Hi, friends. This is my first post here. I read many guides and opinions here. Thanks. Now I have a question...
My Redmi Note 4x Snapdragon Global shows a blinking red light when connected to a charger (even the original one that came with the phone). I tried removing the battery and connecting the phone without it. Then I reconnected the battery but it didn't work. The MI logo never shows up.
It started some days ago. My phone's battery was totally dry. I charged it and it booted normally, but then turned off by itself. When I tried to boot it again, it showed the MI logo for like an hour. Then I pressed the three buttons (Vol. UP, Vol. DOWN and POWER). Then, the logo disappeared and now I'M STUCKED in the blinking red lights.
I heard that this is EDL mode... I guess. I have to flash my phone... But I heard that there is some way to keep my internal data. I don't care about my applications. I just want to recover my pictures and my videos.
I have my MI Account, my Google Account, etc. This phone is totally mine.
It doesn't turn on so I can't remove the password.
I read that if you make contact between some pins in the mother board and connect the phone you are going to be able to flash it directly. BUT... Does it wipe out all the data?
I heard that if you remove the password setting or if you simply don't wipe out everything the internal data should be fine. But I want to be sure.
Please... Is very important that I keep those files. Thank you very much. I'll wait for your answers.

Hello, new user here, I have a technical problem and I could use some advice. If I posted on the wrong thread or if this is already solved, please forgive me.
Anyways, It was like 02:00, my phone was at around 38% battery at the time, I figured this would be enhough for me to make a backup of my CM9 ROM and then restore CM7. I set Clockworkmod to backup CM9, and that was successful. Then I restored CM7 from a backup of it I made earlier. I think it was successful but I fell asleep before I could notice. (Staring at clockworkmod restoring data puts you to sleep) It most likely ran out of batteries after completing the restore in Clockworkmod.
When I woke up today, I found my phone shut down and with no battery. I proceeded to plug it in to my PC. No charging... I saw that was wierd, and then when I tried again I figured out my phone was essentially dead.
Here's the problem, when I press the power button, it vibrates successively, and shows no signs of booting. I began reading forums, including Modaco (I had to use google cache because it just happened to be offline at the worst possible time), and they say that it's because the battery is dead. So I put it in my wall charger. After an hour or so, same problem. No boot, always vibrating in succession, and also even though I press volume up and down I get no signs of clockworkmod.
When I plug it into my USB, strangely my mouse disconnects from my PC. I use a laptop, and this never happened before today, and it is possibly related to my problem. In short, Blade plugs into USB, Mouse dead.
I don't know if my phone is refusing to charge or if it's bricked, I can't tell, and I really fear it may be bricked, because I can't afford a replacement. (No job, still living with my mom, I'm 19) I also have no clue if my computer can even recognize it, nothing shows up except for this wierd mouse problem.
So, can anyone help me?
Connect charger with blade, then boot into recovery....
Is it booting into recovery?
Nope
Nope, I wish. : ( When I connect it to the charger and try to turn it on, it only vibrates, nothing else, no recovery, no Android logo.

Do a tpt or use the adb method.. I experienced this issue before.. after tpt,it worked fine..
Sent from my ZTE Blade using XDA app
Okay
Very well, I'll go look it up. If I have any doubts I'll post here again.
Uhhh
Well I tried the TPT method, I did the manual steps as described in a website I can't link to because I have too few posts ( : ( ), and the phone does nothing, it just keeps vibrating in succession as I hold the power, volume buttons and other buttons, even with the TPT in my SDCard, is there anything I'm doing wrong, and how do I do the ADB method, is there a basic tutorial on that that's easily explained? Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I've got dim signs of life from my phone as the red led light appeared for a brief moment. I'll see what happens next.
FINAL EDIT: After a while of waiting, the red light greeted me again. And I pressed the power on button and my phone turned on like normal! : O I didn't even need to TPT! 1% Battery... My phone scared the heck out of me by being half-dead... Note to self: Never let your phone discharge too much.
Somebody close this thread ; D
my mobile having same problem
hi, my son let some water swap over his brand new redmi 3s 32GB. he said not much, but enough to destroy the phone as it seems. the only thing happening is a permanent bootloop: black screen, short vibration, mi logo, black screen, vibration, boot logo.... and so on.
tried to flash a fastboot image but no way to get into fastboot or recovery mode as the restart occurs to fast. some times the fastboot screen appears instead of the mi logo (or the low batterie logo as i let the battery run empty yesterday to test this out), but before the pc can recognize the device correct its already booting again (3-5 sec each time).
i already opened the device and put it in rice for 48h to get the humidity out but without any succes.
any other ideas? thanks, ..
Problem solved! If anybody occurs the same problem try to change the power flex cable, this solved my problems. Found the idea in another thread for another device from another brand but it works like a charm: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2638916 i got a new cabl for less then 10 euro @eBay, if theres no hurry you get them for less the 2 eur @aliexpress!
Hi! Similar problems have been posted on the forum before, but none of the solutions worked for me.
Stock Mi A1 with vanilla Oreo (latest official patch), everything stock & vanilla, no hacking, no rooting, no modifications etc whatsoever. All apps installed through google store, nothing fancy.
In short: put my phone into airplane mode about a week ago (battery at 90%), then a few hours into the flight the phone blacked out. Won't react to power button, power+volume up, power+volume down, all buttons, no buttons, any combination of buttons for any length of time. Phone was in my pocket, no physical impact or anything, just "died".
There are 2 signs of life:
- If i plug it to charge the notification LED blinks about 1 / sec
- If I connect it to a computer, it recognizes it as Qualcomm 9008 blabla device.
What I have tried so far and didn't work:
- All imaginable button combinations: no reaction
- Fully charging phone: doesn't help
- Letting battery deplete: doesn't help
- Disassembled the phone, disconnected the battery, put it in charger, reconnected the battery: this fixed the issue for some, didn't work for me.
I GUESS that since the computer recognizes it I could try to "flash" it or whatever, although 1) there are a lot of negative posts about it 2) I have no idea how to do it (which exact ROM, using which exact tool, etc).
I wouldn't mind not losing the data on the phone though, if that is an option: I was about to back up my photos on the flight, but it died before I could have done it.
There is no official Xiaomi support / service where I live, bought the phone while visiting a country which sold it.
Any suggestions?
Small update.
- adb doesn't see the device.
- Miflash sees the device, but dies at "ping via firehose" stage.
-A1 low level backup tool doesn't see the device.
After 2 weeks of googling I have found around 50 forum threads around The Internet with similar issues, but no solution as of yet. Sounds promising!
I had this problem 2 hours ago and fixed with the Disconnect battery, connect charger, reconnect battery (while charger is still connected just to clarify). you tried this fix like this? reconnecting battery while charger is still connected?
Maybe try getting a different battery and connect it, and/or maybe let the battery discharge itself.

