No signal on stock rom - Moto G5 Plus Questions & Answers

I was using pixel experience 10.0, flashed Oreo stock rom and there is no cell signal, although the SIM is recognized. Tried every possible way, restoring EFS from TWRP. Not getting signal on any Oreo roms (tested Pixel Experience 8.1.0), only on Android 10 roms.

What stock ROM did you install? TWRP flashable or signed fastboot firmware? Are you sure the build is the correct one for your device?

I installed the flashable and the signed one, none of them worked for me.
I fixed it by flashing the Soak 1 Firmware via TWRP, found it on Flashable Oreo Stock ROM Thread by NZedPred.

Fix for VOLTE Marshmallow MIUI

Last night one of my friend told me about this. So i tried and found it working. All credits to him for discovering this, i am just sharing.
HIS MIUI TOPIC IS HERE Go and support him.
He has posted fastboot method there that is a bit simpler, use that if you like. Here i have posted recovery flash-able zip.
Things required:
1. Redmi note 3 with bootloader unlock and TWRP recovery
2. Any Marshmallow MIUI rom
3. Firmware zip
Steps:
1. Unlock bootloader officially/unofficially and flash twrp by fastboot.
2. Download the firmware zip and rom and place them in internal/external sd.
3. Flash the firmware zip first and then the rom.
4. Reboot.

Put your phone in fastboot mode, then connect your device and Run Flash.bat
BTW: As per the original posted: This will work on MIUI ROMS tested in Beta MM version, EPIC MM and Ported MM from Kate, and I guess this should work on AOSP roms since the modem files are from AOSP base, this fix won't work with CM13 ROMS since the base is different and we are working on it to fix, so stay tuned!!

Is this working with slim aosp based rom
Not working for me...
I flashed firmware.zip then rom and then lazyflasher zip to decrypt boot.img without wiping anything
This will not work. Firmware files aren't same from original zip files in MIUI Forum thread and as you can see, only needed to flash Modem + DSP file and not entire firmware-update folder. To get this fix working you need 5.1.1 Modem and my modded adspso.bin. Raaj52 said that this files are from 6.0 AOSP but if you look into new replies, he said this is 5.1.1 modem and I modded adspso.bin file to get working 5.1.1 Modem in 6.0.1 without fluence and video recording issues.

Yes you can restore the backup you have made using TWRP and you will see the same setup and data of MM as you left it.
Flashing will make your device just as new like out of the box.

Yes by doing so you are downgrading the OS.
You didn't flashed the soak test, right? As you stated that you made a backup of MM so I think you flashed the CM14.1 from the MM. So if you didn't flashed the soak test then you're good to go without any issue.

I am also new to this device so not much sure but for a safe side you should downgrade by flashing stock firmware via adb. And as far as I read and watched the videos on youtube there is not any issue to downgrade to MM if you have unlocked bootloader.
As being an XDA user we always know the risks. Good luck.

Battrey life is good in Stock , Just delete the unnecessary Moto Services from the stock Firmware.
I didnt tested the one by Innfinite4ever , also you need few days so that battrey would calibrate to give best results
1. LineageOS14.1 (MOTOG3-TE)
2. AEX 5.2 (Moto G Turbo)
Oreo scores more BM than N, i think stock rom would score more.
Also is there any way on increasing performance by flashing the Kernels. If so then which kernel should i Flash

Battery life is very good. I used to get only 3-3.5 hrs SOT in every custom ROM out there. Now I get around 4-4.5 hrs SOT. Not bad for a 2 year old phone.

Do a clean installation as described in OP of @lost101.
-BACKUP ALL YOUR DATA FROM INTERNAL STORAGE AND PLACE ROM IN SDCARD.
-Go to Wipe>Format Data>Yes. It will delete internal storage.
-Then go back to main TWRP screen. Go to Wipe>Factory Reset.
-Then install the ROM.
Everything will work fine.

Oreo to Nougat Downgrade Partitions for Restoring Fingerprint using Patched LGUP

Which partitions need to be flashed using a Nougat KDZ to restore fingerprint functionality? I've been trying to find out which partitions in addition to the modem are tied to the fingerprint scanner but to no avail. Most solutions recommend a complete reflash but I'm hoping to use that as a last resort.

I'm currently using a H990DS on Nougat (downgraded from Oreo); the Oreo bootstack that remains breaks fingerprint functionality on Nougat.

You mean a firmware mismatch
Yeah you'll have to flash a full kdz to fix it
Sent from my PH-1 using Tapatalk
Honestly, I have tried to shortcut this process on my H990 and the best most assured way of getting this to work, was to flash the full KDZ, reroot and flash another ROM.
