It seems like all the head units with PX6 or PX CPU only are available with 600p displays? At least from the known manufacturers.
The only Android head unit I have found with 1280 x 720 display is the Joying with Intel CPU. But it has gotten bad reviews and is lacking community support. So I would prefer a PX6 head unit. Do they exist, and do you have any recommendation? Thanks!
My Erisin 8715V got 1280x720 with PX5..

Px5 or px6 is a processor not a make or model of Chinese Android head unit.
There are multiple manufacturers of head units with these processors, and are not created equally. which ones have been considered.
@marchnz
do you have suggestion which brand is ok and which brand should be kept away from ?
in regards to de px6 and 720 resolution ?

My post is almost 1,5 years old, now 720p screens are common.
maybe so, but doesn't make the choice easier
so any suggestion is welcome

There a lot of Android head units that have quad cores and lately octa cores.
On Youtube we see only the unit it self but no comparison between different head unit brands.
Some brands sharing the same UI when others uses a other UI's.
KGL uses Rockchip PX5 A53 8-Cores, Joying the Intel quad core Sofia 3GR, Xtron a octa core RockChip RK 3066 1.5ghz, Ownice uses the MT3561 quad core and recent the MT3562 octa core.
I hope that there is a youtube blogger who can ask the brands to send it too them so he or she can run a comparison review between the main players of the Android head units. (like they do with the android tv boxes)
Good idea or not?
I am going to replace the factory head unit in my 120 series 2006 Prado and would love some advice.
I have had an Erisin double din unit that is around eight years old now and has performed really well apart from the lack of memory pushing the GPS to the edge although for the most part it coped OK.
I am interested in a PX5 based unit and would prefer knob controls, but these seem thin on the ground in the 200mmx 100mm to suit the Toyota.
I am interested in the Dasaita HA2135-V840-8 due to the comments about the quality of the chips for bluetooth and radio etc, but not convinced with the lack of DVD, and DAB+ support.
The Xtrons PB78HGTP looks really good, but lists the display as 800x480 compared to the Dasaita's 1024x600.
I can't find any definitive info about Xtrons chips, but like the features of the unit more that the Dasaita's.
The Xtrons PA77HGTP has my preferred control layout, but would the PX3 be disappointing compared to the PX5 units.
I am not yet allowed to post links but they can be googled easily
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks
I want to buy a new head unit and I've narrowed it down to 3 choices:
Atoto A6Y2721PRB-G (2GB/32GB);
MTK 8127A Soc-based Quad-core 1.5Ghz CPU with ARM Mali-450 MP4 GPU
IPS screen
Joying JY-UO135P4
Android 8.0 PX5 Octa Core operate system,4GB/32GB
TFT screen
Xtrons TE706PL
Android 8.0 Octa Core 4GB RAM + 32GB ROM
TFT screen
As far as I can tell, all 3 are good choices. My big concern is viewing angles. The atoto has an IPS screen. How is the screen quality and viewing angles on joying and xtrons units? I'll be putting this in a 2012 F250 so it'll be angled slightly upwards.
Joying also has an IPS screen. I think it is actually pretty good.

ALL models. Already for more than 1½ year (because that's when I got my first Joying).
And how do you know it is TFT?
I checked their website and only for a few models it is mentioned that it is IPS.
On their previous site they mentioned it for all models in the specs. But these specs are not there anymore either for a lot of models.
Edit: I don't know for the 800x480 models though, but the 1024x600 screens are IPS screens.

Doesn't say IPS, TFT, tn, etc. But if it is IPS, that's the one I want. I guess it's worth contacting them on it.
Emailed Joying. Response was that most units are TFT-lcd, unless specified as IPS.

I found a Wondefoo PX5 (mtcd) unit for my Volkswagen that has the OEM look (important to me) so I don't get robbed, 720p screen, DVD, and most importantly the DSP, $270. Dasaita has the DSP with Px6 but costs about $430and is definitely aftermarket looking, and 1000x600 screen, and no disk drive.
Is it worth sacraficing features and the extra money and to get the Dasaita PX6 performance and supposed quality? Everything I'm reading points to Dasaita as the go to
You don't say which car you have but I would suggest the K3 high from Ownice just because it's a MTC PX5 with an IPS screen and there's lots of support and customization for it here. There's a pro version and it appears to be PX6 with 64GB but I wouldn't bother with it. I have the PX5 K3 pro and I don't regret buying it but I don't think it was worth the extra money. If there's a feature you would like from the pro version you can ask for it when you place your order. And ask to ship with the HU not mounted to the faceplate that will save you headaches their packaging is not the best.
I think the Dasaita has a CSN MCU. I haven't been following development on it so I'm not sure what customization is available.
Hello ))
I'd like to purchase a head unit for my 2009 subbie, and i found some head units on aliexpress. Lookin in the 300$ range, there are some decent options but nothing seems perfect.
Here is what i have found so far:
- Intel T8 platform idoing with tda7850 and nxp6686. built in DSP. low screen rez tho (1024-600P) and android 9.0 which i guess is okay - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32950726060.html
- Same intel T8 platform with tda7851L and nxp6686. built in DSP. high screen rez of 1280-720P android 10. Seller seems a bit unsupportive by people's comments tho.. Responds fast, but ignores if you need to solve an issue. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000923381907.html
- Also T8 platform with tda7851 and nxp6686. built in DSP (2 channel video, 4 channel audio), 1280-720P android 10. Claims that his amplifier tda7851 provides 4x 60W (How is this possible?) - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000994985279.html
I know that PX6 is slightly better than intel's proccessor. Thing is the that i doesn't support dual band bluetooth and i've heard that over time Intel's overheats less. But again those are thing i've "heard".
Would like to see some more suggestions on what to buy.
