[Q] Stock Cam on LineageOS 16 - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I try to find a way, where I could install the Stock Cam from OnePlus5 to my LineageOS. I 'm not sure, but I think this must include also some Libs?
For the moment I only find articles for GCam or others, but the Stock Cam was not findable for me. So I would like to ask, if someone has experiances with that, or maybe put me to the link where it is explained (as I was maybe to tumb to find it )
Thanks in Advance!

As no Answers, I research further, and give here some infos, if others search for that also:
- It is possible to install the stock cam without additional things (like root or whatever) by downloading it from apkmirror
- link: https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/oneplus-ltd/oneplus-camera
- take care, it seems on OnePlus 5 not all versions running properly. The last real working version under Lineage OS 16 for me was 3.4.25
- I tested several versions of 3.8, where are on each app other problems (app crash, not choosable options, and so on)
- The link to standart Gallery is not working (I expect that the cam app assumes to open the oneplus galery, but I have others)
- you can test Versions by starting in a low version, then you can update to newer versions. The other direction (starting with high version, and downgrade is only possible by deinstalling the newer version).
- If I foud a stable 3.8-Version I will notice it here (3.5, 3.6, 3.7 are not on apkmirror, I assume that the big version-change is related to also other hardware needs for the cam, so this will cause maybe the problems...)

similar story and solution here:
OP Camera version 3.0.43 (I may try the suggested v 3.4.25, if I find time)
OP Gallery version 3.8.21
Do you have any gapps installed?

Yes, I'm bad and use the most of Gapps
Anyway, maybe the point that 3.8 does not work could be related to Cam Framework which maybe must also updated... but on apk mirror only V1 is avalible... But I'm afraid to change something there on the Rom included stuff, as I need my phone running...

Snapdragon Camera: For CM13 on ZUK Z1

Hello!
I've just finished putting '[ROM][6.0.1] Unofficial CyanogenMod 13.0 Nightlies (4K, USB-OTG, OTA, etc)' on my ZUK Z1.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z1/orig-development/unofficial-cm13-t3277885
Everything went smoothly, and I have the ROM up and running. However, when I was flashing gApps. I flashed 'Stock' gApps as I didn't want any CM apps since I prefer using Google versions of it.
But in the process, it also removed Snapdragon Camera app from the ROM too. As quoted by MrColdBird:
Yes it's supported in the included Snapdragon Camera, however only at 60fps (50% speed) and up to 1080p. I'm still working on unlocking 120fps (25% speed) and slow motion for 4k.
I cannot post as of now in that thread. So, I cannot request the individual apk file from MrColdBird. I have looked around and while I can find Snapdragon Camera apk file (mostly 2.0 version), it requires a bit too many steps (including going through TWRP, applying permissions and so on) just to install an apk.
So, either I flash the ROM again and this time, flash different gApps to keep Snapdragon Camera (which means I'll start all over again since I've already setup my device). Or there is any other simpler way of just flashing a zip without having to deal with permissions, moving files around?
Any help would be appreciated.
Good project! Thanks! Will keep an eye on this thread..
EDIT. Answering your question, I am almost sure u can edit update-script inside flashable so it fixes proper permissions after flashing the snapdragon camera and its libs.
Hello!
I found this little gem buried in the thread '[APP] Snapdragon Camera v2.1'
Credits to Einstein67 who made a flashable zip file for automatic installation.
https://mega.nz/#!VB80iRIS!aEwJWFxkR...g_EL9uhASgtGqQ
I'm going to try it right now. Oh and also, the Google Camera app is pretty glitchy and doesn't work most of the time if anyone is wondering.
--
It doesn't work. Fails to launch. For now, I'm to go and reinstall the ROM from the start and configure it again but this time, I'll flash gApps which doesn't replace ASOP apps.
just dl aroma version of opengapps and while flashing set it up not to replace camera app with google's one, and u should be fine)

MrColdBird's unofficial cm 13 has 4k video support
Does anyone have an idea of which camera app does one plus 3 use?
I was basically looking for a camera apk with manual focus adjustments. Any suggestions?
Does it works for CM14? any zip or link to try?

Multi-Window vs. camera2.api

Hi.
I urgently want to use 2 specific app-windows side by side (musician-apps . live_bpm and drummers_metronome). Sadly both apps are not capable of this. I have the stock android v. 6.01.
Therefore I tested CM13 et voila - split-screen for the above two apps works flawlessly! So whats the problem?- One other feature that I
strongly want/need... in the stock rom (live-HDR in Camera and a few other camera-features) is now NOT working in CM13 because of missing camera2-api (at least this is the error-message in camera-app)
I found a possible solution myself - download the apk's, decompile and edit the manifest.xml. This should work, but I found no way to download the apks - both are legally purchased by me. The second way, to contact the developers, was wasted. _Both didn't reply.
Any idea how to achieve both features? Perhaps any different rom?
Solved!
I still don't know an exact answer to my question, but have found a solution: Newest Resurrection Remix Rom has multi-window-mode for every app (not only those who are made for this option as in stock-marshmellow...) AND realtime-hdr. I'm happy.

Google Camera MOD - any available?

