, and had no issues with it, or my Thunderbolt before it, or the wife's iPhones.
Things I've tried:
Disabling location, backup
Assisgning a static IP
Disabling 5 gHZ band
Updating the router's firmware
Shutting down my PC (thinking maybe some media server multicast or something)
Anybody else seeing this? Any ideas or suggestions? Know of any apps that allow you to identify wifi traffic?

Wifi losing connectivity often

Sprint SPH-L720
Currently running Optimized CM 12.1 with OD2 modem, but the problem persists regardless of ROM or modem. I have tried NG2 modem and I have tried Stock 5.0.2 ROM as well as GPE and nightly CM 12.1.
The symptoms are these: when connected to any wifi 2.4ghz or 5ghz, secure or public, during heavy wifi activity (large downloads/streaming music, etc) my wifi connection with just stop transmitting/receiving. It will appear still connected but no data will transfer. If left in this state for long, it will disconnect and all known wifi APs will show "wifi connectivity failed". This also happens nightly when the phone is left idle over night. I wake up to no wifi connection and all known APs showing the connection failed error. I can tap any connection and it will reconnect just fine. I can also cycle wifi power and it will reconnect just fine.
I suspect this is a faulty Wifi chip considering I have tried varying everything else possible. For now I'm going to see if I can get by with a tasker profile that resets wifi power periodically when connected, but I still have the ability to RMA if that doesn't solve the problem satisfactorily. I just wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this particular issue or if anyone had any other ideas. I have found a few other threads for this phone with wifi issues but none of them had the same exact symptoms and none of the fixes described solved the problem thus far.
Thanks

Distance problems with WIFI

I need help with my WIFI, the problem happens that I have to be near the router so my cell phone can connect to a network and when it's gone, it disconnects quickly, and on the wifi just keeps looking for the networks and it does not find where I need to be very close to the router, this happens with routers and network points created in my laptop. According to my conclusions and thought of the main problems that cause this failure:
1. It is a wifi hardware failure.
2. And I read some issues about some users reporting the same problem due to missing files in the root folder / Persist "WCNSS_qcom_wlan_factory_nv.bin" but it is copied to that folder and the problem persists, I do not know if it will be must be exactly extracted from another bike x play xt1563. After flashing ROM stock and several ROMs 5.1 - 6.0 - and now with RR 7.1.2 nougat the problem persists.
To conclusion I think that if it is a hardware problem, the wifi will not work in its entirety or I would not turn it on so I think it's a software problem.
I would appreciate your help or suggestions to try to solve this problem that not only I commented but several users but who do not have a concrete response from the developers.