Thanks for the replies fellas. I have tried this before. Now I have tried this again just to be sure. Did it multiple times. Disconnect battery, connect charger, reconnect battery. It doesn't alter the phone's state in any way. Doesn't react to buttons, flashes led on charger, shows up as qualcomm 9008 device on PC, but doesn't let me flash anything. Sad.
Qualcomm 9008 is sigh of faulty emmc chip. Bad soldering i guess. Take the device to the service center. My 1 cent op. Regards
Its very simple the solution. The problem is the cable. Try to change the cable, charging the phone and turn it on. I my case works

Have you had any progress? I'm having similar issues with my mi mix 2s.
The answer is to replace the battery. I have two dead batteries for my Mi A1. Both batteries were left in the drawer for several months and upon connecting them to my Mi A1 they showed the dreaded blinking light. After trying to fix this for a day I gave up. I disconnected the battery, the phone booted up right away. Bought a new battery and everything is working again. Hope this helps!
I too had numerous kind of hard bricks with my previous smartphones.
Here are the links that will save your life:

Try the ones that you think fit the most.
I had the same issue just today
removed the battery connector and connected it back without touch any other component
phones working fine now
its bricked and get into edl mode just try to flash with MiFlash tool i have faced this problem some time ago when i flashed an ota with twrp recovery then my phone went dead and when i connect it to pc led blinks and phone recognise in ports as "diagnostic port 9008d" something like that then i install the drivers and flash stock pie rom with MiFlash tool but after successful flashing phone wont boot but after pressing power button for 10 to 15 second phone starts. i have unlocked bootloader so it works for me but i'm not sure it works on locked device try it or use QFIL flash tool from QPST
This happened to me but all i did was charge the phone the whole time.
My Xiaomi A1 had the same issue, I think I have tried all available solution but unfortunately mine still dead, and when I connect the charger it blink.
I guess the ultimate solution is to throw it to a recycle bin.

I went on different forum with similiar issue, but no one have solutions
Please, I put important photo on it, I really need help
PS : Sorry for my bad English, I'm French
I'm the same but with a redmi S2 ¿Any sugestion?
Take to service centre or flash without userdata (since default xml would contain all drive including userdata) in edl mode
I've recently installed OrangeFox and changed my system to Android Pie, so far it were amazing. Just got to my knowledge that MIUI from other phones was ported for this phone, featuring Android Pie on MIUI for Redmi 4 Prime.
I've installed it and rebooted, so far so good everything was working on first boot, but got many Force Closing apps (including system ones) and decided to do a factory reset, booted to recovery, did the reset and rebooted, phone died. Nothing happens, no charging when plugged, no USB recognition on PC, no Turn on even after holding Power button for over 30 seconds, no fastboot, NOTHING.
Opened up the phone, measured the voltage of battery, 4.14V so it's normal. Tried to fire up the phone using an adjustable DC PSU, set to 4.0V and no amps were drawn from board upon pressing power button. So now my phone is dead. I don't know how or what caused this.
Searched the internet for schematic using keywords like markw, hongmi4pro, HM4Pro, HM4, Hongmi 4, Redmi 4 Prime, Redmi 4 Pro, but I can't find it anywhere, it's like this phone never existed for maintenance, lol.
With the phone schematic I would be able to figure out the path power makes and what kind of IC, capacitors or resists to check in order to replace. But I don't know where to look for it anymore.
If someone have it, please share with me. :crying::crying::crying:
