Windows 10 on Essential phone? - Essential Phone Questions & Answers

Has anyone managed to get Windows 10 ARM booting on the Essential Phone?
Has anyone tried it even?
What exactly would be the problems in doing so?
I have an Essential Phone just sitting around I might want to try it on if anyone has any ideas how to accomplish it.

help with errors during rom flashing

so, i've been around xda for awhile, but I have a problem with a t-mobile wing
i used to use this wing way back when i got it new when it came out, but i got a g1 when that came out, so i totally don't remeber how to mess with it, and I gave the phone to my father.. now it has some problems and i was wondering if anyone had a similar experience...
i know that i hard spled it and put on some sort of windows 6.1 rom a year or two ago, and it had been running fine, syncing with both a windows 7 and a windows xp computer... however, recently, it has been very random in when it syncs, and when it has an error. my t-mobile shadow and the tp2 both sync fine with the computers, so i feel that the error is on the wing's side. when i try to put on a new rom via sd card or with the launcher from my computer, it starts up, and then suddenly says something about the certificate not being correct, and reboots back into the old windows mobile i had
i assume that since i had problems with both usb and with microsd, the problem doesnt lay with the usb port which i previously had considered as the source of errors, so i was wondering if there was something i had forgotten to do to the phone in order to put on a new rom, or if there was something speical required to flash new roms using a windows 7 x64 install.
sorry for the long kinda rambling post, but if anyone could shed some light on this, it would be nice! thanks
So you can NOT flash via MicroSD? That's weird. Make sure you're following the instructions correctly.
Also, if that still fails, try re-HardSPLing your phone...it shouldn't hurt anything, and hopefully would help!
Tell us how that all goes.

[Q] Please help a newcomer

So sorry for asking and I understanding how frustrating this question may be for experienced users on here, but I have a Sprint LG G2 and would like to root my device.
The only reason why is I would love to have GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys on my phone and take advantage of this beautiful screen.
I'm decently tech savvy but reading all these threads on here on rooting has me really confused. I have a Macbook Air and was wondering if someone can please walk me through rooting my device on my Mac.
I've updated my phone immediately out of the box (bought it middle December) and my software version ends in "V8."
If anyone can please help me I would be very, very appreciative. Thanks so much!
Have you tried YouTube the only real problem i can see there is no way at the current time to root with mac

Thanks for the reply.
Yes I've checked Youtube - I think the only thing holding me up is rooting on a Mac. Otherwise I can follow Windows instructions posted here step-by-step.
Worst case scenario I can try running Windows on my Mac. I think this may work but not I'm not 100% sure?

Rassberry Pie anyone?

Hey
I'm not sure what sort of feed back I'll get from this due to the age of the device but you never know.
I recently dusted off my HTC X9500 and popped windows 10 on just because I could really and i remembered how hand the device so it got me thinking how could I make it usable again and this lead me to the idea of gutting it and popping a raspberry pie inside. The only place I could think to look was my trusted friend xda-developers. A site that has guided me through many a phone rooting and tinkerings in the past. I've done some searching and couldn't find anyone else that seems to be talking about having attempted it or even considered it so I thought I'd put some feelers out and see if anyone has a) had this thought and b) attempted it.
So if anyone is interested in exploring this with me or has explored it previously please leave a message and we can see what happens I'll keep an eye out here as I do further research into if this is something that can be done and if people are interested post back my what I find

Interesting... just installed win10 on my BenQ MidS6 and it runs like a crazy hare/ rosa mopped
Actually didn't continued this on Shift as mine is running pretty well the way it is.
Maybe some second edition.
Raspberry... yet don't know enough about it, but maybe this is the beginning of a new thread.
Crucial: where to install it physically.

What exactly do you have in mind MrLemming? Loading Raspbian or any other distro in the Vista side of the Shift (with Shift in dual boot or not) and doing what a normal Raspberry Pi board does? Please do not forget that the SD card reader on the Shift is working only under particular conditions, but of course you can always use the usb. I guess that Shift would work much faster than the Raspberry Pi, but so it will be with any PC. The Shift integrated screen, keyboard and mouse are clear advantages.
So why are you looking for Shift to replace the Raspberry Pi? This would work for you and maybe another 100 Shift owners, but not for the rest of the world.
Anyway, great idea, go ahead, you might even resurrect this nearly dead forum.

rebooted and I know my pin but it says I entered wrong pin. is this a known bug?

Help if possible, I'm locked out of my phone and no computer right now if anyone has experience share it please

SM-T585 Solution!!!

Good afternoon people.
I need your help.
My mother's tablet, started to give problems out of nowhere. As I was not able to solve it, I screwed up! I put the factory values, to keep everything clean, but the problem is that she does not remember either the mail or the google pass, since she is from the old guard! To further assist, USB Debugging and OEM unlocking are not connected. In other words, I have hands and feet tied! I already burned all my lashes, searching the net, to get around the situation and I can't! Can / can you help please?
If you need any data from the tablet, just say so.
Thanks in advance for your attention.
best regards