I'm trying to install Google Camera. So far, I've tried BSG versions , a few of them, all 32 bit of course (made for Android 6+). You can finde the list at celsoazevedo website, filter for BSG and look up for 3.2
None of them has worked, I can install the app, I can run it, I can record video but when I switch to camera mode I only see a black window and it freezes. I can even access the settings.
What can I do? Is it because S5 doesn't have Camera2 API? Is there a solution? I'd really like to use Gcam, even if it'd be a super old version, cause the stock camera of Resurrection Remix ROM is really bad
Thank you

You need to post this in the troubleshooting thread.

This old version will work - see attachment Unzip first
However I would try something like open camera from the playstore

Thank you so much man, it's working
I wanted to try Gcam cause everyone says it's really good. I know the latest versions are much much better because of many factors, but I guess this old version is still better than the custom ROM stock ones.
I'll also try open camera, thanks
Works on G900F / G900FD ?

Android 9.0 For G920F/G925F

Hello Guys :fingers-crossed:
What about our beloved device, Is there any developer who works on this project to bring us android pie for this device
And if there can we test it ?? :good:
Yes, and yes.
@lukasb06 is working on it, and TeamNexus (?). Go and give him thanks on his thread for the NexusOS
He hasn't been online in almost two weeks or so, though. Not sure how he'll feel about us being the ones to spread news about his ROM instead of letting him do that, but oh well.
https://stor.lukasberger.at/TeamNexus/.testing/Samsung/zero/9/2018-09-08/
Though be wary, there's not even a thread about it yet, so many bugs could be present.
Bit of advice:
1. Stock camera doesn't work - use the GCamera modded for the S7Exynos.
2. GPS in plain device mode doesn't work - use high accuracy.
GApps can be downloaded from the OpenGapps website just select ARM64, 9.0, pico, and flash them after flashing the ROM.
Nice Thank you :highfive:
What about RIL Is it working ??
Well, no one has reported it as a bug yet, as far as I'm aware, so yeah?
Though bluetooth call-audio, and VoLTE (like in Oreo ROMs) don't work.
Also, instead of the modded GCamera, you can try using Open Camera.
- black theme crashes
- can´t power off softkey lights
Calling is working, back camera is working in open camera, but front camera always FC.
That is what I tested for 30 min. (SM-G920F)

Best stable ROM?

Hi all,
Sorry, I never know whether I should post this kind of thing in the General section or Troubleshooting...
I'm looking for up-to-date advice. What, in your opinion, is the most stable and smooth custom rom available. I'm looking for something as recent as possible, preferably Nougat +, but could be MM if necessary.
The phone is going to be used by my mother-in-law so doesn't need any fancy customization, just reliability and performance.
Thanks!! :good:
If you want something really stable with excellent camera go for munjenis nougat rom

Thanks for that. I presume I can find that rom on xda?
--------------
Is it this Lineage rom?:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/sony-xperia-z1-compact/development/rom-t3657384
Yup thats it
I used munjenis los 14.1 and switched to AICP 13.1 Oreo. It has up to date patches and is in my opinion currently the best up to date rom. Camera is also fine for me.
hi all! i tried oreo yesterday and all of google (esp. play store & play services) didn't work. tried older versions via apk but no success. without play store makes no sense. anyone an idea why it works for jho55 but not for me (d5503)? and jho55, why did you switch; only for newer version or other reasons? could you give me d/l link to the exact aicp rom u used? at aicp rom it says that there is an issue with oreo on z1c and video recording; does that work on your device? thx&greets, volkbaad
EDIT: found out myself now that i need gapps, too in order to take benefit of google. i work a lot on pc's but up to now not on android, esp. custom roms. it's a bit confusing at first sight; but i'm learning...
It is very important that you follow the instructions posted in the thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/so...development/rom-aicp-13-1-o8-1-amami-t3755554
I am using the rom because I want to have the newest security updates, a fresh android, root access(adblock, firewall). Video recording is working for me.

IT WORKS!!!
At first try I used GApps "super" (14.5.81; 900 MB) and guess I didn't clear all cache and data. This obviously ended up in a mess with old Google Play files and new OS. Second time I cleared system, data, cache and dalvik cache before flashing new ROM, rebooted into normal OS and back into (TWRP) recovery before I flashed GApps "micro" (14.8.xx; 300 MB). "Super" and "mini" had some apps which were unfunctional; and if included in package you cannot uninstall and manually reinstall them, so smaller GApps version is safer.
This time the new install became functional w/o any problem. There was even no need to search and installe older version of GApps, as reported elsewhere.
Maybe this is helpful for other Z1C owners. In the thread mentioned above seemingly not every necessary detail is mentioned.
I think the instructions are pretty straight forward from there it says "How to flash:".
I'm not decided yet. For me it's either AICP 13.1 (oreo) or 115ek's LineageOS 15.1 (Oreo). Both are very stable and suitable for every day useage. And they are maintained in regards to security updates
Pro AICP: some really nice features and add-ons (e.g. theming, nice recent apps solutions, extended phone settings and customizations etc.). Together with some optimzing apps (LSpeed, SysConfigPatcher) battery consumption is ok
Pro LOS 15.1: in my opinion a tad faster and and more efficient in reagrds to battery consumption; rather reduced, but I kind of like that
munjeni's LOS version is great (had that running for over a year) but a bit aged now
I've had LOS 14.1 installed for a while and it seems pretty good, however it seems to have some significant bugs. The big one is that Google Duo doesn't work properly- the mic doesn't work so calls are pointless. Dues anyone else have this problem? Or can anyone give me a ROM where Duo definitely works?
Mic volume in general is pretty quiet.
