I want to extract the firmware from my OnePlus 7T Pro 5G Mclaren so I can get the kernel and port a custom ROM. The flashable zips aren't available from oneplus so i can't extract and modify the kernel that way so I'm trying to figure out how to get it from the device. Can anybody help?
Isn't it the source code you're looking for?

Also that looks a bit old. The newer updates allow you to send/receive data on the 600mhz bandwidth using the LTE and 5G protocol simultaneously which improves speeds. So I'd still be interested in getting it from the device.

Probably, 5G variants usually behind is most of the things.
May I ask how you're going to achieve building a ROM with just the boot image(kernel)?

Project AOSP
Most of you here know about my ProjectAOSP rom so there isn't any need for introduction. I had several requests for making a version compatible with the LTE variants of the phone. As such I have made a port following Madmacks steps, seeing that I can't rebuild the rom from the ground up without a device to test on. For this very same reason, I decided to post a test build I made here, hoping that someone would be brave enough to give it a try. This rom is ported to the N7105, however from what I understand (I might be wrong), N7105 build also work on the other variants of the phone such as the T-Mobile and AT&T one. These build haven not been tested at all as I do not own the device so I'm relying on the feedback I get before I post in the the development forum.
THIS IS STILL UNDER DEVELOPMENT AND CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR DEVICE. I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS TO YOUR PHONE

I keep coming back to check on this thread...can't wait to test the next build...did you have to change a lot to get the aosp apps to work with stock?
I may take a stab at it using your rom as a guide...if you're cool with that

I'll update it soon. Sorry but I've been busy with updating the N7100 rom

It's a bit more complicated than that. For each version that I have to do for the N7100 I end up testing several times and that already takes a long time. Having to upload each test would take forever. The rom has been ported to other variants of the Note 2 so it should be possible to just port it

Only ROMs based in stock will have touch less. Check the dev section. Read the opening post. There's only a few, so won't take long.

Make sure your phone is compatible with ROMs before doing anything.
And do a nandroid backup in recovery first.
Maybe the CyanogenMod11S made for the OnePlus will have that feature, though I'm guessing it's made for Snapdragon 800 architecture.

I've been wondering the same thing since the One was announced. When developers started working on ROMs, it was my understanding that touchless controls didn't exist because they couldn't figure out how to make them work. Maybe the One will give them the information they need to make it happen for us.
Now that we can load kernels, is there one that exists for the OF1 build which allows overclocking? If not for 'verizon' N3, can we use one that was developed for a different vendor (e.g., Sprint)? Thanks...

Both idlekernel and leankernel work fine and allow overclocking. There is a version of each that works fine on the Note 3.
If you look in the Jasmine ROM 6.1 thread there's a link for leankernel

I like this phone I think it has a lot of potential but I'm not a big fan of the TouchWiz interface. We have Xposed framework and a custom recovery now what I'd like to see are some custom ROMs. AOSP or CyanogenMod would be great. I've never compiled Android or ported a ROM before but it's something I'd like to learn. If anyone would like to help I welcome it this all new to me so if you have experience that's even better. Also if anyone else is working on a ROM already and would like my help PM me.
AOSP go for it

Yall come on with it!
It might help if I can find which one of Sammys other phones is most similar to this one. (# of cores, screen density, things like that)Then I might be able to use a c rom from that one to port to this one. If you have any suggestions, the more help I get the faster we can get a working version released.

If anyone knows how, could I get someone to make a flashable zip out of one of the stock twrp nandroid backups. Here's a good tut on how to do it. http://www.droidviews.com/create-flashable-zips-cwmtwrp-recovery/ I'd do it but my puter just bought the farm and I won't be replacing it for a few weeks. Awesome. I'm either gonna use mega.nz or google drive to upload the files. They both allow you to import files from other users. Gdrive is slow so mega's probably the better choice. Tomorrow at work I'll upload a clean factory stock backup to work with.

If that's your daily driver then I suggest you wait for a stable release. Because I can't make any promises. Flashing custom roms always carries some risk and this phone doesn't have a very large development scene yet so there's not a lot of people to help you with any problems you might encounter.
